Dude, not sure why your numbers are down, but what attracted me to your channel in the first place was the name " dork in the road" because even though I've been riding motorcycles on and off for 50+ years, I haver never considered myself an " expert" , but more of an everyday dork like you, so your channel felt like a relatable, fun, safe place to be. Just continue to be you!
Think the numbers are due to repetition. Video 1: New bike, great, wonderful, unicorn, love, hate. Mr. Puff Puff. Next Video 2: Training, awesome, great, learned a lot, instructors wonderful, Food great. Mr. Puff Puff. BDR Video 3: Riding, technical, ooo, ahhhh. wow, camp, Mr. Puff Puff. Next video 4: Rinse and repeat starting with Video 1. Mr. Puff Puff goes you numbers. And don't forget to be excellent to my numbers.
50 years on 2 wheels here. Your channel is great and the humor alone is cool. Who gives a shit if you change your mind on riding glasses and now get a little from them. Not me… just keep on keepin on. Life’s a garden dig it👈 Joe dirt ref. Haha. Merry Christmas or whatever you do.
Numbers are also down probably because of time of year. Riding season is mostly done in NA, with him being American, I’m sure that’s his largest segment of his viewer base.
Mate , it doesn’t matter what the subject or who you are , it’s about respect ! If someone doesn’t show respect then they can F@ck off simple as that take care mate 👍🏼
Ok, I have a lot to say but I'm going to try and be brief. I have been watching your content from almost the beginning. I didn't own a bike at the time and I'm not an ADV rider. I watch your channel because I like your presentation and enjoy the entertainment. Next, the Ads, those folks complaining about your sponsors. I challenge them to find a monetized channel that doesn't have sponsorship. You have to feed little Dork and pay the bills. I think you do it the right way with the chapter thing. You are one of the most down to earth TH-camrs that I watch. Keep up the good work. I currently have 3 bikes and none of they will see as much as a gravel road. I ride 10k-12k miles a year. You keep up the good work we will follow.
Dude, you have nothing to apologize about. You and Ian are the best offroad motorcycle channels: You've both ridden everything, tried every product, and you're thorough, meticulous, and honest with your reviews and experiences. Your credibility, integrity, and knowledge, are beyond question. Your content is good for everyone, both budget and high end, and you're running a business, of course you have to do ads, most reasonable people would realize that. Keep doing what you're doing, and doing what you want, it's your channel, and thanks for the content!
TH-cam is negative income stream. I don’t think most folks realize just how much time and effort goes into it and how much out of pocket creators are for many many years trying to build a channel. I’ve always told you how happy I am for you and you living your dream. I’ve cheered at your successes and have enjoyed watching the growth. I am mad at you tho for inspiring me to try and do it for myself 😛👍🏻(joking) Thanks for video Ben, I’m still here watching and supporting 👊🏽
Hey Dork, 74 years old here and have watched you from the beginning. As a meager TH-camr myself, I understand how incredibly time intensive it is to produce this free content. Though I do it for fun and as a creative outlet, it is work. I can't imagine the pressure of full time and staying relevant in the small niche of ADV motorcycling. You have incredible presence. Stay encouraged, and Ill stay watching. Merry Christmas!
Your passion for dual sport gave me enough of an itch to buy a CRF300L. I'm very blessed to have your guidance and experience packaged in your videos. Genuinely thank you for being you❤
Like many of the commenters above, I had stopped riding motorcycles at a young age. I am definitely one of the folks that you have inspired. I now have a dual sport and an adventure bike and I have been moto camping now for a couple of years. I would have never had the courage to attempt a BDR, but did my first one 2 years ago. Thank you. I was supposed to be part of the training class in British Columbia, but I got injured pretty badly the week before the trip started. I was disappointed about missing the adventure and also disappointed that I didn't get to meet you and tell you in person how much I appreciate what you're doing. When my kids were little they would get hyped and excited when they would hear the theme song for The Muppet show. It would make their day. As a 63-year-old guy, I have to admit, every time I hear your theme music it brings a little smile to my face. Thank you for doing what you do.
You are one of 5 people that i get new content alerts. You are a relatabe, mid 40s moto rider from the PNW that is entertaining to watch. The places you go are inspiration to get out and have fun on 2 wheels. I wish inlived closer to dirt trails. As always, keep up the good work. I hope you get to keep doing this as long as you can. Thanks Dork!
Your comment, "When I stop to think something sucks, or is boring or hard or I don't feel like editing right now, I just think, you could be in a classroom right now in front of 34 angry freshman and I really appreciate what it is I get to do." Ben, with two boys (who were freshman not too long ago) in high school, this has got to be one of the most sobering thoughts out there. LOL! 🙂 My two boys and I love watching your channel, especially during the winter time when we don't do a lot of dirt bike riding. Keep up the great work man!
Hey Ben, I appreciate you and your friendship! You took me along with you when you didn’t even really know me, answered my questions and were patient with me when I was trying to figure out how to be slightly competent at TH-cam. (I’m still not good at it.) I appreciate your opinions, your enthusiasm for riding and most everything associated with riding, as well as your focus on new/intermediate riders, where many of us live our motorcycling journey. The haters will hate, mostly because they wish they could do what you get to do. You are living the life/dream you set in front of you and it’s truly awesome to see! You worked freaking hard to get there too with multiple videos a week and working well outside your comfort zone. Keep smashing your goals and enjoy the journey! I’ll keep watching! And maybe one day we can do an “old school” moto camping video for old times sake.
Ben, I think Crittermoto hit the nail on the head. There is soo much work that goes into a 15 minute video and until you do it you have no idea! I watch you because you are the most down to earth Motorcycle channel out there and the guy I would like to hang out and ride with. I have seen your skills get better in the process and if it takes you showing people how you did that that's great! There are probably cheaper skill classes but you are showing what is out there and that's good. I'm In Cali so maybe some day we see each other on the trail!
I think I bring this up every now and then but to me your magic sauce is that you're a professional educator and that unique perspective shines through in all your videos. To me that would be a great place to reset to when in doubt on where to take the channel. And THANK YOU for not being a cringy moto-jitsu "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG" ride-bro clone, but coming from a perspective of self-growth and learning opportunity as well.
I like Dork in the Road because it's a channel about a regular guy running his TH-cam channel the way he wants to run it. I feel like if I made a some different life decisions, that could very well be me. Imagine if I had to go on long motorcycle adventures for work. I'd definitely go for it. I appreciate the fact that all the sponsors relate to the content. I feel like everything here is real, honest, and humble. The sentiment "why would you pay that much for these... oh, that's why" fits in perfectly with "why would you buy a KTM... oh, that's why." I don't think I would be hearing about Flying Eyes if they sucked. Ben, keep up the good work. Thank you for your content and your honesty. Also, thank you for the discount code I used to get my Giant Loop Round the World Panniers a while back.
Ben you have nothing to worry about because you just make youtube that much more fun, especially if others are like me and love the type of content that you upload on your channel. Ben keep doing what you do best being you.
Dork - don't get caught up in that stuff. Control what you can - I delete the negatives on my channel and the stuff I can't control I don't think about, nor actively go looking for negative. Never respond or try to rationally debate with them. If you were on the street and someone randomly walked up to you and started insulting you, that would be viewed as abnormal behaviour. The internet is no different. Shine a light on the positive and don't give darkness light. Merry Xmas. Keep doing what you're doing.
As a chef owner of a small restaurant for the past 18 years, I definitely (and unfortunately) relate to the random review and critics that makes you scratch your head with a "WTF". Actually just today there was one 😮... For the most part, it's very positive, and surely the same for your channel. But there's always one or two that generate a WTF moment. Also, like you I read all the reviews and try to figure out if we did something wrong or if there's communication/perspective issue. It's very helpful for a small business.... But, yeah. Sometimes...,🤔🤷. Keep up the good work. Your channel is informative and fun. What made me subscribed and makes me want to watch your videos is the fact that you seem like a genuine average guy who's having fun and provide experience via videos. That's great. Thank you.
LOL my friend owns and runs a cafe, the comments and reviews he gets are insane. eg. "they didn't even warm the croissant" when getting a fresh croissant and coffee. He is an absolute artisan baker and his fresh croissants are superb. Some people just want a whinge.
Ben, as someone who has been here for a few years, and watched you struggle with restructuring the channel... I totally understand and appreciate it. I can't think of any dork video I haven't enjoyed in some capacity. Also, I understand that this is your job and that you have to mix it up with bikes and experiences. Keep it up big guy.
Ben: I’ve been following you and your channel for years. Thank you for all of your effort. You and Ian are two of my favorite TH-camrs. I am so glad to see your hard work translating into success!
Ben, keep rockin'! I won't say every single video is compelling to me, but the premise of your channel is, as is your relatability to many riders like me, who are just dorking around in their own right. Can't wait to see the KLX 300 on the channel.
Ben, I really enjoy seeing the evolution of the channel. The trips and training videos help to show us what to expect if we were thinking about taking a BRD trip or a training trip, please continue to do this type of content. I'm not fussed about the sponsored videos, fully understand the amount of time and energy that goes into making content and believe that compensation is deserved. Keep up the great work!
I am currently camping with my 6 year old son because of your content. You inspired me to get back in the woods and now I’m camping multiple times a year. Your channel is a force for good in my life and a great source of enjoyment. Appreciate you, bro. 🙏
Your content is great, Ben. Do what you need to in order to financially make it possible to continue and create the life you want. Any trips and products that are expensive for most of us shouldn't stop you from experiencing it and sharing. Enjoy it. I'll never afford Mosko bags but great to hear how other products compare for example. Ive never went moto camping. Still watch all your videos. Have fun doing it and keep the videos coming. Thank you for giving me 20-40 minutes of entertainment weekly.
Ben I’m glad you addressed the “Flying Eyes” paradox. You make great content both high and low budget opinions on gear and adventures. Your video on Tusk, GL, and MM saddlebags was top notch. Doing the low, medium, and high end on gear and trips is something I would enjoy more of. Keep going and I do enjoy your content.
If I may just add my voice to those who support you? A recent Transalp owner here (among other bikes) in rural South Australia, and I was impressed by the way you were initially very critical of this model, but then subsequently bought one, and acknowledged that they are a better machine than you had first thought. Not much in the way of such self-deprecating admissions in this place, and your conversations on this topic were very insightful. Your ability to allow yourself to be seen being occasionally foolish is also refreshing. You come across as intelligent, experienced, and humble, so I just thought to add my support. Plus your conversations with the lovely Grace give us a 'more-rounded' view of you in that context. So keep doing what you do - I can assure you the videos are appreciated. Different, and interesting, with a strong sense of honesty.
I was a Patreon member and have watched everything you put out up until a year ago. I have purchased a lot of my gear based on your videos, I have Travis’s 3 man tiger wall only because it made sense after your comparison. I have a diamond park bag too. So I am not trying to talk shit about Ben. He is a great guy, it’s just that his content has changed and no longer interests me. I think when he had his T7 was his best content. Just because that is when he was doing what “We” can do, like he said in this video. I agree with the comment about how your content has changed. That’s life! I have learned a lot from you and appreciate the effort. Merry Christmas Ben and thanks.
I appreciate content creators who admit that they LIKE motorcycles and evaluate each based upon the target market. It's OKAY to like every bike you ride! Every bike out there will be PERFECT for SOMEONE. You just help identify who that "someone" is. You're correct that you can't just keep pumping out dozens of videos about the same bike over and over…or the same ride. I live in the Southeast and enjoy seeing rides from all over, like the BDR trails in the Northwest, the TAT or others far from me. I'm hoping to make it to South Dakota for the Get On! ADV Fest in July, thanks to content from you and others. As a retired individual new to riding, I appreciate the comparison of the Himalayan 450 to the Ibex 450 as I contemplate a bike big enough to ride TO the trail yet small enough for ME to ride ON it (my everyday "beginner" bike is a 450). As someone new to ADV, I also like equipment reviews as I wonder, "How does he keep his feet dry while riding through that?" I grew up in the 60s with commercial television. I watched Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble smoking in a cigarette commercial. The elves from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in GE ads. Bob Hope with a Pepsodent commercial around the corner from every joke. I can still sing the jingle to only trust your car to the man who wears the star. Those who have grown up watching streaming or cable channels without commercials don't understand that it's necessary to have sponsorships to pay the bills. In every NASCAR driver interview you'll hear something like, "Well, the ABC Printing and Wing Stop Ford kept us in the fight today." And let's not forget the Super Bowl champions who yell that the first thing they're doing after winning the Super Bowl is go to Disney World. Thanks for what you do.
You and Ian are at the top of my reviewer list. The fact that you’re even being retrospective is proof positive that’s far more about us than it is about you.
This is one of most entertaining channels on TH-cam. You keep a quick pace and your comments are relevant as well as funny. Just keep on doing what you do.
I have watched your channel for a couple of years, it is my opinion you absolutely represent the Dork in the road 100%,just keep doing what you do I appreciate what you do. Keep up the great videos and opinions, everyone knows every TH-camr needs to make their channel pay for itself. Keep doing what you do and I will keep watching.
Myself, and I suspect many others, were drawn to your channel for many reasons as we began our journey into adventure riding. Keep being you, my friend!
Was in a bike wreck not too long ago and while recovering came across your vids as well as Ian’s. Y’all have gotten me into an area of bike I never thought of before (I’m a sport bike guy). I think my first ADV will be the Aprilia. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK MY MAN, hope to see you on the trail one day.
Ive always liked how you come across on videos. You seem like a genuinely good guy. I’ve watched videos of yours ranging from basic camping trips to your off-road training and BDR’s and I’ve enjoyed them all in one way or another. It’s inevitable that some people prefer a specific type of video but I think you do a good job in terms of variety. For what it’s worth, I really enjoy your BDR videos. I’ll likely never get to ride those, being a Brit living in the Philippines but I can enjoy them vicariously through yours and Ian’s videos. All the best to you and your channel in 2025.
I, for one, have enjoyed watching you grow in your endeavors. You have persisted in your enthusiasm for offroad, and have given us some great advice and content. This coming from a 72 year old man who has been and still is, an ardent rider for the last 60 years. I have raced in Baja with SCORE three times. You do you and the heck with your detractors. I, for one, will look forward to your next adventure. Thank you.
You’ve always been an amazing ambassador for what we all love to do. Keeping things spread out all over the board is what you’ve always done in my book. You obviously pay attention to what’s going on behind the scenes, just keep being you and swerving when you need to and you’ll be fine!! Thanks for being my internet riding buddy!!
Bro, you are awesome, don’t stop doing what ya do. Even this eating a little crow, is a breath of fresh air. You inspire lots of us to embrace our inner Dorks and get more blue skies over blue screens. One day I hope to catch a ride with ya, though I’m from NJ and that is a hike to Oregon. Maybe the Colorado trip if I can scrape some change together. Ride on Dork, much respect to you Sir.
Appreciate this video and your willingness to listen to the community. I would not be riding without you and you’re telling me to not let my weight hold me back from riding dual sport. I now own 4 bikes and ride as much as I can. Some of us also are growing our skills and will soon have ability to do some of these trips. So I think you should continue your traditional content but also continue doing the trips and exposing us to things we don’t know about til you share with us. Thanks for all you do and the impact that you have had on me personally. Thanks Ben!
You didn't do a bad job at anything, Ben. Don't change a thing. Always enjoy your content. You remind me exactly of my 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Catholic school English teacher, which makes your videos even better. I'm older, getting into ADVs late in life, and I want to combine motocamping with ham radio in my retirement years and your videos have been a big help (and so have 100 other ADV youtubers). Thanks Ben.
I love your channel. It covers all the bases for an average person with an average income who just wants to go out and enjoy the outdoors and ride motorcycles. Sometimes I feel like I am just hanging out with a bunch of rich boys who continuously talk about their new Klim gear and GPS tracks which makes me want to ride alone. Your humble attitude is what makes your content so great. You are the reason why I drove from Texas to Oregon to attend the Giant Loop ride and I am here to say that it was the greatest trip of my life, seriously. That's why I sincerely thanked you at the Texas event this year for the Oregon video and inspiring me. Keep up the great work and I hope to see you next year in Oregon!
Dork, your channel is one of my favorites. I started riding again after my divorce in 2019. Love the diversity of the bikes you review. I have a Ural, a Moto Guzzi Scrambler, a TT85 and Husky 350 FE. Blessed to be able to have these. Learned from great off and on on road riders. You are my life. Rock on. Don't feel bad for your success.
78 years young and love your channel. Variety is the spice of life. Some video’s I like more than others but does not mean I don’t enjoy watching. I do! Your last comment should be Merry Christmas not happy holidays. I understand, but that’s just me, I get it. Merry Christmas dork keep up the great work. 😁
I have been watching you for about a year. I started riding 3 years ago, at 53, but didn't get serious until last year when I bought a 2020 G310GS. I got sick over last winter and ended up in hospital for a month. It was during this time that I discovered you, Ian, and a few other channels that I really came to like. YOU, in particular, gave me the courage to learn this new type of riding at my age, and I had the best summer of my lIfe exploring the back country near Kamloops BC, where I live. This year, I am getting an Ibex 450 and looking forward to more adventures and possibly a BDR. So ignore the haters..., you are awesome!
Keep up the great work Ben. Just tackling this topic and being up front about it demonstrates relatability. Not all your videos resonate with me personally but your sense of humor, approach to treating people well, and respecting your audience does.
Ben this was a great video. Thanks for explaining your thought process ( even though not necessary) if these negative reviews don’t understand how TH-cam works then shame on them. As for the changes in your channel, it has been fun watching the growth and change. I do miss your campfire comedy and your live feeds especially the after party. Keep doing what you do. Watching your videos does motivate me to get off my butt and go ride. I trust your reviews so much I bought my Transalp based on yours and Ian’s reviews. Keep it going
Wow, @kevinsterner really said it well. And I agree fully. And heck yeah, I’d be riding every new bike that came my way if I was in your position. I believe you’ve reached a new level now, where you have enough real world experience that you can speak about gear and motorcycles with credibility. I’ll keep watching if you’ll keep producing!
It's great that you can show the big opportunities. I might not be able to relate to every one you can do, but you show what is accessible for me. I might go on one big trip every few years, but you allow me to picture myself there.
I don’t care what others say. As a guy who’s been riding for 39 years (street bikes) and now researching for a dual sport bike your input is crucial for ME to help me decide which bike. PLUS, I really enjoyed the BDR series. I didn’t even know BDR even existed until your videos (which gets me MORE excited about a dual sport bike. TY for being a normal guy (Ian too). Keep rolling!
Do you know about the TAT? I didn’t know about it up until a few years ago, and I know not a lot of riders from the PNW don’t talk about it very much, because they have lots of cool places to ride, unlike someone from Louisiana or Mississippi.
Keep doing what you’re doing , I’m 35 , been riding since I was in my teens , and appreciate how normal and relatable you are. Fun channel , and thanks for having the balls to go do something you enjoy
Thank you for the luggage review. Take the money, you earned it. It is evidence of the hard work an average guy does. Between you and Ian's review of the KLX 230, I bought one. Because of that other TH-camr with 2.5 million subscribers, and her detour to Moab, on her way to Alaska, I went there last month with it. Had the time of my life. I'm 71 and there is only so much left. You are in good company. Once again, thank you for practical and good advice for the rest of us average guys.
I found you when I was researching my very first ADV bike, a Honda CB500x. Your videos on it helped me make my decision as I had to buy it without riding it first cause my endorsement didn't get transferred to my new state license. I had a 1250 GS fall into my lap before I ever even got the Honda off road. I recently did my first couple sections of the AZ BDR on the BMW. Your channel helped me see that I already had all the gear I needed from hiking trips and that if Dork could do it, so could I. Thanks Dork!
At this stage in my adventure riding, I love watching your gear review, and trip videos. Doesn't really matter if I can afford it right now or not, I appreciate the information, and getting to see what's out there. Keep being yourself, and I'll keep watching.
haven't watched much of your work - youtube put this episode in front of me - really appreciate your desire to be honest and transparent - look forward to checking out more of your content - cheers
Ben, thanks for what you do. I’m a 60 year old paycheck to paycheck working stiff. I ride a 2022 KLR 650 Adventure that I bought used. I’m telling you all this just for perspective. I think folks kinda forget that they have the power of choice. I’m entertained by your channel, and plan on supporting in the near future. Keep up the good work. 👍
This an extremely mature and level-headed way to respond to criticism. Refreshing in the internet space where everyone is virtue signaling and pretending to be jesus himself. You make good content and do your best to be upfront about as much as possible. Most people simply dont understand the ins and outs of your job as a youtuber day to day. A lot of the criticism seems like normal standard procedures that are just different to the misconceptions people have
As someone starting a moto vlog type channel I appreciated your video and hearing you work through some of those comments. Well done and keep at it, cheers.
Mate, I remember that video about flying eyes, and you were very upfront about why you thought they were too expensive, that you would lose them but that they were premium glasses with a premium price. I only get away a few times a year myself due to work so I don't mind the longer trip rides, as when I do get away I am away for a week or so, but very rarely get away for just the weekend. We all have different tastes and needs, and I believe your content deals with many of those needs. People need to understand things change there is no getting away from that, and as you and they get better at riding camping or whatever other hobby, content and or needs when will change. Much respect, James.
I’m one of those totally satisfied viewers that rarely ever comments on videos. Do your thing and be you and those that relate or are entertained will watch.
You are an inspiration dude! I am also a big guy and I can totally relate to you. I was a cruiser rider until I found your channel. I am now learning and training on my 790 ADV. You and Ian @Bigrockmoto are the ones I watch the most. Don’t let haters slow you down. Keep up the positive vibes and great content!
I am a retired American living in Thailand here they still ride 2 strokes . I am afraid to ride in town , now only riding bicycles . The hot rod pickups are too wild .
Dude. I appreciate your effort to keep this channel real for the dorks in the road. If you spend a couple of videos talking about a west coast trip that I can never ever do, I don’t mind. This video demonstrates your unusually honest approach, and that means a lot to me. Just keep on, and don’t let the critics bruise you too much. Your real audience trusts you and is dedicated to being excellent to each other.
Dude! I went 20 years not riding because I became an adult, work was crazy, then a dad etc. I loved motocross as my obsession as a kid and into college. You got me off of the couch and now I have a Crf450l and a tenere 700 and I got motivated to pursue my obsession once again man. If I ever see you I am running up to you and gonna give you a bear hug. You are real! Your authenticity starts and ends with the name of channel! You are a good dude! You aren’t pompous!!!! You are a blessing!!!!!
Happy Holidays Dork! Don't forget to be excellent to yourself! Life is a grind out here and self-care is important. Thanks for inspiring so many of us to get out there and try new things and adventure to new places. You are appreciated and I look forward to watching more of your videos! Sincerely, an East Coast Dork.
I really enjoy watching your content. You have morals when it comes to transparency and what sponsorships you are willing to take and stick to them. Plus you represent us regular adv riders. Bit of off road fun and a bit of on road travel. You are part of the majority and i love it.
11:10 "Most of the time ppl are looking for validation for a decision they've already made". There's some wisdom in that statement. It tells me you know your audience much better than the un-informed masses think you do. Keep up the great content. I really enjoy your channel. Your humble approach has convinced me that even I can venture off the pavement & start working on my off-road skills.
I watch almost all of your videos and find that while not every video is tailored perfectly to me, there is enough variety that much of your content is very relatable and what isn't is still great entertainment. I really appreciate the variety! Concerning ads or sponsorships, I prefer to see an ad setup like a commercial if a TH-camr just needs the support but may not want to personally promote the product. If they do promote it I'm hoping they truly believe in it. As long as that is clear and seems genuine then I'm good with it. If it appears to be promoted based on personal gain rather than truly believing in it, not a fan. To be clear, you come across very genuine to me and I have no issues with how you have utilized sponsorships. You seem very forthright and honest. Your also never going to make everyone happy but as long as you are honest, it shows no matter what anyone else says or does. I have a theory about Flying Eyes. Almost every adv channel is promoting them now so it is easy to assume they are really pumping out the ad money for sponsorship which, in turn, makes it easy for many to assume you are sponsoring the brand based on the highest bidder. The same can be said for Insta360, all of a sudden everyone is promoting them as well. Doesn't mean those aren't the best options in their respective categories but the coincidence is possibly unhelpful. If they are truly great and happen to be paying the most, sounds like a win. In the long run that should work itself out as the public domain will reach the same conclusion. I could also be totally wrong, lol. Either way, I love and enjoy your content. I'm stoked to see someone get to enjoy doing what I wish I could do full time and I get some great entertainment and feedback on things that interest me from it. Thanks for keeping it real, hope to cross paths one day!
Love all the things you do, I just started riding off road after 30 years riding and camping on choppers, and bought myself an Transalp 750, it’s because watching you (and I’m already watching your content back until 2022. So much cool info and fun stuff). To make me go explore more. Thanks for all the things you do.
Dork in the Road hits Fork in the Road! But we all love him! Best motorcycle content on the Tube. My airline layovers overseas always include a Dork in the Road video or two. Thanks for all the work you put into this great channel.
Hi Ben, I met you briefly a few years ago during a Kawi demo ride event at Power. I've watched and have been a subscriber since before that time. You're genuine, approachable, and down to earth. I value your insights and information and the way that you present it. Much of what we watch on YT is fantasy. That's why we watch it. To all the naysayers, please allow me to pontificate: "Judge not, lest ye be judged". Keep up the good work. We'll be watching.
I found your content a couple months ago while researching camping gear for an upcoming trip and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the older videos as well as the new ones. Hope to one day be able to ride with you. Keep doing what you're doing, it's unique, educational, entertaining and relatable.
Honestly, keep up the expensive trips. First of all, they are amazing experiences, not just for you to take in, but to share with people. They can also catapult people into a weekend of research and planning their own trip, and even saving up for those excursions. Which makes it all the sweeter when they get that opportunity years down the road. You said it best when you said it’s an evolving channel. We’re all watching you evolve from where you began to where you are now, and that’s how it should be. And people should be happy for you that you get that opportunity.
Dude, you have single handedly gotten me excited about my future adventure riding (don't have an adventure bike yet). Thanks for showing us your growth and experience in the adventure world!!
Been watching since the Africa Twin footage. I am local in the northwest and I enjoy your camping adventures and reviews. Don’t let a couple of jealous people slow you down. Keep up the good work!
Hey Ben love your channel! There are always a holes with the attitude out there, don’t give them a second thought… Your channel (and Big Rock Moto) is one that has gotten me into the dual sport world. I am an average middle age dude that is looking to explore and enjoy the outdoors on two wheels. Your channel provides great ideas and knowledge that is useful. Keep the content up!
Don't worry about the negative comments. Keep being you and presenting content for all of us. You've motivated me to get back into motorcycling and I appreciate your efforts. Keep up the great work!!
Love your channel Ben! Don’t forget that there is an entire group of viewers (myself included) that don’t comment, don’t interact. We’re silent but tremendously enjoy your channel and content! I try to watch every video. And I’m so glad you get to do what you love. Keep it up man! Forget the haters!
I'm just glad there are people like you doing fun stuff and talking about it online, spending time watching these kinds of videos is so much better than what most people do online! Anything can be criticized or improved, that's not the point. You are good at this and wether or not I agree with everything you say and do, I appreciate what you are doing!
Keep up the good work Ben. I got off street bikes and into ADV around the same time as you. I’m average at best with limited time for trips so when I’m trapped in a cold Canadian winter or working well above the arctic circle your videos give me the much needed escape I need. You… and many others have inspired me to get out there and enjoy the outdoors on 2 wheels whenever I can, so thank you.
You are an inspiration. I seriously appreciate your content. There will always be those with different taste. Don't sweat the critics, especially the ones who could not create content that anyone would watch if their life depended on it. I watch you since I am in my 50s and am wanting to get back into riding... again you are an inspiration. Thanks!
Thanks for putting out such great content, Ben! It may be weird, but I actually watch your ads; they’re relevant, interesting, and tastefully done. I appreciate how you run the channel and the content you create. You’ve inspired my wife and I to start riding and gave us the knowledge we needed to make the right decision for us when making the purchase. Keep up the great work!!
I'm in San Diego, and I'll ride with you anytime! I appreciate your channel and the content you create. I found your channel after recently taking a couple of decades off from riding, but now I'm back. I really appreciate you and your other friends showing us great places, products, and giving us middle aged dudes the motivation we need to get our asses off the couch before life passes us by. The universe is full of hateful creatures. FTPs.
I love your content, Dork! I appreciate the day to day Dork content as well as the aspirational trip vids too. I completely appreciate your financial need and trust your integrity. Keep up the great work! Happy Holidays, brother! I can't wait to see what content comes in the new year. Continue to grow, I'll keep watching.
Am just embarking on an adv adventure life and really enjoyed everything you post .. realistic, regular perspective with honesty that cannot be faked. Understanding being hurt and truly sad the world is filled with hurtful people.
Don't let a handful of miserable people on the Internet keep you from personal growth. I think you do a great job of staying humble with what you do!
Define expert
Ex…. A has been
Spert… a drip under pressure
Expert… a has been drip under pressure
I am mad at you tho for inspiring me to try and do it for myself 😛👍🏻(joking)
Thanks for video Ben, I’m still here watching and supporting 👊🏽
Your comment, "When I stop to think something sucks, or is boring or hard or I don't feel like editing right now, I just think, you could be in a classroom right now in front of 34 angry freshman and I really appreciate what it is I get to do."
Ben, with two boys (who were freshman not too long ago) in high school, this has got to be one of the most sobering thoughts out there. LOL! 🙂
My two boys and I love watching your channel, especially during the winter time when we don't do a lot of dirt bike riding.
Yeah..you just need a bike! ;)
@ you know that doesn’t take me much time usually… ;)
Very thoughtful and grounded. Appreciate your authenticity!
A gutsy video Ben. You honestly evaluated comments made, provided self reflection and mentioned some areas to work on. Respect
We love you dork! Don’t let the haters get you down. Still got my 22 KLR 650 adventure and I go back and watch your KLR videos regularly.
Ignore the haters….continue being authentic.
Ben:
I’ve been following you and your channel for years.
You're a good man Ben, and one of the most down to earth TH-camrs out there. Keep up the good work.
Ben, just wanted to tic the positive box and thank you for all your content and contributions to the dual sport and adv community
As someone new to ADV, I also like equipment reviews as I wonder, "How does he keep his feet dry while riding through that?"
I grew up in the 60s with commercial television.
Just be yourself still love your content!
They are jealous, ignore it. I'm a HD guy, like your content, we camp, ride on Forest roads, and street. Good job.
New respect - you handled that with a lot of respect and humility. Very refreshing video and well done.
Thanks Ben!
keep killin’ it Dork. you got this. be you, don’t be fake you. food on the table under a roof is always #1 priority.
@ I’ve never heard of it, no. I live in the desert (Las Vegas). I’ll research it though. 🤙
Keep doing what you’re doing , I’m 35 , been riding since I was in my teens , and appreciate how normal and relatable you are. Fun channel , and thanks for having the balls to go do something you enjoy
All positive from this ole dork! Trudge on! You inspire me and I’m just a pavement, highway, tourer/rider… God bless you, and Merry Christmas!
A lot of the criticism seems like normal standard procedures that are just different to the misconceptions people have
This is hands down the best motorcycle channel on TH-cam, period. Keep up the good work.
Much respect,
James.
Ben, I appreciate you taking the time to put this out. Enjoy the holidays.
You do a great job and I’ve learned a ton. Keep up the good work!!!
Hey, what's your name? Where do you live? Lol. Just messin'
You and Ian are my go-to TH-cam bike reviewers. Really appreciate your content. Thank you!
I actually love the longer trip videos when I'm on the treadmill preparing for the season. All types of videos are valuable and branching out is good.
Don't worry about the negative comments. Keep being you and presenting content for all of us. You've motivated me to get back into motorcycling and I appreciate your efforts. Keep up the great work!!
Hey mate I love you and your channel. Keep doing what you’re doing. Keyboard warriors will just be that, let them dwell in their own misery
I've rode dirt bikes my entire life but learned about moto camping so much from you! I've enjoyed your content all the time!
I heard a great comment from another rider "It's not your business what other people think of you" . Thanks for your content.
