    I only have Spice & Black Vanilla at the moment, but it's really good for the price. For me, the performance is pretty good too. I'd say projection is decent in the 1st couple hours, but it lasts me all day.

    I’ve just about every Cremo cologne from the line-up (minus the last 4 recent releases) and love them all! Great niche barbershop fragrances. Bold yet subtle, while similar to many great designer fragrances, but without the designer prices.

      The bottle of Vintage Suede I received from Cremo smelled so darn awful I called Cremo. It was disgusting. They were nice and sent me a free bottle of anything else I’d like. I chose the Palo Santo which is really good for my nose. Almost perfect clone of a $300 bottle of Santal 33. Great customer service at Cremo!

    I have 12 cremos. I only dislike 4. Blind naught all of them. Hemp golden amber, bourbon and oak, vintage suede, sandalwood and amber are originally my top 4 I use most. Reserved blend you spoke if was my first. I love it along with all the 2 others you mentioned

    I agree 100% about smell being objective. I love the original 1998 Cartier Declaration eau de toilette but it seems to continually get weaker and weaker. Fragrantica and a bunch of men say that Hermes Terre D'Hermes Eau De Toilette smells like Cartier Declaration but I blind bought a bottle based off that assumption and I don't know what's wrong with everyone's nose but Hermes Terre d'Hermès does NOT smell like Cartier Declaration edt. I don't know what's wrong with so many peoples noses but Terre d'Hermès is dirty compared to Declaration. I don't like it at all and in my opinion it doesn't smell anything like Cartier Declaration.

    Saltwater and Cypress 5/10 In the air it was nice, but the mid note of green mango sits sour on the skin. Would not recommend.

    S&BV is okay but imo overhyped. Franck Olivier Oud Vanille is essentially the same thing but far more rich with much better longevity, worth the few bucks more. My favorite Cremo is Blue Cedar & Cypress, which shares the main accords with Hugo Boss Hugo (the OG canteen) and Hugo Man (big letters canteen)...and you can tell in a side by side.

    • @WifeMadeThaStew
      @WifeMadeThaStew ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joesandstrom4111 I have jazz club. Now that you say that I can see the similarity in concept. However, the execution is miles apart. The Cremo version smelled like bottom shelf whisky poured in a vanilla scented trash bag.

    • @joesandstrom4111
      @joesandstrom4111 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WifeMadeThaStew I’d like to get my nose on the real Replica Jazz Club, as I figured it’s likely more refined, but I prefer to stick to the ‘cream of the crop’ cheapies.. The source I heard the clone comparison from said 85% in similarity. Bourbon Vanilla is one of my least favorites from the Cremo’s line as it just seems a bit too spicy (reminds me somewhat of a Red Hots candy). Plus, it’s in a similar category to Cremo’s Bourbon and Oak and Spice and Black Vanilla, which are much better fragrances, and with the redundancy I’d rather stick to those latter 2. Honestly, I don’t get much vanilla from Bourbon Vanilla, seems more like a hot, spicy, cinnamon potpourri. I mostly use it to layer with other scents, (mostly Bourbon and Oak, SBV, Distillers Blend, and Vintage Suede) as I’m not overly crazy about the scent profile on its own. Layering (or mixing) the various scents together can create some interesting results and help produce more longevity or potency to some.

    • @joesandstrom4111
      @joesandstrom4111 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WifeMadeThaStew Also, when you mention Bourbon Vanilla may have similar concept to Jazz Club, but lacks some execution... that reminds me of Cremo’s Bourbon and Oak, which is in a very similar vein as CH Men Privé. It does lack some of the refinement and sophistication that CH Men Privé has, but there are moments where the similarities are uncanny. I’ve often put a 50/50 mix in my decanters to make my CH Men Privé last longer.
      I’ve also noticed by adding some SBV to Bourbon and Oak, and then adding a bit of a suede leather fragrance to it, I’ve been able to get a mix that is nearly indistinguishable from CH Men Privé.
      In fact, now that I’m thinking about all this, I need to try adding some Smokey and leather fragrances to the Bourbon Vanilla to see how that might work, because I feel that’s precisely what’s missing. It lacks on the leather and tobacco, being too over-powered by hot spice.
      When it comes to Cremo, however, I love the flexibility of having around 5 fragrances (of near clones of niche fragrances) for the price of 1 designer fragrance. This gives choice and the ability to play perfumer a bit, by mixing and matching. Plus, Cremo’s fragrances are almost always bangers that have a certain minimalistic nature to them, detectable yet subtle, with a more niche than commercial sensibility. They are pretty much niche barbershop versions of designer fragrances, subtle and masculine.
      SBV is for sure a banger and a bargain at that!

  • @atomicrancher3745

    Completely disagree! Cremo Palo Santo smells nothing like Givenchy Reserve Privee. Palo Santo is a close clone to Le Labo Santal 33. I have both and have a hard time telling them apart. Cremo longevity is poor. Santal 33 is a beast…..all day gorgeous fragrance.

  • @joesandstrom4111
    @joesandstrom4111 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You are SO far off by comparing Givenchy Gentlemen Reserve Privee to Cremo’s Palo Santo that it’s not even funny! They are not even close, with scent profiles on complete opposites of the spectrum. I’m not sure where you got this information, but it certainly wasn’t from smelling them. I’ve just lost all credibility to the reviews provided on this channel.
    I’ve worn Palo Santo for over a year and am very familiar with its scent. Just recently I finally got my nose on Gentlemen Reserve Privee. These are way different in every single aspect and I’m so embarrassed over this comparison that it’s actually cringe.
    Gentlemen Reserve Privee is powdery and floral, with a predominant soft Iris, leaning feminine. Palo Santo is solid and woody, with a very distinct and strong dill pickle scent, leaning masculine.
    I’d be rather disappointed and quite upset if I bought either of these under the pretense that they smell ‘similar’.
    Personally, if this was my content, I’d be so embarrassed by this comparison that I’d delete this video.
    Its been days since I visited this video and I still can’t get over how wrong that comparison is.

      @@SomethingThatSCREAMS Thanks for the reply. I like Spice and Black Vanilla. I’ve bought a few more that I didn’t like. There are so many. I wish they had samples somewhere.
      I’d like to find one that is more on the fresh, light side. I like Tommy Bahama St. Barts, something like that.
      Summer scent, good for the beach, etc.
      Spice and Black Vanilla is more a winter, warm, spicy vibe. Which I also like.
