The Wailers first reggae hit in the 60's, this is one of the first reggae songs I heard as a young teenager along with Desmond Dekker's "Israelites". Got me addicted reggae......
2002. Topeka Kansas. Went to visit my older brother there and found this song on his computer. Immediately burned it and a bunch of other 90’s songs to CD and wore that darn thing out for the rest of the trip out there :D. Good times.

This band just makes me happy-- it wouldn't matter if they sucked (which they don't) it would still make me smile to hear a saxophone solo over a heavily distorted punk rock guitar. :)
Some useless info: the reason Angelo and Norwood from Fishbone appear in this video is 'cuz the 'bone and the 'tones were on the road together at the time. Now that would've been a HELL of a concert! EDIT: After reading all of these comments, I've got one word: JEALOUS!
I actually saw in '98 blink 182 (which i never really liked) open for the bosstones headlined by less than jake! Now that was a badass concert. Less than jake I've always felt was underrated.
Same bro, now i don't flip like used to but still love kickin' the streets, back from the 90's till i stop breathing, tons of good fuckin bands on my walkman yeaaaaaaahhhhh👊

I loved music in the 90's bands with actual talent getting noticed and getting signed. Now bands with no talent are getting money when they dont even diserve it, the reason why they sign those bands is becuase its part of the time they will drop them when they arnt hip anymore it shows if ur talented people wont care Long live ska
Reggae is my music... I like this song from the time of hearing The Wailers original version. I'm totally appreciative of American bands bringing about something of a "reggae revival". One little criticism... I find the drums on this version a little too "rock-n-rollish" sounding.

I discovered ska in college when this great band did a concert in a dive bar near campus. I've loved it ever since.

Dickey’s death metal voice with traditional ska is one of the best things I ever heard in my life!
Austin Nicholson I think they just mean dickie‘s voice

They were touring with fishbone at the time. You can see Angelo in one of the shots. That Show was one of my all time greats!
Timeless advice.

It was!! The first time I saw Bosstones was with Fishbone at Liberty Lunch (95 or 96?) in Austin, Tx. I have loved them ever since!
What's certain is that Dicky is wearing a HELL of a hat in this video!
Bosstones are great live but Fishbone is on a whole other level.
Best live band I have ever seen and I have seen thousands

Covered by 1st 2nd and 3rd wave ska bands.

I didn't care for fishbone when I was younger but I definitely like them now. I saw them last year at deluna fest. Angelo was very entertaining.
This is one of those covers that raises it above the original. Like Jimi with All Along the Watchtower or UB40 with Red Red Wine...
I've been to every single place in this music video
Where is it?

I always liked the Bosstones more traditional Ska sounding songs.

I agree. They would have been a good ska band rather than ska-punk.
Which is just another way of saying that traditional ska is better than 3rd wave ska or ska-punk or whatever you want to call the '90s iteration.

Was the trombone player ever in a band where he was lead singer? He has a damn good singing voice.
He did vocals and guitar for a rock band called Chubby after he left the Bosstones. They have one album on Spotify. It's not bad.
He's also the front man for big D and the kids table
