Good stuff. However, I do not think 5v5 is really going to come anytime soon. Im sure they can crush lanes, but general game decision making has a much larger degree of entropy (is that the right word) and has a lot more factors involved. Could execute some push strats for sure though. We'll see, good practice for the players anyways.
It's a learning AI, not the usual program "what to do type" of bot. As they said and developers are only working on bug/glitch fixes. Their only job is to make sure it do not get stuck, and play a non ending game. All they did is input the game rules, then the bot decides what to do on its own without any developer interference.
I just wonder what kind of a computer runs this bot. I really hope it can't be run on a normal computer cause other wise, it would be easy to just crush the lanes with this bot and than overtake mid game winning easily.
these bots can not just play better, but they have almost no reaction time and can calculate precisely not just guess. With 5 bots angainst 5 pros these advantages add up and the bots are going to crush the pro team.
The more variables there are the more chances there is that bot miscalculates. This is why runes/shrines/smokes are forbidden. In a 5 vs 5 game, there are too many variables, at least at the moment for the bots to handle. However in theory in a year or two, team of bots would probably beat even the best, most coordinated, most talented dota 2 team.
EnVisionCinemaHD I think it's actually because soul ring changes things drastically. Suddenly a huge boost of mana and less health. Same as them banning magic block. Because it would take so many iterations for the bot to figure out what the hell is happening.
It is very natural that the player loses due to the environment he is in and the pressure on him. If he came across while playing comfortably at home, a different game would be watched.
x2ceyez RTZ lost 10 out of 10 times. The other top players won't do any better. On that note, doesn't really make sense for that minor tournament they're holding to find the first 50 to beat the bot..kinda seem impossible lol
i think what they actually do is improving the bot even further to a greater height. during those matches with rtz cncc and others, the bot was surely improving but maybe the dev just set the parameters to where the bot achieved before it played against those pro players.
the thing with this type of Bot is that good players will become pro in no time, its like having a pro coach at home, nobody can beat that, new pro players will rise from that training eventually.
I think the question he was looking for was "How many game samples does the bot work with?". That's a much better question. I'd guess it would need something like a million matches, considering the complexity of the strategies it came up with.
But the games weren't played in real time. In a project like this, you need to play several matches per minute to in order to get a decent result in a manageable time. I trust that they ran the simulation non-stop for two weeks, but that does not equate to one week of dota non-stop (which equates to roughly 1000 matches of 10 min. each). I think that it's reasonable to assume that they had multiple computers running on multiple threads during these two weeks, doing about 100 matches per minute or maybe more.
waow! look at dis highly programmed AI I just found while my bots in practice stand there watching that one ward near roshan for like... the entire game
Imagine a bot controling a robot army that has learned from thousands of millions of simulated wars against itself. Now imagine such a bot fighting against our world. We're all dead.
One very big thing we are forgetting is the last rule: If at ten minutes there is no advantage in kills or tower, the game would be decided by creep score. Bots do not use items very well it seems. Also i feel like the best strategy to win this bot is staying passive, trying to get a Eul. and then trying to burst it with ulti
Well, if this kept for almost 10 min until the Eul possibly could be, because the gold income of dendi was so low, and spent on salves, that the SF bot could push the tower so fast
Razes from the tower are good enough to defend for ten minutes, I think. Again, I did not play it, but i'm certain the key to winning the match up is buying items which have effects, so the bot has problems reacting.
that bot can calculate the actual distance upto exact numbers while humans have to approximate that using speed and direction of movement etc factors like for sunstrike, hook and arrow
Molly House Those restrictions are basic 1v1 tournament rules numbnut. Plus, they have a year to come up with the team. They can just great a few dozen of the same Ai and run them on their own at the same time for a few months. Then pool the knowledge acquired together into one Ai then make 5 copies of it. It's definitely plausible.
They should have had Dendi play again for the third time, but anything-goes this time (disregarding the "rules" like no bottle and no jungling). I think that a bottle crowing at the very least is an essential part of not only an SF mid only 1v1 but also a lot of other mirror 1v1 matchups as well. And who knows, the AI might even get better by learning how to work around these "rules".
the thing is. bot can use potion while side step and harass at the same time. with keyboard there's input delay. sometime you try to use potion while click other things wont work. its mechanical problem where as ai dont have the barrier. they are able to precise hit target base on their math calculation perimeter. those are the biggest advantage and not their strategies
@@synystera that doesn't changed thing as much as it still able to precisely execute commands, move hero and courier simultaneously while last hitting as a natural robot can do. The instructions sets is already queue. If you speed the game pace 10x it can easily execute commands. While human struggle to follow their hero with their eyes.
