My husband wasn’t on board with the totes but I got some of those tower planters from the dollar tree and didn’t like them very much. So I am doing your buried pot method all throughout the garden and let me tell you what. That stuff breaks down so quickly underneath the top pot 😍😍 I’ve probably already made a buckets worth of fresh soil in the last WEEK! (I threw in some red wigglers in each of my composting pots to speed things along). Works so well! I now look forward to all your videos!! 😍 Keep em coming! Much love from Texas!

Monster Mash ; we have a six acre campus which supplies tons of leaves , branches , clean non sprayed lawn clippings for mulching in our community garden , Growing food for the neighborhood !!!! Here in zone 9 b in Sacramento County California USA !!!!
We get coffee grounds from Starbucks ; we have a truck load full of wood chips ; we have a huge pile of compost ; we're building soil in our 10 raised beds , exactly "like" Robbie and Gary teach !!!!
So far , the garden has given food to three people in the past 10 days , people who come to the food locker to get groceries !!!!! It's a combined effort, food locker and organic garden !!!! Food for the people !!!!

You are the best!!! I always wondered why so many gardeners shun putting meat and bones in your compost… they all don’t really have a reason, they just say don’t do it. Some have said that it will attract rodents, but the gardeners who have used fish say to cover it in limestone powder. You have really been a great mentor for me in this gardening arena! You think outside the box and aren’t afraid to try new things. I’m getting the rest of my garden set up now… I’m super excited for this growing season! I hope everyone is successful in their gardens this year!

I watched one of your videos last year and I have started collecting my kitchen and garden wastes in buckets. Once they fill up, I move them to large grow bags and top them with soil and some castings from my worm bin. After a few weeks, I transplant seedlings into them. The plants I have in those grow bags are the most productive plants I have.
I used to buy soil in big bags but have stopped since I started doing your method. I just filled a tower planter last week and I'm now waiting for my herb seedlings to be ready for transplant.
So grateful I stumbled upon your channel. :)

I've started filling up empty food containers and when it is half or 3/4 full, I take it out and find somewhere to put it. I throw leaves or a handful of dirt in it. Then I make my holes in it to leach out the direction I want.
Yesterday, hubby said, " Oh, you bought me another container of coffee."
I had to tell him that it was actually scraps from the icebox and toilet paper rolls 😂. It had gotten close to time to go to the store so I just left it on the counter top. I didn't even realize it was beside the coffee pot and he thought I bought it at the grocery store yesterday. Good thing he said something or he would have opened it to make coffee and be quite confused at five a.m. 😅

How much is the temperature at your home?? You said it’s cold! Right now in Montreal, it’s around 15-18’F!! So, can we change homes?? Lol! Have a good day, my friend!

I am sorry to ask another question. I started a compost garbage can last year, I was not aware to put holes in it. It has sat, gotten wet and when I opened it today, the soil is like mud, does that mean its no good? I have branches, worms etc in there

You can drill holes in there to drain out water but you will have to dump everything out & layer it back in correctly...otherwise it will be anaerobic which will not compost correctly

Believe me I truly feel for you, my body just does not do well with cold. Maybe because my Mom always kept me all bundled in coats…so I did the opposite with my kids and it worked they do not mind the cold, LOL 😆 stay warm and thank you so much 😊

Hi Robbie! Love your videos! I noticed that my grass clippings from a few months ago have turned black...I put them in a bin...is that ok to use along with soil for my veggie containers?

I'm not Robbie, but I think that will be some great soil.

Hi Robbie, just found your channel recently and love your videos! So, I have started 1 tote as a very newbie gardener, and wasn't sure...Am I supposed to keep the lid on the finished tote? And can I keep adding to it, by burying food scraps under my soil layer? Thanks so much, your "sage" 😂🌱🍂🪱🐦 advice is invaluable, Lord bless you for sharing!❤

I hope this question is ok. Do you just add worms from your garden into those plants ?
