- First my go to brushes that I use in nearly every painting. Then a brand new to me brush that I have fallen in love with that works like magic, holds lots of paint but makes a fine point.

Thank you for this beautiful video ❤ From Quebec, Canada 🍁
You’re welcome. I’m glad you found it helpful!
Thank you!
You’re Very Welcome!
For base washes, rewetting an area or to gently lift colour I use a Goat Hake. I used to have problems with streaky sky washes or paint lifting when I rewetted, but not any more. The Goat Hake has been the best addition I’ve made to my brush collection and I use all the time.
Thanks for the input. Sound exactly how I feel about the quill made with synthetic squirrel.
Thanks for this. I'm just starting watercolor and picking brushes is making me extra neurotic! Finding a good brush for any medium can be very personal, but it's also expensive to go in blind, so every demonstration helps a lot!
I’m so glad this was helpful! Welcome to watercolor fun!
I have now gone through and found all of these brushes that I could fine. They are now in the comments under the video. I hope this list is helpful to you!
Thanks so much.
You’re very welcome!
I’m thankful I found you! Would you ever consider keeping your reference picture on screen as you work? I really think it would help us see what you are referring to as you shade. Such great teaching! Thank you.
Thank you for the suggestion. I did do that one or two times but then it was hard for people to see what the brush was doing. I’ll think about It though and see if I can come up with a plan.
If you have tried a new brush and loved it, tell us about it in the comments.
Can you tell me the name and brand of the funny rigger you showed?
It is called a dagger brush and the brand is Silver.

Loving your demos. Where did you get your palette? Love the big wells and big mixing space.
That palette is called Premium Palette. You can find them online. Each well holds a whole tube of paint. If you choose to buy one, would you please tell her I sent you? I am trying to work out something that will help us both.
Great review demo. So helpful. But I'm not seeing the link to shop for your signature brush set below the video. Also not seeing one for the brushes with the 3-5 prongs for painting pine needles, etc. Not sure you mentioned what those are called so we know how to search for them.
My original link broke and I haven’t been able to find all the brushes again. I’m still hoping to get it done. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Becky - I love this episode about your favorite watercolor brushes and I'm interested in investing in your favorite quillbrush but the link under the video is broken. Can you help?
Thanks for letting me know. Sorry I can’t get a super quick answer. I looked and need to do a bit more looking. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I’m so sorry for the delay.
Hi Tony, I just added several links to the comments under this video. It is not an exact match to what is in the video, but I have not been able to find all of them, especially on Amazon. DICK BLICK does have a minimum purchase for free shipping but their prices are cheaper to start with. This list also includes a brand new favorite - Silver Atelier squirrel blend quills! Oh my! They are so amazing. Hope this helps!

Becky, did you say Spokane?
Not I’m the city but in the county. Are you from Spokane?
I wish you'd have printed the name of the brush or restated them. This was very helpful, but I missed the name of the first brush. So helpful though. Much appreciated.
The first brush was a quill. I showed 4 different sizes of them. Unfortunately I am not techy enough to add words to my videos.
@The Watercolor Classroom - Becky Gromlich if you go into the Dashboard for TH-cam (where you can upload videos, add titles etc.) you can easily add on-screen text with the built-in editing tools. It's easier than it sounds, even for non tech people. You can also add information about anything in your video in that same editing tools. Take a little tour of that Dashboard! I know you're smart enough to figure it out, because you're an artist! I do find using a PC with a monitor easier than mobile, because there is more room for the menu I the Dashboard.
For some reason I just found this six months late! Thank you so much for your advice. I appreciate you taking the time to explain all this! I have since started editing in iMovie but am still a beginner. I hope I can edit this one in TH-cam as you suggested - when I get a minute to breathe!
Hi Susan. I have just added a partial list of these brushes in my comments. I'm hoping to do a new video about brushes since I've just discovered my all time favorite brush! I now can add words to videos and also have some affiliate links in my comments for those interested.
