thanks for the instruction.. could it be done to a cylinderical face ? it would be better if we could use it for example; imagine a pipe and making a specific slot as well as a cap that fits into this slot.. I have several dozens of this to make in a assembly. Even if I managed to create this slot dimensions as one positive/part (instead of a negative/hole kind of feature that may be done by this smart feature), then I inserted this part to the assembly and use cavity feature from the base part which needs to one more step to extract the positive/slot part.. Any ideas ?

These things are so so far ahead of inventor iFeatures that it's not even funny...
