All you work is great but I think the thing I am most in awe of is your ability to color match. It's just a skill you either have or you don't I think.
Always nice to see you fix up the piles of fodder. I hope one day you will revisit this and maybe work on a custom set using the really naffed ones. Maybe they could be dyed so all the suits are shades of dark green. 😂
I watched the Real Ghostbusters cartoons as a kid after having watched the movie. I enjoyed it all. But I never owned any of the toys. Having recently started collecting and chasing down the Kenner Beetlejuice toys I kept thinking about these toys. How much they seemed to fit together with the Beetlejuice line. I had been considering collecting them again but hadn't bought any. And then I found a loose Super Fright action Peter Venkman figure in a yard sale for $1. Really great shape, but no accessories. But I'm now on the hunt to grab more of these to go with my Beetlejuice stuff. Thank you for sharing the repair process here. It'll help if I find deals on broken figures that I can fix up.
I love this work, The Real Ghostbusters toys were my favorite and you rescued and brought them back to a great condition. Absolutely brilliant and great work.
Great video, Dave. I do have a suggestion. For painting eyes and eyebrows, I use an extremely small ball-stylus which I normally use for sculpting polymer clay. It works wonders for paint as well
I had the same Ecto-1 and original Winston. I also had a later version of Egon with a button that made his eyes and mouth pop open. The ghosts were Fiendish Feet yogurt pots and cardboard cut-outs drawn by my mum and nan and suspended from threads
Great result dude! I love this toyline and it's really good to see the team being restored and rescued from an otherwise certain death! Looking forward to the resto of the Ecto-1! 👍🐵
Hey Dave They look great, thank you for sharing. Happy Weekend to you and MrsTP. Take care of One Another 😊 Ps. I really appreciate/enjoy your longer videos. Having said that, I am happy to watch anything you produce.
Amazing work again, Dave. I've learned so much from your videos over the years. You've led me to grow as a collector and customizer. Your color matching is on another level though. It's like your brain is a computer. Lol
Another enjoyable video! I used to have the GB figures, but I sold them off in the '90s. I do sometimes miss them though, and getting a chance to see them all again in your video makes me want to look for them again--or maybe see about getting some of the newly recasted ones. The fixes you show aren't anything new, but the process is still incredibly enjoyable all the same. Every figure seems to offer its own unique challenges, so seeing you replace parts, touch up the paint, and mend broken bits is always fun to watch from where I'm sitting! It's always amazing how a little clean-up with soap & water, a little paint touch-up, and fixing a few broken bits can really transform toys back into looking very dislay worthy condition! If I hadn't seen you do the repairs, I wouldn't have suspected that any bits had been broken or needed paint. You skills just keep growing and growing, Dave. Very impressive, my friend! Very impressive!
Great restoration…. I was hoping you might have added the trim colors from the cartoon to each uniform, first custom job I ever did back in the day. But then it wouldn’t be a true restoration. Always had to resist painting the packs black like the movie.
Awesome video! I've been trying my hand at restoring some old RGB figures too, but I was too scared to try the boil-and-pop method. Glad you were brave enough to try it, and even more glad to see that it actually worked! Keep up the great work!
@@toypolloi i actually did a live mend along to one of your videos a couple of days ago, i found myself in posession of a broken janine fright features ghostbusters toy which had the exact same problem as yours, i fixed the arm allthough the small plastic peg which allows the mechanism to move the eyes and mouth was also snapped and unfortunatly missing but she looks great for display now the arm is re-attached and her hair still flicks up! you have a great channel and resource for the grown men tinkering with old toys community! 👍
Awesome job, these look incredible as always! I'm looking forward to the Ecto-1 and the lights! A cool custom project would be to modify the original Ecto-1 into the one from Ghostbusters 2... but Hasbro Pulse may have beaten you to it!
Great video, i have 3 none broken packs and the beam on winston needs to be fixed. So i will try the small drill and paper clip method to reattach it thank you
Have you used plastic tools they use to repair mobile phones? It may be less damaging than a screwdriver. Great video, maybe make some custom figures with the parts you have left.
You would need to be careful on the ones that have electronics and the battle-matic action. I have more videos on Thundercats figures coming soon with extra content for Patreons. Cheers
Loving this video I grew up watching and playing with the real ghostbusters figures and firehouse and ecto 1 I swear u tried to sort that mold problem on figures on obi wan by bleaching them in peroxide brightening or spot cream to get rid of mold spots my ray had this problem all over and thundercats panthro could do with a solution for this was thinking of leaving them in mold and mildrew spray in a large hot dog jar to try to attempt to get rid of the mold on figures it worked on the nozzles on shower head when I left it to soak in mold and mildrew spray cream cleaner and bleach I just sprayed it on left. It on for a few hours it got rid of the black mold on it
@@toypolloi There's no place of origin on the figures, but looked up a moc one and the card says made in China. Years ago I heard that condition referred as "plastic rot", but I'm not sure if they meant the dark spots on the plastic or when figures get sticky. As for the sticky issue I have some Marx toys safari animals and the softer plastic parts are sticky, and they're made in the US.
All you work is great but I think the thing I am most in awe of is your ability to color match. It's just a skill you either have or you don't I think.
True... And I don't have it 😢
It's just practice. Keeping on trying and you will get there.
Try Neon yellow for the energy Ray
You have crossed the streams! Winston originally came with yellow, Ray orange, Egon pink, and Peter green. Great video!
Thanks for the info!
When your ghostbusters have seen better days, who you gonna call? Toypolloi of course! Excellent work once again mate
It’s great the amount of patience you demonstrate in caring for these classic figures. Thanks for giving them new life.
My pleasure!
Watching you restore figures (and vehicles) out of scrap parts is always really satisfying. I think these are easily my favourite of your videos.
Thanks.
I still have all of my Real Ghost Busters toys, my 10 year old son has loved playing with them too!
Those came out awesome, look brand new!!
Glad you like them!
Great job, Dave!
They look fresh off the card back!

Although I am a MOTU collector, I find this project extremely impressive and fascinating. As always: well done!
Thanks. Everything I show here can be used on MOTU figures as well.

Thanks for the tip. I use my Pin tool for most small details these days. Similar idea.
Amazing restoration work by Dave, returning some well played with, vintage Ghostbusters figures and accessories, to their absolute best.
Glad you enjoyed it
I've made replacement beans with leftover PLA from my 3D printer. Drop in boiling water, pull out and shape !
Love this Dave, great fixes!
After all that boiled water work, with Egon only having his original torso and right leg, he was like Triggers broom! 😂
🤣
Thanks for filming and sharing with us. Great restorations.

Any time!
Masterful work. The patience you have along with your skill sets is phenomenal
Thank you so much 😀
Such a great save! The Real Ghostbusters are near and dear to my heart. Love this!
great restoration dave!
Great work restoring these Ghostbusters figures, Dave! Really looking forward to seeing what you do with the ECTO-1 next! Cheers!
Many thanks!

Love this video dude! I’ve got some really great ideas now for restoring some of my more ‘well played with’ Ghostbusters figures 👌
Great to hear ☺️

Good luck!
Weedwacker line looks exactly like the Proton noodle bit.
Awesome 😎
Thanks 🤗
You’re welcome 😇
scariest thing about the ghostbuster toy line are those damn eyes, lifeless dead eyes
Looking good!!
Hello from Chattanooga Tennessee 😊
Hey, thanks
Have you used plastic tools they use to repair mobile phones? It may be less damaging than a screwdriver. Great video, maybe make some custom figures with the parts you have left.
You actually need a lot of force to push the parts back in so not sure the plastic tools would hold up. I'll give it a try.
@@toypolloi worth a go, I have used plastic tools myself, they not strong enough for everything but ok for some projects.
Who you gonna call? ToyPolloi!
I've seen pieces of weed trimmer string and thought that it might be used for Proton rays
Does the boil n pop technique work on ljn thundercats figs?
You would need to be careful on the ones that have electronics and the battle-matic action. I have more videos on Thundercats figures coming soon with extra content for Patreons. Cheers

There is no way to remove it as it's not really mold. It's the plastic degrading.
@@toypolloi oh ok thanks
@@toypolloi what do u do with the figures that have this problem just leave them as is
@davidJones-mx7yw Leave them or boil and pop as in this video.
I think maybe the strange flesh colour of the hands is supposed to be a glove?
Seriously….Egon has mould……..moulds spores and fungus
🤣
3:17 Is that the same issue you see in Thundercats figures like Pumyra and Jaga?
Where they made in Malaysia? As this seems to be the most common production area for this mold issue.

Nice but Ray needs the hydrogen peroxide UV treatment.
He's been slimed.
Aren’t the Proton Pack power cells meant to have a half life of 5,000 years? 😂🤔
i cant wait to see the Ecto-1. i have my childhood ecto and want to do stuff to it. im excited to see what youll do.
Perhaps it is just the camera zoom, but I never remembered the toys having such creepy eyes, especially Ray.
why did they miss the hair color and the faces so much
Like new Dave lovely job
