@@Romapolitan he was talking about a more general context, many anime shows of today tend to be more biased to superficial context. They lack philosophical dilemma's that ghost in the shell portraits. It's something that allows us to connect to a show with such abstract meaning and depth. Philosophical themed anime is rare nowadays, ghost of the shell was one of them and it portrayed the dilemma Motoko had trouble with and how it was answered through philosophy like dualism from René Descartes. People nowadays only look for quick gratifications, superficial bs, celebrity fame, social status, pure degeneracy, consumerism etc. People need to start looking internally at themselves, rather than looking for an external fix. Personal philosophy (one created by yourself that is truly authentic without prior knowledge of knowing of its existence) used to be one of many ways to seek self-improvement for the sake of oneself, not capital or social status. Failing to look critically at oneself creates all sorts of problems. I could go on about how nihilism inflates society and is allowed to run rampant, but I wont continue as its probably unnecessary.
This moment that you prefer to watch 24 minutes of a Ghost in the Shell loop with its music than a complete other movie. That kind of masterpiece is this anime.
Stoic . Right to the point. Mission comes first. Leaves your emotions out of it. Don't make it personal. I've carried these with me since the age of 11 . Thank you Major
Remember watching this as a kid in the 90s and thinking it was the greatest anime movie ever. Nothing would top it. I was right even though Jin Roh and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust came close
Worked out then took my dog on a long walk in the evening while listening to this. Happy to say I was able to finish the plot in my head to a book I'm working on. Finally broke through a tough section. I believe this track was instrumental in this because of it's meditative properties. Nice edit
Just watched the film of the 1995. Watched it third time overall and first time after I was watched all the films and series of the GITS Universe during previous few years of my life... It is a crisis of middle age in my life. Coupled with a war in my country. Total uncertainty. Total loss of meanings and direction. However, I've just meditate during the track, and you know, probably found a way how to move on. "The net is vast and infinite" said in the anime against the background of a big-big city with a huge number of skyscrapers which mean to me an almost infinite number of people. Infinite number of the universes and diversity. I just want to say Thank You, whoever you are. Don't stop, continue your work, continue your life, that may help somebody, someday.
I've this cued up ya know. In my downloads. This one and another one. Same film. I'll play these, to, calm my mind and forget about my heartaches. I enjoy these moments. I'm watching this for one reason. To remember when things were young and free. It was my first anime. I would also watch Black Lagoon and Mobile Suit Gundam Chars counterattack. Simpler times. To always remember.
The art in this scene alone beats 90% of what I've seen modern, especially 3D anime do... GLOR I OUS FUCKING DRAWING! Incredible and MATURE vibes... You don't get this shit out of the digital age, no sir.

I was lucky enough to watch ,,Ghost In The Shell", as my first anime. Good God, what a Fabulous Masterpiece.
Everything after it - a let down :D
I watched it last year for the first time. I was blown away by it. I bought the 4K Bluray not long after.

Why is it called "Floating Museum"? Very curious.
It was a scene in museum with this music. Kenji Kawai likely had brief script before making music.
