Congrats on the success of your channel sir, I see you have recently passed 100k! Keep up the reviews, they're the most professional, no nonsense opinion and specs for time pieces on TH-cam. I've bought several due to them without the worry I would get before watching your channel. Thank you! Love the new Pagani Design too!
Great review as always. I’ve had the same model for a month now and been totally satisfied with the look and accuracy. It’s absolutely unbelievable that a watch of this caliber can be had for under 100 dollars.
Thanks for the review. I really liked it ) I bought this watch today for $71.5. I was a little worried about the mechanism, looked at your review and calmed down. Great watch for the money!
This 1722 is an improvement over the YS003, even tho it still lacks behind the IWC IW500705 with its 7 day powerreserve, its homaging. But lookswise it’s rather close; I assume they chose this rather unconventional or newer movement to mimic the look of the aforementioned as closely as possible. But the movement looks great for a 100€ piece, compare that to your avg NH35! Reliability might be a small gamble… The 1722 could do with less text on the dial and I would prefer if they stuck to the original size of 42 mm. Overall I like it! It has much better water resistance, 20 atm vs 3 atm… Thanks for the review, I liked it! Excellent work as always! Good attention to detail!
Fantastic and detailed review. I picked this up on sale for $75usd, delived, including tax. The strap was better than expected and I'm sure on some days it will go another timepiece. Clean style, quality workmanship (especially for the price), I'd say one would be hard pressed to find a better overall watch for $75. And...if you know of one, please tell me, I'd love to check it out.
great review. got mine on sale for $75. i love it but had to replace the crown stem with a longer one to more easily operate the crown. a beautiful piece
Great review as always and I 100% agree, more AR coating would be nice but I absolutely loath that Pt Time text. I just don't understand why they put it on the dial.
What a beauty, unfortunately almost all watch straps with a pin buckle from PD are too short and really only fit up to a 7-inch wrist. You could order the folding clasp for the perforated bracelets, then you could avoid the problem with the length.
Great review - thank you. Interesting comments regarding the accuracy of the movement. I guess it's helpful that the piece has a power reserve indicator - at least you can keep the power reserve up to preserve the accuracy. Can you please tell me if the glass (front and back) is sapphire? I'm seriously considering this one with a black strap - length shouldn't be an issue on my 7 inch wrist. I also think this one would look great on a milanese strap - would make it an appealing dress piece IMHO.
Thanks for the review. That sure looks like a single domed crystal however. It distorts quite a bit when tilted like a single domed. I personally like that effect though. Also gives the sapphire added strength due to the added thickness; which is nice considering the fact that sapphire is a little more prone to shattering.
I don’t know much about crystals, but that distortion is because it’s a single dome, and I also believe that the lack of ar treatment might help with the reflectivity to emphasize the blued hands and markers! Cheers, good video
Thank you for watching. You are mistaken. The crystal is double domed, not single domed. The distortion is caused by the thickness of the crystal. A single domed crystal that is flat on the underside has a magnification effect on the dial. This dial is not magnified when viewing straight-on. When one tilts it at an oblique angle the thickness of the crystal causes a distortion effect. Regards, #WR4K

@@watchreviews4k I have doubts that is how they make them blue because it seems like a process that would be beyond ($) what a watch of this price would have... unless you know for certain that blued process is what they really do there.. is it?
It's a great looking watch, but I'm with you. There is too much text on the face. IMHO, it would look much better with just the applied PD logo. No other writing.
Quick question, just received the watch, it looks absolutely gorgeous but I'm a bit concerned about the loud ticking noise the mechanism makes. Did you have the same with your one? It's as loud as one manual wind Parnis I've got but I knew that this Parnis ticks loudly, but not sure if it's normal for that Pagani? Nh35 is super quiet, you need to hold your ear next to the watch, here you hear it from a distance. It doesn't bother me as long as its normal for that mechanism.
I bought one and the screw down crown did not work good at all, it was fiddly and crap. I don’t know why I could not putsch in to set the time I had to fiddle push. I returned it and now bought a new one. It’s a little less fiddly but yeah… why is that? I love the watch, looks amazing feels good on me and all that but the watch gotta work to ya know
This is a watch of contradictions. Those lugs are suited to bigger wrists but the leather strap is a bit short. The leather strap says it isn't for diving but the 200m water resistance is diver territory.
@@watchreviews4k Thanks for the quick reply. Btw, last question. In your expert opinion, what’s the best homage watch that Pagani Design had made that you reviewed? I’m planning to score one during the “sale”. Thanks buddy.👍🏼
The PD-1692 Air-King homage. I liked it so much I added it to my own personal collection. See my review of it below. Regards, #WR4K th-cam.com/video/6fHOJtFudto/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for watching. Typically 40 hours is the standard power reserve for automatic watches. The accuracy is stable across the 40 hours. However all automatic movements perform best when at 100% of their power reserve, rather than under 30%. This is why METAS test chronometer movements at both 100% and 30% of their power reserve. The problem with extending the power reserve to 48, 60, or 70 hours is one sacrifices accuracy. It is difficult to make a 70 hour automatic movement perform within COSC chronometer limits of -4 to +6 seconds per day, as per the Tudor Black Bay for example. When the power reserve drops to below 30% the accuracy is less stable, and more variable. For example, when 100% wound the movement can be +/-10 seconds per day. Below 30% the accuracy could be +/-30 seconds. On a positive note, this piece has a power reserve indicator on the dial, so its easy to keep it above the 30% and therefore performing accurately. Wearing the watch daily 8-12 hours per day is enough to keep it wound automatically. If you wear it in rotation with other watches, then you can manually wind it to keep it above 30% and performing best. Regards, #WR4K

I have posted this in other forums. My experience with this timepiece has been very negative. The movement is garbage. In the first one I ordered, the calendar function did not work. I ordered a replacement, and the power reserve indicator is frozen in the UP position.
Purchased one recently the power reserve indicator is not functioning and the timekeeping is woeful 10 20 sec - + per hour. I have contacted Pagani for a refund/replacement. Customer service is non existent.Very poor.
@@watchreviews4k Please do some research before stating things like this, it pretty common knowledge that by changing the time between 9.00pm and 3.00am could be harmful to the movement. The date mechanism to be specific. You can se how the date wheel wasn't centered when the date was first changed and it then got readjusted, by doing it several times the date wheel will eventually be off centered due to a misaligned gear or runs the risk to have the date wheel stuck or simply detached from the gears.
