Thats the best bike ive ever ridden through whoops. way better than the new 450x. I wish honda would've just tried to fit Fuel Injection and the 6 speed to that frame and keep engine and tranny oil separate. Im in search of a clean one. the bike is so good I dont mind shelling out good money for it and ive never had a problem with having to re-jet going from sea level up to 7k.
Almost done building mine! It's a R frame, with an X motor. I gotta get radiators and a rear brake rotor still! It's full street legal hopefully, I still gotta take the bill of sale from the local cycles r us and get a title but should be good to go other wise! I'll do that very soon! I want to test ride first though :D It'll need some other bolts here and there. A carb tune, a good wash and polish. I also want to check the valves. If I have to take the cam off I'm swapping to a trx piston for the 3 rings. I have that ready. Have a few other items I want to add or have spares of, but it's gonna be one great ride! The engine I have is a 2005, the seller said it would not go past third gear. They posted a video in the description. After getting it and assembling the shifter, I think it was too high and hitting the chain or chain protector. With no load on bike and no chain hooked up. It shifting up to 5 no problem and no noise. Hoping for a good test ride! I have a complete 2015 bottom end minus the cases. I also have all new seals and bearings for the interior engine. Gotta get gaskets still! I stocked up oil filters, and I'm getting ready to get some rotella bottles to be ready! Shinko 700 in front and 705 in back! I'll post a walkaround very soon on my channel! I have a video or two but I forget how far along it was? IT's been a bit
crazy that motorcycle tech hasn't really changed much since the early 2000's. But it's a Honda....they are super reliable. Look at a bike that was 20 years old in 2005, not very good! So yeah, the technology has really slowed down these past 20 years, just fuel injection, throttle by wire now. But crap nothing like 1985 compared to 2005, wouldn't even consider buying on that old in 2005. Unless a classic.
I definitely wouldnt mind having one

I’m not very handy with carbs, I really would not buy anything other than fuel injection personally. But you are right not much has really changed.
