What Did Aikido Teach Me About Power?

Qin Zheng Coe is a 1st degree black belt (shodan; 昇段) in the Japanese martial art of Aikido (合気道). She began training at the University of Chicago in 2002 under Professor Don Levine.
Presently, she is a member of Chicago Aikikai (www.chicagoaikikai.org), a dojo (martial arts studio) located in West Town, and has been greatly influenced by its head instructor, Marsha Turner Sensei.
In December 2020, Qin spoke to a group of professional women about Aikido. Specifically, what she has learned from it about power in her 12 years of training, and how one can apply those insights in life and at work.
