    The S stands for slow speed. The H stands for high speed. Also it's a 3 speed impact driver on that tool. To get the most out of that impact wrench you need a 3.0 battery or higher. 👌 it makes all the difference in that tool. Any impact wrench should have the bigger batteries. Mine came with 3.0 amp hour batteries. 👌 I have the impact driver and impact wrench kit. Same charger but better batteries came with mine. Same tool bag also. 👌

    Great video as always. Did you know Makita is the only tool company that owns & makes it's own tools?!! I am sure they contract out many parts made for their tools, but unlike all other makers, they are solely Self Owned & Operated!! No "Parent" company. I research Everything! Lol

      They are made in China, just like Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc, but they are definitely great tools. And makita is right up there with Milwaukee quality. Better deals on the makita stuff. 👌 I've been buying a lot of makita cordless tools the past few months . And I'm happy with all of them so far.

    That Makita isn't mid-range. It's a compact class impact wrench. Makita doesn't have a mid-range yet, and it's kind of annoying that they're taking so long to make one.
    The Makita XWT11 is meant to compete against Dewalt 890/880 and Milwaukee 2755-20. Also, Mid-range wrenches weigh ~5-5.5 lbs with battery. The XWT11/2755-20/890 are in the range of ~3.5-3.8 lbs with a 5.0.

    • @jasonlevesque9303
      @jasonlevesque9303 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but the makita 18v best impact wrench has 750 ft pounds of torque. That's one of the best ones they make right now. It's around $250-$270 in different stores, but comes with 2 5.0 batteries in the kit. 👌 been waiting for it to go a bit lower on price then I'll get it.

    That is not the mid range that's the compact impact the mid range is about the size of the DeWalt and also worth noting that's those impacts are more powerful in reverse.

  • @kenshirogenjuro873

    I feel this is more specifically geared for peripheral automotive stuff, to rapidly take lug nuts off cars and trucks and other lighter things. It just has to loosen nuts with such and such torque after which there isn’t any load anymore so it rapidly spins it off. Totally different from driving lags into wood. And I’m not sure if it should be called mid-torque. Seems mid-torque these days beings around 500ftlbs and this is less than half of that. Doesn’t make it a bad tool at all, I just think it was built for a very specific purpose and testing it in ways outside of its intended use just may not get flattering results.

    • @ManCaverTools
      @ManCaverTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. since it doesn't have the power it looks like it has.

    When my Ryobi nicad batteries died. I thought about switching to makita since I needed new batteries anyway.
    I did not make the switch because of how little real estate makita gets in hole depot. They have a huge line. I think it’s bigger then Ryobi’s and definitely crazier. Makita has an ebike and 2 coffee makers (might be down to just one now). But you can only buy like 15 tools at Home Depot from the makita line.
    I went with the Ryobi cause I liked seeing all their tools out. And they had committed to the stem battery pack design. So I wouldn’t be starting from 0 again.
    Also I like how you number your videos. Keep up the great work!!

    I’ve heard people say this is just the regular impact driver with a 1/2 chuck.
    Edit: just watched your hart vs Ryobi vid and the hart sunk the 5in lag in like 25 secs and this makita took 35 secs on the 6 incher which kinda confirms my suspicion 🤷‍♂️

    • @ManCaverTools

      that is false sir. that is why they make different type of batteries among most brands. Fuel, Flex and HP

  • @darrenalkire5281
    @darrenalkire5281 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    High has the most power duhhh. You turn it down for delicate work or just dont throttle it as much. That 3 speed thing is not necessary as far as im concerned since there is a variable throttle. Dude amp hours has nothing to do power. It means run time.

    • @ManCaverTools
      @ManCaverTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      More AH you have the more the power can be retained from the battery. Because more cells are being used to do a single task which lets the tool use more of the power that is already in the battery. if you drive in a 5" lag with a 1.3 ah battery the cells would be majorly stressed out and will have a tough time to do the job. If you have a 5ah battery the tool will use the power it already has easier with less stress on the cells. So it will do the 5" lag faster than the 1.3 ah battery.18v is 18v. Even though its only ding 1 Lag screw. so duration has nothing to do with 1 screw. More cells you have the better the tool will perform withe the power it already has.

  • @pete1323
    @pete1323 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is no precision mode. Only “high” illuminated works in reverse and stops spinning as soon as the fastener is loose and free spinning. Oh yeah, it’s not a midrange impact either

    • @ManCaverTools
      @ManCaverTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought it was since dewalt had a mid range around the same size, but I am sorry if I am mistaken. im new to the electonic settings.

      @@ManCaverTools cool they expensive the batteries like bigger batteries are better cause put out more amps from the better cells the 3ah only has 1500mah cells a think and 5ah has 2500mah cells 3000 in the 6ah

    • @darrenalkire5281
      @darrenalkire5281 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally wrong more amp "HOURS" only gives you more run time. The actuall amp draw is no different between large and small. A 2amphour has as much power as a 6 amphour but the 6 will run 3 times longer. Please know this if you are doing tool reviews.

    The real question: how do you make enough money to buy them tools?

  • @cheveresalvi
    @cheveresalvi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just the H illuminated is an auto stop mode that works in reverse.
    S -H just means Soft - Hard. So you'll want all 3 bars to be lit up to use it purely on its maximum setting.
    And yes I've found this is another beast when increasing the battery size, try a 5 or 6 ah on it and you'll definitely notice a difference man!
    As others have said it, won't be fair putting it up against other mid range wrenches as this is a compact wrench.

  • @MannyOnePointFour
    @MannyOnePointFour 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why on earth would you use a measly 2.0 Ah battery with only 5 cells in an impact wrench? No wonder it struggled with those bolts - you just choked the impact wrench with that battery. Next time use a 5.0 Ah battery then watch the difference. With 10 cells in the larger battery, the voltage drop wouldn’t be reduced as much.

    Again, its a wrench NOT a driver. Your not using it for its intended use. Just Saying...You do great reviews, but it helps to review tools for their intended useage...Nuts & Bolts NOT driving lags.
