- This is a great value supercar. You get the same pops and gurgles as a Lamborghini Huracan but at a lower price. It's also super comfy so you can drive it literally every day if you want to. The only issue I have with the R8 is that the design hasn't changed much in 14 years so I just don't find it that sexy anymore. Thoughts guys?

I used to have an R8 and absolutely loved it! It was a 2009 V8 model but the exhaust note was still amazing. The maintenance costs were crazy expensive, however. Ended up trading it in, but man do I miss it.

A bit like the last Porsche you reviewed, a solid tightly packed performer, not so concerned with flash and flourishes, almost sleepy on the outside. But the growls and pops make it really come alive!💥💥💥👍

Great video. Always wanted to own an R8, and I’m actually going to have to disagree with you about the design. I love how it looks a bit more square and geometric, from the shape of the headlights and the carbon fibre panel, I think it looks perfect, and the colour is just fantastic. One thing I don’t really like is the steering wheel, looks a bit cluttered but I’m sure if I owned this thing I wouldn’t care

Nice update of the R8, previous model had it's design already aged. Particularly I liked that it has no screen in the middle, I like this simplicity e clearness that it gives to the dashboard resembling how cars used to be. Cheers!
When the R8 was launched 14 years ago it was perfect, when you try and mess with that it gets worse. Performance and interior improved but the 2007 model is the one for me. Car perfection.

Well put, that's why I prefer the audi R8 to other super cars, if I want to go to a meeting or something i will look the part, but if I pulled up in a Lamborghini it would look to crazy and attract way more attention, the R8 will still get attention but not as much as a Lamborghini will, it's like you said a Lamborghini in a suit, perfect to make a good impression

Lol, they freshened it up as much as they could without losing it's originality. The older one looks like a stretch limo TT, but the new looks like nothing else, while it can easily slip into a Lambo uniform. If someone gives you a ride in one, don't be shy, talk to the driver, tell them you would like to listen to classical music, or Steppenwolf, while they are too amused by the exhaust at every ratio shuffle.
I agree completely with your main critiques of the car. I really could use a major design update with more drama in it - not way over the top - but still, more drama. Also, I have really come to love having all-digital dashboards and center console screens. In a car like that, you simply should not have to stick your iPhone on the dash or windshield to get navigation or play your music from your phone.
Could we agree on the fact, that the real first supercar from Audi was the Audi Sportquattro?
