- This is part 11 of a 100% walkthrough of Banjo Kazooie (XBLA version). This part includes the final boss and end of the game. This is one of my all-time favorite games and I just recently decided to purchase the Xbox Live Arcade version of it.
This channel features instructional & highly edited video game guides, walkthroughs, speedruns and other uniquely transformative videos. This final boss is infuriating. The beak bomb attack is hands down the most frustrating move in this entire game. Especially with the abysmal camera system.

+MumboJumbo ! Oh wow...You couldn't be more serious than this. I did play Banjo-Tooie, and I think the sequel did well to keep up with its predecessor, but Nuts & Bolts was not the game everyone expected. Yes, it is average and original game, but in spirit, its dead. It wasn't the platform format that was done back in 1998. Tooie was improved on, but cannot come across with the original first game, but since the Microsoft Buyout, things for Rare was nothing but a shell of its former self. That is what I was talking about back in June.

Because it’s horribly made and full of cheap and artificial difficulty. It there’s too many phases with horrible mechanics and way too many ways to die in stupid ways. Rare was notoriously bad at final bosses

Banjo Kazooie has some of the funniest cutscenes in video games.
Wow! You have to get 94/100 jiggies and 90% of the notes to fight Gruntilda. Talk about almost literally having to get a perfect game in order to win.

Immanuel Weaver I struggled my first time playing the game, did better my second time, and I mastered it my third time playing the game. So in all fairness, if it’s your first time playing it, don’t fret, it’ll get easier over time.
Yes. Gruntilda was hard, but she was certainly a very rewarding boss once you got the hang of it. (◠‿◕)

Me too. Some may see him as a doormat. I disagree. He's a sad soul who has no way to escape Grunty, no matter how hard he tries. For some reason, Grunty always finds him, drags him back to her side and then the vicious cycle of abuse would start again. It's really sad when you think about it. 😢

Let me remind you that this version of the ending never mentioned nuts & bolts as this was for the Xbox live arcade version. The original n64 version did do the beach getaway, but the secrets weren’t really talked that much upon. I know this because I 100% the n64 cartridge copy. It didn’t give context on the eggs and or the key.

In the lead up to the release of Yooka-Laylee, some of the developers revealed why Gruntilda shoots one last spell as she falls. That was meant to hit you, and you then had to rescue Banjo and Kazooie, playing as Tooty! It's a pity that that had to be dropped. It reminds me of how in Metroid Prime, there was originally going to be an extra 'escape' section after the final battle, but instead, you magically appear back at the ship!
Yes. It's really a shame that was dropped because Tooty would've been able to repay her brother Banjo for rescuing her. ❤️💕❤️ If only time wasn't a problem.
Eh, I don't know. I can't say I'm not intrigued, but the game ended on a pretty solid note and a pretty epic climax. It might have been a little tedious to do that one extra smaller task after everything else they've done.

And that's how the Jinjonator became Banjo and Kazooie's Final Smash.
So I found out something about when Gruntilda shoots that last green spell before falling off, because I've always never understood why it happened. I don't know if it's completely true or not, but it was the only info I've found about it.
The possible reason why it happens was due to a cut post-game concept where the green explosion was supposedly meant to hit Banjo and Kazooie and turn them into a frog or something, and apparently you'd take control of Tootie to rescue them.
I cannot remember where i read this, but that was the only explanation that I've found out about it.

The flying part of the battle always made me laugh. Talk about turning a witch into a pincushion.
I didn't beat this game before Tooie came out nor did I beat it first. I had to come back to this game after completing Tooie only because as a kid it was infuriating getting all the notes in one life on Click Clock Wood. Needless to say I'm glad I beat both of these games as a kid 🙂

I just realized that Banjo and Kazooie never actually have an attack that defeats Gruntilda. In BK1 she's knocked out by the Jinjonator, in Tooie she got blown up by her own spell, in Grunty's Revenge it's a robot controlled by her spirit not Gruntilda herself. and in Nuts & Bolts L.O.G. interrupts their fight and sentences Grunty to work in his factory.
Just goes to show how resilient Grunty is.
So true! Still, Banjo and Kazooie have taken the credit for defeating Grunty and she knows it was them she's always beaten by. Which is why she hates them and wants revenge against them.

Fun fact, that spell Gruntilda tried to hit Banjo with when she fell WAS supposed to hit him and turn him into a frog, so then Tooty would go on a little adventure of her own to find enough Mumbo Tokens so Mumbo could break the spell, but that was cut for time.

I think if Soggy and Groggy had switched clothing in the first game, then it would have been easier to tell them apart. Because I honestly thought that Groggy was the girl. 😅
