Hey Josh, just wondered if you still have the V used in the Poison for the Lost video? Can you show us some more of it? Cheers man!
Hi Josh, huge fan here since around 2012. I started the Sylosis subreddit a while back for fun and was wondering if you've ever stopped by and had a look. Can't wait to see what's next from the band
Hey Josh, long time sylosis fan here.
Since conclusion of an age, I have listened to sylosis on my commute to and from work, there is no other band that gets me as pumped as you guys.
Wondering if you have any plans to come to Perth Australia anytime soon?
Josh in the breakdown at like 1:50 of To Build A Tomb, what is that chirp from, is it just from you picking like a Savage? I fucking love it, I think it sounds so savage
Yeah, I'd like to know as well. It happens at 1:05 in Dormant Heart too. When I heard it for the first time in To Build A Tomb I didn't like the chirp, but it has grown on me.
I remember my friend pointing out to me when the album dropped and I was like “nah I can’t hear it” until I listened properly. Can’t unhear it now haha. I like it though I think it sounds more raw and real
Awesome video!
What would you say is the hardest Sylosis song? I’m currently learning kingdom of soltitude and I find the fast trem-picking, downpicking and gallopping right hand stuff pretty difficult.
Hey josh, love your work and looking forward to seeing you in belfast. I think its awesome that your bringing harbinger over with you, those are seriously underrated
Are there any riffs written by Adam in Architects? Or did you write all the guitar parts for the 3 albuns? Just interested because you have most of if not all the writing credits on all the songs.
Hi Josh, do you prefer using overdrive for boost or going straight to the amp?
Hey, Josh. I know you helped with deigning the Fortin Tempest.. Have you played on any of the Fortin amps, or Fortin-era Randall amps (like the SATAN)? Any thoughts?
..and Do you use a Zuul? If not, then what gate(s) do you tend to use?
Thanks!
Love the AJFA influences in some Sylosis songs, definitely one of my all time favorite albums. I would love listening to After Lifeless Years back to back with To Live Is to Die. So I got to ask If ever given the chance would Sylosis do a full album cover or a specific song from the album?
Love these videos and the behind the scenes. Is there a possibility of ever doing a JM-II with an evertune? I know the tonality would be a tad different but the utility would be killer.
Glad to see Nile get a mention. New album this year is gonna be a face melter hopefully
Lot of mentions of the AJFA album, which I'm very happy to hear (has a permanent place in my heart too). What's your musical highlight from the album? Did you get to chat with Het when you supported Metallica? A conversation with him is on my bucket list!
Now that you've been playing Slings and Arrows live again, can you please post the exact lyrics somewhere?
Also, have you ever thought of releasing a compilation album containing all the standalone singles, covers and bonus tracks that you've released so far?
Had being in Architects influenced your writing process for A Sign of Things to Come? Cuz I could definitely hear some signature Architects moments in the album, both vocals and guitars.
I noticted you guys played Slings and Arrowslive recently. Any chance of that being on Spotify ever? Also can you please post the lyrics to the song somewhere. I've been dying to know the official lyrics for a decade now lol
Now you have had the opportunity to put it to the test both live and in the studio and it has been on sale for a few years, is there anything you would change about your JM-II signature model?
Are there any riffs written by Alex in sylosis? Or just contributions by other members musically? Just interested because you have most of if not all the writing credits on all the songs.
He's written a few over the years apparently, one that springs to mind is the opening riff of What Dwells Within on Monolith
@@broganward4210 you’re right. Now that I looked again, that whole album is actually listed “all songs written by Sylosis”. I asked my question I guess because the most recent few albums I looked at had them all credited to Josh so I wondered to what extent the other members contribute 😂
Hey Josh, is there any chance that Slings and Arrows will be someday on Spotify? Because I love that song and it´s only on Apple music. Love your work btw.
Your IR pack is awesome. Any plans for other packs?
Thank You Josh.
Love Killswitch. They are riff masters Joel and Adam D.
Thanks so much for asking my question much appreciated and a great answer!! Just another question. Currently studying Live Sound Engineering, which will progress into Audio/Studio Engineering as well. Any advice you have on how to get established from your perspective working as an Engineer/Musician?
Your thoughts regarding the EVH 5150 amps, the differences and how do you like them compare to the Peavey 5150
How long will the JM2 stay in production? I really want one, but could take me another year or 2 to save up. Many thanks
Is there a record or band that when you first heard it you didn't like it but later on learned to love?
Love your music
Do you still use emgs in any of your guitars and what in your opinion make the fishmans better? I feel like emgs have been pretty much demonized over the past few years even though in my opinion, they’re very versatile and solid pickups.
Will you make more songs for passages in the future?
13:53 LMAOO which mf asked this question it was so out of place 🤣
Hi Josh, What's the deal with Ingested in their last album ? I'm thinking you're not in the "deathcore or brutal mood" ! But i'm happy to see a collaboration with ingested. :)
Since you're playing in C# standard instead of E standard, are you still using 11s for strings or have you changed gauge?
Hey Josh.. my guitar pick rotates after 30 secs of playing or so.. I tried multiple picks though.. how do we control it to be at the same angle throughout the song?
Hey Josh, have you and Craig Reynolds ever had a conversation about playing in Sylosis together?
Also are there any plans on reuploading Slings & Arrows to streaming services?
That song is unbelievable!
COOL Josh😁👍🇧🇷
9:15 Rectifiers can definitely be hard to dial in. You absolutely need a really tight Overdrive. A Fortin 33 style super tight OD actually sounds better on a Rectifier than on other amps IMO because it removes so much low end that gets filled out by the amp’s huge low end
Hi, Josh, is the track "A dead issue" on youtube really a Sylosis song or did somebody just post a random song and put it under your name? If it is can you say anything more about the song?
which DAW software do you recommend?
How do I watch the documentary?
What are your biggest irks with modern music production? Are there any recent albums you've heard where you've felt conflicted because you enjoyed the song-writing but disliked the production quality?
Is there any chance that your live presets on the QC will ever be available?
Tour tones unreal awesome sauce.
Really want to hear edge of the earth 2. Would be dope if you did the same songs ie sands of time and emperyl but name them slightly different and reverse the riffs notes etc
So do you not feel like you shouldn’t use 5150 because everyone uses it?
YOURE A LIAR
Really enjoying this segment! It's cool that you took voice lessons with Mary Zimmer; she really helped me improve my vocals! Also, I think Nolly's mixing advice has definitely helped; your mix for the latest album is so good!
Here's the question I posted in the last episode - Did you learn anything from your time with Architects that you're now applying to Sylosis? Could be anything from production, certain techniques, marketing strategies, or just helpful advice.
