I was surprised so I did some research online and it's true, the badgers do bark (among many other sounds they make) and it resembles the bark of a small dog. It's made in a warning/defence context. You learn something new every day :)
I laughed so much when you said you fell asleep with the mobile on top of your face, I can't tell you how many times I've done that!! So sad that JuneDeForce is almost over, I've really enjoyed watching your vlogs this month, but happy that you've added an extra day in July, which also happens to be my birthday this month!!!

Badgers are hell, if one bites you, it doesn't let go until it hears the snap of the bone. So it's advised to have a stick with you so you can snap it if it bites you.
lucie_c That's actually a myth :) But getting bitten by one will hurt a lot!

A lot of people think so in Norway too. I thought it was true for a long time, but it does seem to be a myth, if the experts and the internet are to be believed :)
Badgers from the UK/ England are totally different to anywhere else. They are quiet peaceful animals that live in close family group. They would only bite if they were cornered and had to protect themselves!

Omg I would've loved to see pigs badger reaction 😂 she sounds like my cat, tiny but so sassy! So glad we don't have badgers in Australia, but summer sucks - I had to pull my dog inside because there was a huge snake just roaming around and we live in the suburbs, I can't imagine what it'd be like in the country D:

I always throughout dachshunds went after ferrets? i was told that they were built to be long and sausage like so they could fit down the ferret hole (hence why they also have killer sharp teeth!) i haven't heard about them taking out badgers?! but we don't have badgers in Australia so maybe thats why? :)
Their name translates to badger dog I think so yeah that's what they were bred for :)

Raccoons as well. My old german shepherd mix was notorious for challenging them. We still don't know how she managed to walk away without a scratch

My dog also had a little fight with a badger, luckily my cousin heard and went to the rescue 👍 never new badgers were so dangerous 🙈
Yes! Be careful because my friends dog sadly got killed by a badger in a fight :(( He was also a small dog and it was in his nature to go after the badger but it did not end well! So be careful !

Annie65H small dogs always have a big dog attitude, I've found haha. Although I think Piglet's is even bigger because she thinks she is a Spaniel like her "sisters" :)
Yes - I guess the "Napoleon Syndrome" kicks in - LOL! But what is a bit nerve racking is that Dachshunds made the list for dogs mostly likely to get lost :( For sure hope that never happens - I would have to use a leash! Have a nice day!

Fleur, about your camera's focus issue: I don't know which model/make you're using but maybe you can switch to auto-focus instead of manual (because I've seen you adjust it manually a few times in this vlog, so I'm assuming you're doing it manually?) and that would help? Anyway, lovely vlog as always!

We came across a badger on a walk with my terrier and spaniel, it was only a metre in front of us, we all stared at each other then very luckily the Badger just ambled off!

Disappointed in your views on Badgers, they are beautiful. What do you expect them to do if a dog chases them.? They obviously have to protect themselves. They are really quiet animals that live in close social family groups. I have been to watch badgers many times. Also the TB thing, it's not actually 100% proven that they spread it. Scientists are divided on the subject and many believe that it is more likely to be cattle! I usually like your channel/ dogs but please be a little bit more educated before you make such statements!
bettybreeze78, I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you.
I disagree; as a farmer's daughter I have seen a different side of badgers than what you see (perhaps the true side..) the destruction and damage they cause is unbelievable and my old cat was attacked by a badger and had to be put down. Also the amount of hedgehogs they kill is horrible- no wonder they are endangered yet again as the badger population has risen!
I'm sorry, but destruction, what destruction is this? They are just living their lives in their own habitat. Do you want a sterile countryside where there is no wildlife so that it doesn't get in the way of farming. Probably yes! Many people/ farmers/scientists don't support the badger cull, it doesn't work. If a cat/ dog invades a badger's territory what do you expect them to do, can they not protect themselves. Would love to know how you knew it was a badger that attacked your cat. As for hedgehogs I think you'll find the issue is them either getting killed on roads or habitat destruction- largely down to farmers! A badger will kill a hedgehog for food, so what! I presume you eat meat so what's the difference exactly, they have to eat!

Our dogs bark at the possums and koalas in our trees in the back yard, haha but if the koalas came down on their level, they would shred the dogs to pieces, trust me, they aren't furry and cute, the wild ones are savages!!
