    I loved how Isreal’s lean back left hook was the same move that lead to the TKO of both Whittaker and Costa

    • @zeeshawn15
      @zeeshawn15 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And right before that sequence he kind of tried the same sequence to calculate distance and reaction time. Costa tries a left jab and a left hook as Isreal moves his head to the left and back and throws a right and left hook combo in which he landed the left to the temple... amazing sequence...

    So there are 2 different types of defense philosophies in striking and most people use a blend of both. These are shell defense and evasive defense. Shell defense is often used with combination of footwork going sideways when you disappear into your high guard and use your elbows and footwork to avoid body blows while creating opportunities for counters. This kind of defense is very effective against feints and that’s what Jan was using in his fight vs Reyes. In stark contrast Adesanya almost always uses torso and head movements along with footwork to achieve the same thing - this is the evasive defense.
    The common denominator here and the key to both of their successes, is their footwork

    Rewatching the Izzy Costa fight I am less convinced that Paulo just didn't do anything. Israel was very very locked in and active about staying out of range and keeping him at bay with kicks. People look at Israel and think he's too thin to hurt you but he's not. He has knocked people out through his career. Probably the last thing a fighter wants to get caught with in there, aside from an arm bar, is a vicious head kick or knee and Israel does those things in spades.

    Seemed like Costa knew he couldn't make it through all 5 so plan was to get through the first 2 with low activity, then turn it up once he knew he would have enough gas in the tank to get to the finish if required...but that clearly didn't work out. Only reason I can think of why he wouldn't just turn it into a brawl, or take it to the ground from the on-set and instead played Izzy's game at distance.

    I have the same looking lump under my left nipple. For me it’s caused by postural issues, so when I get a tight pec muscle it causes a swelling/lump under my nip. It’s to do with shoulder girdle stability.
    I don’t know specifically what’s happening but I think it’s maybe to do with lack of lymph flow or something.
    If I deep tissue massage my pec and/or do certain shoulder posture exercises, it goes away.

    10:29 About izzys right pectoral abnomaly. Brian Sutter a doctor that commentates on sports made a video about it:
    th-cam.com/video/4r5hobVG7YY/w-d-xo.html
    In short, because its only one pec and not both, is not steroids or an hormonal imbalance. He said is pseudogynecomastia most likely caused by some sort of trauma to the pec (a hit or something like that in sparring).
    I noticed that pectoral when fight week started. The first video i could find where izzy has it is EMG's all access road to UFC 253 when they just arrived in abu dhabi.

      His argument that Gynecomastia should be bilateral in steroid use is dumb. If a guy is predisposed to it, it can be unilateral whether it advanced by steroid use or natural estrogen production. 90% of Gynecomastia cases are bilateral so the 10% of guys who get it will be one sided no matter what the cause, .
