Kente does not come from the word ‘Kenten’…Basket…No no no! It is also NOT OF AKAN or ASANTE ORIGIN. It was introduced into West African Culture by The EWEHS/ERVEHS of Ghana’s VoltaLand, Togo, Benin and South Western Nigeria Yorubaland where it is woven and called Ashioke… The Ewehs from whom it originated called and still call it #Kete pronounced K3t3… which describes the weaving technique utilized on the looms… The Asantes know this to be true but refuse to admit it. Even their Royal Court Historians, are aware of this history, which have been contorted and revised for so long; but history cannot be twisted when it comes to the K3t3 or Kete… In Eweh/Erveh culture, it is more than a mere woven cloth, but rather #HebrewCloth… It is an ethnically prescribed garb worn with a Dzompa made from White linen, or others like brocade, lace etc… Only male Ewehs/Ervehs wear White Dzompas under their Kete/K3t3, while the females wear the lace kaba blouse with their Kete or Ashioke as it is known in Yorubaland, because of its ethnic significance. The #AyigbeKente as other Ghanaian tribes describe the original weave, preceded what has been hijacked by the very tribe which have taken on the popularization of this woven fabric, without acknowledging its origins. It is the Eweh/Erveh Kete/K3t3 which inspired the scriptural Jewish cloth supposedly used as a swaddling cloth for the baby Moses found in the bulrushes… There is a reason why ancient Hebrew tongue as well as the Hebrew Cloth, is traditionally rooted in Eweh/Erveh Culture and Ethnicity. Most of the symbols and patterns in the original weave, are Hebraic Evegbe by origin… Adinkra is Akan/Asante by origin but certainly NOT THE KETE/K3T3 or KENTE as you wrongly call it… Go and confront your historians and they’ll repeat this truth to your hearing… Written by (Enyonam Sabrah Adzovi) #AfricanCulturePreservationist #BonafideGhanaianEvegbetor #VoltaKween 👑
Kente is a popular traditional cloth from Ghana. This is what is known all over the world. Ghana must do more work to generate more income from the kente cloth.
@@marthaasante2468eye asem ohh menua. Kyerese yabre koraa. The voltarian kente is even different from the ashanti kente just like the northerners also has their style. I will not be surprised if he says they’re the ones who introduced kenten(wooden basket) too
Thank you brother and God bless Ghana
