Hi Sarah. Thank you for giving hook sizes for different aged babies. However, the video is a bit blurry (or maybe it's because the yarn has fuzz?) especially when your hook is moving so it is not clear to me how do you create the second part of the V stitch? Honestly, I kept hearing "gavi" stitch so didn't have a clue what you meant! :D It would have been helpful if had paused after creating the stitch to show what it looks like. EDIT: Having watched other video tutorials I've realised that white yarn is not the easiest, because it creates a halo, especially against darker background. I most likely got the name of the stitch wrong, because I cannot find anything crochet related term with that spelling. I'm new to crochet: can you list the stitches you need to know for the video tutorials so I can a) learn the names of different stitches and b) find a tutorial for the stitch to practice before starting a project. Also, while I may be able to figure out how to do some stitches (e.g. that V stitch) by watching the video and crocheting along, I like to create write a stitch library with instructions for myself with a proper name for a future reference if I ever learn to read patterns. Then names matter. Anyway, I have started the project (should be doing my homework) so I'll see if I'll manage till the end... Well, I managed to complete the hat and it turned out OK, though the flat circle has got the wrong side outwards. Maybe I got the instructions wrong when making the brim. Once again, thank you for these tutorials. I don't meanmy comment to be nasty, I am just trying to explain what my personal problem is and how you could help me to undertand your tutorial(s) better in the future, because I am sure to come back for more. :) .
I think you’ve lost your nuts! It’s not this woman’s responsibility to teach you any of these ridiculous requests. Buy yourself a book for beginners crochet and teach yourself. You’re another one of those self entitled brats that expect people to stop whatever they’re doing to meet your needs! Grow up, crazy pants.
@@dianejolma8834 An already accomplished crocheter doesn't need a tutorial, so why make these detailed videos at all? I am merely pointing out what problems I personally had as a beginner: not to complain but to help her channel to be even more successful because I appreciate what she is doing. If I am having problems it is likely that someone else is also having them - but most people just give up and go elsewhere... (I do have a book teaching how to crochet, but books don't work for everyone: neither I nor my son find looking at static pictures easy to understand. It is the case also with cookery books, you need some experience already before getting proper use out of them. That's why so many people are using TH-cam videos to learn practical things.)

Yes the circle part which will be the back is flat just like a circle. Continue and you will see when it starts to curve

Since stitch tension vary from person to person that could be a reason as to why yours came out bigger. What hook size and yarn #4 did you use?

If you can try with a 4mm instead so that it comes out smaller. Like I said stitch tension vary so that could be the reason.
