I'm so glad you are taking us on a more in depth tour of the rooms. I could see, during Stephanie's tour, that there were so many interesting features in the rooms that there just wasn't time to go into. I love Mark's sense of humour as well. Love you all.
Your chateau is so beautiful, and it will be a pleasant experience to see each room until Christmas, and hear you tell us about its past, present and future. What a smart and generous idea! 😍
Lovely! You two always cheer me up :) Marc is so full of mischief and Amy's laugh is so hearty and infectious. You're both so knowledgeable and great communicators
I recognize Marc's project of giving palnts an indoor refuge. My living room is filling up with all my epiphyllum and other tropical plants from my balcony.
Wonderful! Interesting! Fascinating! Well done, Amy and Marc!
the buffett: I suspect there existed before another part on the right side...like the left...with other function... ...it's a beautiful piece of furniture...
@@Chroniclesofrosieres interesting! symmetry/balance in the past centuries was an important thing... ...perhaps it was constructed for a special place, perhaps in a corner...?
No it’s a specific style of furniture that was made like this, not just for corners. There are many similar examples. There was no need for an addition on the right because the left hand piece was only for washing your hands. It’s funny but the perceived lack of symmetry really, really bothers some people but the majority of people don’t even see it. I think peoples’ brains work differently!
Marc is so great with plants, I wish he had a channel for that. The plants are all doing so well, and I agree that they give a real lifeforce, warm vibration to the place. He does his homework, research and probably knows a lot about them. A vlog now and then about plants would be so welcome! 💜💜💜
I'm thrilled to be able to see you all every day! Your channel has gone from strength to strength and every episode is becoming more interesting and engaging. You guys are a delight! I love every moment! 💓
You all just keep giving and I love it emencly, lots of history and laughter. Look forward to more from you both and I do remember the huge amount of dust Mark created when investigating the fireplace. No wonder you want the coach house done and moving before he starts looking for the lost cellars.!!! WCL
I love these tours. Now have backed up to this first one and will follow them all. The added detail and relaxed discussion of history are fascinating. Thank you both!
thank you for this opening into the wonderful 1st window of the adventcalendar❣️I like your knowledge not just of your château's history but also of so many other fields f.i. craftsmenship. and I love your eclectic way to make La Rosière your home, respecting its past without "worshipping the ashes but carrying on the fire of tradition"
unfortunately I don't know... some say it's been a Gustav-Mahler-saying. the german version is: "Tradition ist nicht die Anbetung der Asche sondern das Weitertragen des Feuers" (whoever said it originally - I love it. and I do ask forgiveness for my poor translation)
Capturing the essence of what attracted you to cherish Rosieres Chateau & Estate - such a natural way to showcase your discoveries and an enticing "peep" behind the facade of such a noble building. Great presentation Marc & Amy . What a unique Advent Attraction. Loved the intro with the Castle and grounds dusted with snow. Well done 👏👏
I felt that I had seen the chandelier before, and so checked one of my Vermeer prints. Yes, in his Art of Painting, one very similar to yours.! Loved this new approach. And not too long which means it holds our attention throughout. Looking forward to the next one!!
You two are such a beautiful couple the love shows during your interactions. You probably don't notice it but you look or glance at each other often and connect in a loving way. I am sure it is charming living in a Chateau but also appreciate all the hard work, things you have to give up and even isolation whilst working and restoring this beautiful home. Don't apologise for the spider webs we all get them and the poor little critters get a bad rap from many even me but they need somewhere to call home too. I struggle to keep on top of all the cleaning in my apartment heaven's to betsy I would need a tea of cleaners for your place. Why not try Stephanie's cleaning hack. Stephanie adopted, well continued to hire Mary Poppin's as a regular cleaner as Mary had been cleaning the Chateau for the previous owners when the chateau was purchased. May be you could find a local to pop in once a week or fortnight for the day to take a load off the every day tasks, just a thought, Your content is brilliant, Love It!
So excited I was introduced to your channel via Stephanie. Love the chateau and the time you both take to explain the history and architecture. Looking forward to seeing more.
What a brilliant idea and a lovely day one! I've only got one problem, I'm 11 days behind, but really looking forward to seeing the rest of the rooms in such detail.! I'm off to day 2! :) xxx
brilliant idea, looking forward to discovering each room. Love to buy a scrolled-up map of the chateau and grounds. Also, I suggest you build a cozy fire in the kitchen firepit and film for a Christmas tv fireplace video. From the angle as if one is sitting in front of it.
Absolutely fascinated with your beautiful Chateau and I love how much research and detail your both include when your share about the chateau s amazing history . Happy Christmas 🎄.
I love the storytelling of this video. Also the description of the chateau as a "mille feulle" made me laugh with agreement. I'm looking forward t all the videos.
Love Love Love this!!! I absolutely love hearing about all the history as well as seeing the details of the chateau. Thank you for making these videos! I'm really looking forward to the next one :)
The chandelier is lovely and reminds me of the chandeliers in the US from the 1700s (they probably came from the same places at that time); the swiss highboy is an amazing piece--wow! dts/usa
The buffet in the dining room is a beautiful piece of furniture I’d be so proud to have that. Well done mark on your find. ❤️👍👏 great video so interesting and can’t wait to see the rest of the rooms it’s fantastic. Thankyou guys xxx ❤️
What a wonderful idea for an advent series - truly opening doors for different precious things! ♥️♥️♥️ We have a fungus here that turns wood the same shade of green… and it’s bioluminescent. I suppose, if the wood is varnished (or of course it’s a different fungus), yours doesn’t glow. But, you may want to take a look at night with all the lights off. 😁
The ceiling light and that buffet is beautiful. I love visiting the old Victorian and plantation era homes, here in the States for their beautiful unique furniture, stair cases, light fixtures. I bring in a lot of plants in the winter time and keep them in our sunroom. It is healthy for you. Thank you Marc and Amy.
Love the buffet and history. It amazed me on the.fireplace size and knowing the timeframe helps us understand the working farm and people needed to run such a large place. As for the plants they add needed oxygen into the home. ..story I'm sticking with to back Marc up. Thank you for day 1
Beautiful fireplace, well worth all the hard work. The buffet is so beautiful and as you say the Marquertry is amazing. Lookung forward to seeing these each day. Well done 💕🇦🇺
Please post some before, during, and after pics of your beautiful fireplace. I love the plants inside. We call it a sunroom here in the 🇺🇸 USA. They are very popular in the South.
I love that you have all the plants inside like that, it gives so much life and beauty to the room. You two are doing such an awesome job with the chateau and I applaud your work. Thank you for sharing with us and I will be looking forward to day 2.
A lot of people think that but actually it’s quite clear that it didn’t have another side because the ornamental edging on the top shows that it’s complete as it is. I’ll try to show that at some point!
Hi Amy and Marc Many thanks for showing - and telling about your "dining room" / garden room. I also think the room is suitable for overwintering plants ! The buffet furniture is fantastic and very rare, which fits well with your old castle. I look forward to following your advent calendar daily!
VERY interesting! I can't wait until tomorrow! That buffet is really cool. I loved hearing about how the previous owners dug down to increase the ceiling height! Loved loved loved it! Well done, Amy and Marc! ❤
Loved it! When Marc talked about the wood that was attacked by fungus, making it all the more precious, it reminded me of something I read about the tuliptrade in The Netherlands in the 17th century. The most precious tulips were the ones attacked by a virus called the mosaic-virus. It created more vibrant colours and stripes and flame-shapes on the petals. Looking forward to your next vlog.
Fantastic idea! Really looking forward to the next rooms, thankyou
Amy and Marc...thank you for your Advent present...wonderful vlog.... loved it! Be well and be safe xxx
I'm so glad you are taking us on a more in depth tour of the rooms. I could see, during Stephanie's tour, that there were so many interesting features in the rooms that there just wasn't time to go into. I love Mark's sense of humour as well. Love you all.
The advent room calendar is a brilliant idea, and the first video of it is already a gem 💎! Love it❤
I love it also. Now I have something to look forward to watch. You guys' rock!
Your chateau is so beautiful, and it will be a pleasant experience to see each room until Christmas, and hear you tell us about its past, present and future. What a smart and generous idea! 😍
I LOVE this!
Fascinating, I look forward to next vlogs. Thank you Marc and Amy x
Just loving you all...thanks for all the love and joy!!
What a unique idea for an Advent calendar. Really interesting history. Loved the video.
What a grand room Mark and Amy;I see why you love it to create memories for Clemont and Juliette. Advent just got better!
Hello 👋how are you doing?

Congratulations to have done it with fish glue !!! Very historicaly correct. It warms my heart that there are people who don't mess up old furniture.
This is a great idea - fairly easy content for you but so interesting for us! You two are great presenters. Many thanks! ❤
