I got to help drill 3 water wells in Zambia... We used an LS-100 portable rig from Lone Star Drilling Company out of Texas... this rig reminded me of the LS-100...
I've been watching a bunch of these DIY well drilling videos. This is the second one I've seen from Europe and I can already see a big difference between the EU approach and the US approach. There are lots of people in the US who dig shallow wells, but many of them seem to use a lot of water to drill the well. All of their contraptions require a flowing tap and hundreds/thousands of gallons of water to dig a 25-foot deep well. Whereas, the two EU guys who have done it devised these small reservoirs that capture and reuse most of the drilling water. This approach definitely seems to make more sense. Great video!
@@chrispicritters4710 Thanks, but I was referring to some other TH-cam videos I've seen of folks in the USA who actually use flowing water from a tap to jet out the hole they are drilling. My comment was about how this guy re-used the water over and over. Pretty smart.
Nice Rig by the way. I come from a semi arid area in Kenya and i would like to build me one of these in the near future so that i drill wells in my community as a way of giving back to them.
Great build! On the water return. If you keep the intake floating on top , to get less dirt etc . I am sure with your improvements and learning experience. You will have that satisfaction of a clean drinking water well. It is never easy. Good luck 👍
I ran rigs 40 years ago after a couple of wells you get the hang of it. It’s not that complicated. Especially after you drill wells with a thousand pounds on them.
I think you may have been nearly there. Water settles in the gravel layers, so if you were getting only gravel you were somwhere near the right place. Bear in mind you might have to go through gravel layesrs to reach the right one. Its a good idea to talk to others in the locality and find out if they have a borehole and how deep they had to go.
@@Imwright720 You can find these things on internet , but they don t tell you if it s possible to drill and how deep you have to drill . I ve made many wells 20-25 meter deep with a groundwater level of 3-4 meters. When I walk into a garden and i see all those IBC -containers in the neighbours garden i turn around and go home.
@@haynillesen it’s true you won’t know for sure what your going to hit. However my area is all sands with a coral shelf about 2-4’ thick at 6-12’ down. We have lots of canals and when the water level goes down you can clearly see the shelf. Also , if you ask drillers they will tell you. I made a bit using electric conduit and drilled through it. It wasn’t easy. The county goes to 45’ here for sprinklers. I was shooting for that depth but as I was going down the water coming up just disappeared. I tried bentonite but it didn’t work. In the end it didn’t matter because I have nice clean water. That was 2013 and it had never run dry. I jetted down but I should of driven it down using a jackhammer.
Design can be little modified to drill fast and in hard or rock strata, just use the rope of winch in loop so driving forward n reverse you can further force the drilling, but in rock you would have to change your drilling bit
I too spend some years on drilling rigs, and love how you managed to get to the core of the drilling process. I think you could use it easily also to make vertical geothermal wells for home use with a heat pump. Can you tell what max depth you reached?
Possibilité de mettre en lien où vous avez trouvé les différents accessoires (fournisseurs), je suis en train de modifier une petite foreuse DIG R MOBILE 550, et je cherche le moto- réducteur. Merci
What pipe thread NPT or ?. I made mine with an two -person post hole digger. It came with an engine and transmission that help with torque. I had to buy a water pivot but worked down to 100 ft no problems. Most problems occurred with the pipe
I made a machine similar to that but I have a problem because where I live is mud (muddy from which the water comes out with a bad smell) I have had landslides and the water is lost I don't know what they recommend to me to be able to make my well I already bought a small window but I haven't tried it yet
Can you share the specifications in detail? I am very interested in making a water drilling machine that is very simple and easy to use Thank you and Greetings from Maluku Indonesia
Awesome build dude I hope you help people out by drilling some wells for your community, obviously do charge for your work. if I might suggest something similar to a lathe steady hear the bottom to keep the rod spinning true would help keep the hole straight.
I've worked on a few hundred oilrigs over the years and I have to say your ingenuity is impressive with this design.

Fantastic build. Thank you for sharing.
Hello dear we are also Producing water when drilling rig machine please check in our channel
Cool machine. Nicely done.
I would love to buy one of these the design is incredible.
Great just a question where did you get the motor/gearbox assembly and the connection part water inlet pipe? I mean i want build one my self thanks
Keep trying it takes a long time to learn well drilling I did it for 4o years I was still learning only thing is electric an water don't mix dangerous
Amazing ingenuity and build quality. Can you tell us what brand of electric motor and gearbox you used for this machine? Thank you.
You are a gennie a$$ and I mean that in the best possible way, you are my hero, man, great job!

THats very cool. Overkill if your just drilling one. It’s nice that 240 is your standard.
very impressed. very compact.

Well done sir! Nice fabrication
Pôr gentileza gostaria de saber se este tipo de makina tem pára venda qual valor e se entrėgão
Nice simple design. If you can drill rocks. You can drill anywhere
What we got down there?..Yella nugget??!..😂
Excelente trabajo felicitaciones!!
Quisiera saber de cuantos HP es el motor que hace girar la mecha,

I would definitely back-ream every joint before I made a connection. It’s just good practice that is worth the extra minute.
First lesson :ask the neighbours , do they have a well , how deep is it and what is groundwater level
You better go deeper man lol
In the state I live you can look up well locations and depth

It is amazing. I'm interested to know the list of parts involved in building it. Thanks.

Very good machine and method
Greetings. What are the details on the motor and gear reduction, winch rating etc. Thanks!
Nice rig, did you have a schematic and parts list or did you make one that you can share?
Inspirational video actually

If you can guides me with the max capacity of drilling can be great.
Thx for the guides
I can drill a maximum of 30 meters as the drill depth is.
