By the way, no malayalam film mocks the languages of any country, much less within the country. The ego and the superiority complex of tamils wrt their language is no secret. So its no wonder they mock it all they want. For the bollywood, they don't care. They have much more important things to worry about, like, how much fakeness and over dramatism and masala to add to their acting as such. At least they fail to do any damage other than delude their own people from knowing actual Malayalam, since now Malayalam films are accessible for everyone all over the world.

@ user-v2qdfg-v53e, they still couldn't find good Malayalam lyrics. Bro, the so-called Malayalam portion in manasilayo doesn't even sound Malayalam. And what kind of hatred are you talking about? I guess for most Malayalis, our second favorite language is always Tamil, and we respect Tamil. I don't know why you think we hate Tamil or Tamil people. Tamil movies are also very popular in Kerala, and we are the ones who supported good movies like Meizhagan when your own people rejected it.

Malayalam is a beautiful language just like any other language, so we are irritated for using it in a vulgar way. Especially, when there is a 300 crore budget for the film we expect something more decent. We have great many singers to carry both Tamil and Malayalam pronunciation very well, and yet the songs sound very pathetic.
It's not hatred, we are just pointing out that the so called ' Malayalam ' is not our sweet Malayalam.
For better understanding, please switch the situation.

And it's not just that one song, the song in GVP's movie too. Amaran was such a beautiful movie, but it was so hard to watch because of the cringe-worthy Malayalam dialogues, and especially that "oii Mammootty" by SK was getting on my nerves. This video is not just about Tamil but also other industries. It seems like a trend nowadays to add Malayalam words into anything and make fun of our language either knowingly or unknowingly. Just imagine the reverse situation like the user mentioned above. @WranglerDude maybe in real life he had called her. But it should have been shortened, I can clearly say that the filmmakers have exaggerated things. Original Indhu and family may think it was for the sake of the cinema. The fact is original one suggested Sai Pallavi to do her character, so she adjusted that 'Malayalam'. At the promotion time also Indhu was asked to call 'MUKUNDE' but she did it in a fine way and when we see the real photos Indhu seems to be normal, in this movie Indhu is shown as very eccentric......don't know why

I haven't watched the English version of this video but I did the Malayalam one. There at the end, you went, 'I don't know why I am making a huge deal out of it'. I mean it is a big deal. Jackie Chan speaks Malayalam in the perfect sense in 'The Myth', and the people who claim that we share the same basic script and structure don't even bother to make an effort? I mean the lack of remorse on Anirudh when he talks about the 'Manasilayo' lyrics is downright disrespectful. If it were Tamilians, they would rage a war on others. And just because of this reason, I haven't even bothered to listen to that song, and I felt a little better when the 2 states went 'dingiri dingiri' on the tamil lyrics on 'Hulla re' song😌

I believe the reason behind stereotypes is often jealousy. Many Malayalam movies evolve into irreplaceable classics and praised globally, whereas films from other industries, despite heavy investments and extensive promotions, often fail to achieve the same level of success. Unlike other industries that focus on promoting movies based on their actors, Malayalam movies are celebrated and promoted as a distinct cinematic genre, highlighting the strength of their storytelling and cultural identity. World Malayalam itself is a brand now

Anirudh is strictly an unprofessional composer; the song "Manasilayo" literally proves it. He didn't even bother to hire a Malayalam lyricist to write the Malayalam lyrics. This is where ARR and others shine. Even DSP did a very good job with Malayalam lyrics in the song "Peelings" from Pushpa 2. Fun fact: even Malayali Anirudh fans try to justify this very unprofessional act by saying it's just a fun thing.
Thaman was also unprofessional, which i never expected from him.

U r absolutely right...in malayalam movies tamil songs and characters are portrayed with atmost perfection...but in other languages especially tamil... they claim to write Malayalam in some songs...but end up making a crap like manasilayo..songs in rebel... also the characterisation and language of malayalalis portrayed in tamil films is extremely disgusting to watch for us malayalis...because they are still of the fascination that kerala means set saree worn girl...field and temple ..sadya only ...and the language improvisation in those movies of malayalis is too very bad....in short nammade bhashaye konn kolavilikua🥴

When tamils represent malayalis or our culture they will always show aalapuzha ,houseboats, onam, white saree, tea kada nair and kathakali .And their obsession with Kerala girls is on another level there are many tamil people milking Kerala girls for view and their obsession with fair skin.

@rahulkrishna8438 I know that bro...I am studying in Tamil Nadu only...some of them say here like malayali penkuti kanan romba alaganu...and it's highly irritating...their fascination and crave for malayalis is always malayali girl with set saree and onam and houseboats nothing else

Dude I totally agree with your observations, and have you noticed how Hindi spoken in Malayalam movies is similar to Malayalam in Tamil movies. Any representation of Sardarjis in mallu movies are laughable at the least. Remember Punjabi house? In the Punjabi language they don't call their brothers 'bhaiya' 😂. If they have to show a location anywhere remotely north of the vindhyas, you'll see a fixed template of random people wearing kurtas, fake Sikh turbans, and women wearing saree on the right shoulder. You are right, it takes some sincere efforts to get these details right.

I may be wrong but I think “manasilayo” is just something like “Arabic kuthu”, I see it as a song with a bunch of Malayalam words thrown away at places to make it rhyme and not supposed to make sense…even anirudh’s Tamil songs have random Tamil words at places where it is not required to..

  • @Fug_azi

You could make an argument here as the musical representation of Malayalam in today’s movies isn’t about understanding or speaking the language fluently-it’s about evoking the essence of Malayalam and bringing its cultural flavor to a wider Indian audience.
Songs like Jiya Jale exemplify this beautifully. While most listeners may not grasp the beautiful meaning of the Malayalam verses, the rhythm, melody, and phonetics create a distinct vibe that transcends language, making it memorable and deeply evocative of Kerala’s charm.

I wrote similar comment when they released the song from vettaiyyan that a lyricist or Anirudh cannot do such injustice to a classic languae in india.
Though you mentioned ARR for letting MG sreekumar to sing in Dilse but look at how he did Aadujeevitham song which you missed here. It is a malayalam movie and still just watch the lyric translation given in the video song “ omane”. Either they could have written in malayalam or a better manglish. Thanks

Very lame of them to make half-committed efforts. It is comical.
Latest good example of our efforts are seen in the movie Mura.
In that movie the tamil characters are speaking their mother tongue as it should be spoken.
