Thanks for the tips, I gotta say though: I was able to change it from underneath. I had to remove the oil filter, but it came out and the new one went in no problem.
Great video! Followed it step by step for my 16yr old Tucson. The 2007 Tucson ajustment bracket bolt has a 10mm head, not a 13mm head, minor difference. However, getting the alternator out was a challenge. After getting the bracket bolt off I couldn't get my belt loose. I did read some other comments about loosening the alternator loose with a long flat screwdriver or banging on it to rotate it. I couldn't do it from the top without fear of breaking something. I finally removed the bottom plastic guard (two 12mm bolts and two 13mm bolts, why? who knows?). I then had access to the bottom of the alternator, and it was easy to bang on the front from the bottom and get it to rotate. One thing that isn't clear is that the bracket that the pivot bolt goes through has a SLOT all along the top (I have a picture, but couldn't attach it), so that the alternator can be lifted out to the top. You mention at 3:06 in the video that there is no need to remove the bolt, but you don't say why. Since I didn't know that there was a slot, and I could see no way to get my 16yr old alternator out, I removed the pivot bolt and then banged some more up on the bottom of the alternator and it finally came free. Then I discovered the slot and realized why you said you didn't need to remove the bolt. I should've watched the video to the end, but I was doing it step by step. THANKS AGAIN for the video, I saw all of the V6 videos and thought I had to go in from the bottom and had to find a idler pulley. Your video for the 2.0L saved me, and the few extra steps of removing the hose and the fan were easy and made it a breeze. I saw another video and they struggled because of the tight spacing.
Gonna try your method seems like this is a lot less hassle this way than going from underneath. Just waiting for my alternator to come in. Thankyou for this info!
@@EpicHelp It went somwhat smoothly only had a issue getting the old alternator out as it was seized on where the pivot bolt is! A few good whacks and a pry bar and it was out no problem. Going from the top is by far easier than underneath!! Thanks again
At 2:34 in the video I show the bolts that need to be loosened first. Once loose, you move the alternator and the belt is taken off by hand. You might need a flat blade screwdriver to assist.
