Nice old highway, which needs a little resurfacing in places. Those expansion joints will shake teeth loose. And eight-foot bridge clearances will keep the trucks off the road. Pleasant enough drive.
There is one gripe about this PKWY. I have; and it’s how as soon as you hit Nassau County: BOOM!!! Heavy traffic out of nowhere until I-278/Future I-287. Without fail, I get on this go to Suffolk, no traffic, if not light traffic. But the moment I get to Exits 32N-S, the Nassau-Suffolk Line, BOOM starts heavy traffic. Anyone else who lives in Suffolk or the $outh $hore of Long Island who takes this PKWY. Should know what I’m talking about. Also, does anyone think of how adorably cute those tiny lights are between Exits 35N-S & Exit 34E, or is it just me? Also, the light poles between Exits 28N-S to Exit 12N are the same ones that NJ uses but white and what Virginia uses on rest areas on the I-81/Virginia Thwy. Corridor. Pardon the many edits, but Exits 28AN-AS- Seaford-Oyster Bay Expy. Is one way or another going to be I-287 once I find a way to get the Long Island Sound Tunnel proposal started up again with TUNNEL EXITS. Making sure it also JCTs with the Wantagh State Expy./Pkwy. To make the New York Metropolitan Beltway. Via Long Beach & Linden Blvd. Exit 21 is the center exit of Nassau, A.K.A. Central Nassau. Plus, the SSP was made when cars/automobiles only ran at 30 M.P.H. (≈50KPH). That’s why the on/off ramps are so short, basically signing your death warrant if not carful or praying to god that you don’t hit a driver, The barrier, or a brick wall. And if you miss your exit, too bad. Go at the next exit. That also explains the bending and curves as well. Also, also, nice catches of NICE Bus & SCT.
The traffic once you hit Nassau can be explained by Route 110’s heavy and consistent merge. Then, there’s several major interchanges at the Bethpage Parkway which ends at the SSP, 135 which can get crowded, the wantagh parkway (which is actually light going west, merging east is a nightmare), the the meadowbrook which can get bad too. You have about 3-4 major highways piling a huge portion of their traffic into the SSP which gets progressively worse the closer to NYC you get.

Just be glad that you're not in Long Island in the Summer Time. Lots of traffic during that time, ESPECIALLY when headed towards the beaches.
Oh yeah I heard. It's probably really nice in warmer weather.
Great job and I love it

I think I've driven this on the way to Long Island? Or is that only the LIE?
Probably the LIE. It seems faster to use that one that this.
