  • We know now that Ramy Youssef is an extremely talented comedian, actor, and show creator, but even when he was doing late night improv comedy after school he never truly thought that performing was practical goal.

Completely understood and comprehend what and where Ramy Youssef said and is coming from. Sam being shock by Ramey’s answers speaks volumes to living in a bubble and only knowing one kind of world.

?? Does no one give a rats ass about complete sentences and MAKING SENSE anymore? If you're going to slam Sam (who is the best of the best, bytheway), at least have the courtesy of writing well. (Oh, and I did NOT perceive Sam's reaction the same way you did).

Andrea Andrea that says a lot about the bubble you live in too then. Sam and you are a perfect match. It’s one thing to be nice but being naive about the world just shows lack of true research and knowledge before conducting an interview.

@@Caliboyk I don't live in a bubble; I am tri-Cultural and have been hefted from one country to another and went to a multitude of schools. If anything, I have NEVER been part of any one culture so you are way off. Sam was not 'shocked' by Ramy's answers, he was surprised, perhaps because he was thinking in a different direction (I don't follow the track of his being naive about the world....? How?). The thing about being an interviewer is this; You ask questions that you perhaps know the answers to BECAUSE IT'S YOUR JOB and you are asking FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE WATCHING WHO MIGHT NOT KNOW THE ANSWERS. But I get that you relate to Ramy Youssef in a way that Sam and also myself may not and feel a kinship with him ... and I honor that. Just, .... you don't need to slam Mr. Jones (who is a really fabulous interviewer).

I feel where he's coming from. Feels like it's even harder, but at least I have him as a reference point :)

I feel this so deeply. There's no space for us in the arts at all. He puts it so eloquently.

Sayoora being a design graduate there is no reference points for us in schools (as far as I see in eurasia) you just have Islamic Arts and being lack of religious upbringing it is harder to adjust in 'modern' world and design in it. Sorry if it is irrelevant, I just see your comment and jump into it. I feel ya.
