If you are latino and have African ancestry (meaning the transatlantic slave ship dropped off African slaves in Latin American countries and carribean islands) they are afrolatino. You also can be afrolatino if one parent is latino (with no African ancestry) and the other parent is black. Using your eyes you can easily see those girls are afrolatino

haven't seen the show, but Labrea want's her mother's love, she didn't get any while Lacienga got pampered and acted spoiled, so that means Sunset wasn't as loved while Melrose was pampered

The subtle hints at the beginning of the episode about LeBrea’s weight is so sad. Her mom talking about how she better look good because of all of the money spent on personal trainers and tofu, and then telling her no snacks before dinner. This teenage girl can’t help her weight gain, it’s natural as she’s developing. As a bigger girl it sickens me seeing a mom so concerned about her daughters appearance, she’s beautiful just the way she is

Holy shitake mushrooms, how many family and sibling complications can fit in one scene in this show.
Never saw this show but I can tell with this brief interaction the aunts get along with the counterpart niece but they all come into some understanding later on. And the mother/daughter are different from each other but more alike with the aunt/neice dynamic.
It's possible Sunset was just irritated at having Melrose in her house, but I wanna believe that first glare she sent her was for commenting that LaBrea "BETTER look good, after all the money I spent on personal trainers and tofu," right in front of the kid's face.
In terms of looks, Lacienaga clearly takes after her mother Sunset, while Labrea evidently takes after her father Mateo.
I feel sorry for LaBrea.
