    Guys I think you should not be surprised about some dumps down and negative commends. Many other channels already started the same way with commercials. I'm just bored and I turn off the video. With this you achieve the opposite and you have only few viewers who watch the whole video. And that's not your profit either.
    I wish you good luck for the 2024, especially a very good health and a better hand for your videos!

    The startermotor seemed to be turningover nicely, after the long standing the bedix may just have been blocked by some rust, but you will easily see that when the thing is removed.

    Take the starter of the engine and clean the dirt from the bending and then try the starter and make sure the bending is travelling out on the shaft if it is refit it and start your engine and brilliant work so far guys love from Milton keynes ❤

  • @andyh2677

    When you tried the starter motor it looked like you just shorted out the 2 large terminals on the solenoid this only sends power to the motor itself not the solenoid coil there should be another small blade terminal which also needs 12v positive to actually operate the solenoid to throw the gear out onto the starter ring onto the flywheel.. people are talking about the bendix sticking if this was the case there wouldn’t be a solenoid on top of the starter motor

    • @rustybeemer

      I was going to raise that point as well, but you beat me to it 😄

  • @bigbob8uk
    @bigbob8uk 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    p.s. its a pre engaged starter, which throws the Bendix in when activated in the correct manner.

  • @arthurjacobs9330
    @arthurjacobs9330 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

    With regard to your starter motor, it has a bendix, which is a helical slot that uses centrifugal force to push the starter gear into the flywheel. Sometimes debris or the return spring will stick, keeping it from engaging. Try cleaning and testing it free of the flywheel before just replacing.

    • @andyh2677
      @andyh2677 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      if it was a bendix starter motor there wouldn't be a solenoid on top of the starter motor the electric solenoid is what throws the gear on to the starter ring and he didnt put power to it too it 12v supply needed he only shorted out the motor terminals

    When it comes to starter it might not need replaced, from the spin sound it sounded pretty good and more than likely the spiral shaft that the little little cog slides back and forth on most likely has rust on on it or is dry , removing the starter then cleaning the spiral shaft with a little WD40 and a final oiling would get it working i think

    Happy holidays and don’t worry about the internet gonegooglers or a-holes as we say here on the other side of the pond 😂. I thought trolls were under the bridge not standing on them. Hopefully once you’re in the dry dock the hull thickness is within safe specs which unfortunately your detractors will still try to make a fuss over to try prove that they are right.

      Thanks Norman that put a simile on our faces :)
      Hopefully all goes well in the dry dock we definitely looking forward to the next video the most ! Staying positive for good results fingers crossed for sure 👌

    The width of the boat was always a concern to me.

      It’s wide but normally not so bad, those locks were definitely not opening all the way

    That engine looks a little small against the size of your boat. Will it be ok if you go onto rivers etc? Or is it size doesn't matter it's how you use it....?

    • @DuoVagari
      @DuoVagari  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We think it will be sufficient as the rivers are not tidal so cruising should be easy. I guess only one way to find out :)

    You two had a quacking time under that low bridge. Good to see your priority was to film it.

    Think it would be easier to just have it sandblasted, instead of dragging the whole deal on. Cheaper in the long run

    You look as if you are just shorting across the motor contacts and not energising the solenoid to engage the motor and the drive gear .?

    Hmmmm Enjoyed the boat footage... but not so much the nearly 14 mins advert. TBH I let it run & went to put my Pizza in the oven & came back for the last 30 seconds of that section.
