    Love the shredding “screee” sound with accompanying puff of smoke. Those balls aren’t going to last too long

    I think it's good it's a little wild, in a baseball game, the pitcher won't pitch at the exact same place, they might even peg you.

    It's really inconsistent in aiming, and it makes a weird sound, but other than that, great job dude!

    Awesome!! Hey I was thinking you should use those adjustable sliding poles on each side the ones that have the button you push in to raise up or down. That would definitely help with accuracy and things. Cheers

      Within about 10 feet I think. Neat project, needs some guards and something to fine tune the accuracy. Keep working on it.

      Balls are all over the place!

  • @angelicstorm4985
    @angelicstorm4985 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The only problem with the machine is the feeder. Everything else is awesome. But that feeder is snagging the ball. That's why it's not accurate. Just move the feeder so the ball hits the top of the wheel.
    If you are looking at the wheel like a clock, the ball is hitting around 10. You want it to hit near 12 or just a little bit before. Plus the ball doesn't need that much metal to travel along. It only needs about 1/3 of that. But otherwise, this is a nice machine. I'm guessing it's top speed is around 70 or 80. If you said in the video, I missed it. But you could make and sell it. Regular machines are in the thousands now.

    If you could add a second powered tire and be able to control all kinds of possible spins, then you've build yourself a beast.

    Whats the rpm on the motor you used?
    Liked the simple principle of your machine!

  • @raiderman28
    @raiderman28 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i agree with flyindwarfman, this seems better for infield practice. it you make some adjustments, which you probably will, you will get it right. great job.

  • @DillysADV
    @DillysADV 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    lower the tire pressure to get it to grab the ball better and then spring load the upper track to hold it better and that would do well.

    • @masonbrandt14

      DillysADV or get a new machine

    • @DillysADV
      @DillysADV 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I guess you could do that if you had the money and no ambition to try and do something for yourself.. from what I am seeing, someone is trying to do something on a budget and be a little creative in the process. I support that. We need more skilled tradesmen who are willing to learn something new.

  • @johnstephens911

    Hey there, You know I was quite surprised myself on how accurate it shot ball's too
    My first attempt when I was compressing the ball's through the shot I was measuring 60 -63 meter's so the balls were landing very close to each other.
    Cheers

    Wow congratulations, can you tell me specifications of your motor please.

  • @FlyingDwarfman
    @FlyingDwarfman 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to agree. It's pretty cool to build something like that yourself, but... maybe it's better to use it for fielding practice...
    Who knows if/ when you make adjustments to improve it, though.

    This is true to the method of building one, however the tire wheel is a flaw you need a concave. Perhaps a rim.

  • @dylf14

    i wouldn't consider this accurate but its great for a homemade device, I hope you keep at it. Add another tire above the one and stabilize the balls flightpath.

      The most accurate pitching machine in the world can only guarantee a strike 99/100 times, it can't even locate a corner. Making these things accurate requires university level work.

    the tire must be without shapes in oder to get more control of the pitch.. and actually there are special machine baseballs cuz the normal baseball's threads can make the machine throw without control... so in short: a very old tire without shapes and special baseball (without shapes) for machine use

    • @nicholastrigilio2306
      @nicholastrigilio2306 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan Ryan You do realize a real pitcher isn’t perfectly accurate either. I’m sure they can tweak it a bit and get it to where it needs to be. If you are afraid of that quit baseball because unless you’re 10 all pitchers exceed 40mph and honestly how bad do you think that would hurt?

  • @HeavenReservation
    @HeavenReservation 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I applaud your effort, I know I wouldn't be able to be better. It would be a great fielding machine for someone learning the to field or pre game warm-up. It's extremely creative. Did you build something else I can look at?

  • @Psunittanylionfan96
    @Psunittanylionfan96 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    where did you get the motor

  • @HeavenReservation
    @HeavenReservation 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    OMG, Dude, I'm dying laughing here, I swear the Three Stooges could have used that prop, three balls hit the ground, one sailed over the fence, one hit the top of the fence, and the other would have sprayed a hitter. I can see a Little League'r parents suing the coach for using that. With that said, I think you're a heck of great guy for trying. Someone to create such a thing has got to be a heck of a guy. I'm telling you, I enjoyed the video and I'm saving this for sports my staff tomorrow.

    Using that, you'd spend more money on Baseballs than just buying an actual pitcher. Not only can you see the balls hide on the wheel you hear it skinning the hide.
