    I learned to program about 6 years ago from your unity videos. I still remember how amazing it was to have those first games run. Since then I have learned more than 20 languages and even though I have drifted away from unity and game development, and more into node and backend web dev, game development will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for making these awesome tutorials years later for new people to try and experience the same thing that I did.

    I"m excited about your upcoming PHP videos. Learning this stuff from someone who actually makes/made a living from this language would be a boon.

      Thanks Todd. It should be a good series. I’m starting off with the basics to make sure to lay a solid foundation. And then gradually I’ll introduce more advanced tutorials. Ultimately, the goal is to give people everything they will ever need to know about how to code PHP and utilize it effectively with other languages. Thanks for watching 🙌🏼

      New videos will be uploaded shortly. In the next few days. Next week I’ll be uploading 2 videos per day. One in the morning and then one in the evening. There will be 4 playlists in total. A beginners playlist, intermediate, advanced and then a projects playlist. Thanks for watching 🙌🏼

    Hey bro .. thanks for this overview .. I was wondering .. which of those 3 languages you mentioned (Python PHP node JS or actually typescript) would you recommend for someone who does primarily file or sql query results processing..
    Basically read a fixed record file or sql query results, parse that data, and create a client facing text or csv report from it.. the outputs are not going to be served up on a web page but rather FTPd to repository.. very boring old school reports with transaction counts, transaction totals, etc
    basically I am looking to replace cobol business reporting with a “modern” language .. cheers and thanks

    Hope to have much needed tools to think in PHP (OOP) !

      Going to start off with basics first. The fundamentals. Then going into more complex tutorials. This is going to be a deep dive into PHP. My goal is to cover topics not always covered by other tutorials. Thanks for watching and the question.

    • @PixemWeb
      @PixemWeb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will do. I honestly believe PHP will be the dominant language for at least the next decade. Of course market share will likely shift some as newer or current solutions grow but I can’t see PHP going away. I’ll probably write a small program to graph out the next 10 years. Could make for a fun tutorial. Thanks for the idea 🙌🏼

    how do you feel about Microsoft dropping support for PHP 8 and beyond ?

    • @PixemWeb
      @PixemWeb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I find it interesting considering how much Microsoft has decided to support Open Source projects and even investing in the Linux Subsystem for Windows, but in reality, there will most likely be no perceptual difference for PHP Developers. Some are speculating that Microsoft wants people to use the Linux Subsystem in Windows when using PHP. Let's see what happens. A lot of people are watching. Thanks for the question.
