    The climb is not bad, the Escalator is very well done. But pace yourself it gets steep at the top.

      Oh it’s well done trail for sure. But for those who don’t like to climb and not on emtbs it’s not fun.

      Nope, near Nashville but come down to the Noog often. Probably more now that Walden’s is open. 🤙🏼

    Are there any hiking trails open besides the 1.5 out & back W Trail?

    • @midlifeshredder
      @midlifeshredder  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All the access trails are open to hiking, escalator, lift ticket, middle and upper traverse, etc. Only the downhill trails are not open to hiking.

      There is plenty of great jumps at Walden’s. I need to get back there and do an update video now that I’ve been there several times. But for this general area, Tennessee, North Georgia, western NC I’d also look at Baker Creek in Knoxville, Ride Rock Creek and Kanuga Bike Park, both near Henderson, North Carolina.

    Just for future reference. If you’re going to roll the jumps. Roll them off of the ride line so the lips don’t get rounded off. 👊

      It’s called a pre-ride 😉

    • @wesdaniel6064
      @wesdaniel6064 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@midlifeshredder brother, you can pre-ride by riding to the left or the right of the lips. It’s called etiquette / having the common curtesy to builders and folks that maintain the trail system. 😉 😉

      @@wesdaniel6064 It's all good dude, no need to get all bothered. I don't know anyone who pre-ride's jumps to the left or right. How do you know how to hit something if you don't hit the jump as intended? Doesn't make sense to me. But to each his own. Have a good one!

      @@midlifeshredder I wouldn’t say I’m bothered, just passing on info to anyone that doesn’t know. I feel like this is common knowledge; if you’re pre-riding to scope out features, then you don’t need to roll over the lip of the ride line and round it off. Ride over the lip to the right or the left; I’m not saying totally off the trail. Example: Say 20+ people do that daily for a month, what sort of effect do you think it has on the entrance of the jump? Even more so, if the lip has been rounded off because of this and it’s a 40 foot double/gap (and some of Walden’s doubles are close to this), it’s likely you’re not going to travel as far as it was intended to begin with. I’m just passing knowledge my dude. That’s all I have for you.

      @@wesdaniel6064 I appreciate you sharing the knowledge and I agree, if you're not at all intending to attempt any of the features then you should pull off to the side, which we did clearly (ex. Bermhart: gap, boulder drop, large step down and step up). I don't see anything I was not intending to hit that I purposely rolled. Maybe the one jump that my buddy slowed down for, which I wasn't expecting, but everything else I was attempting. Not sure what beef's about but that's all I have too. Peace!

    E-bikes are just sad! Unless you have a disability, you do not need an E-bike.

    Got a chance to ride it a couple of weeks ago. Rode up Escalator from the bottom of Bread and Butter in Eco mode since my 43 year old son was on an analog bike. Made it to the last switchback at the top and had to stop and cool off. Went down Bread and Butter. It was more than I was ready for. Rode most of it. You guys made it look easy. Great video!

    Looks like fun ! How would you compare it to the blue and easier blacks at Kanuga ?

    • @midlifeshredder
      @midlifeshredder  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The only black we did was Bermhart so hard to say. They are different but I’d say the ratings relate. If you can do the blue trails at Kanuga then you’re good at Walden’s. There’s definitely some good progression at Walden’s. 🤙🏼

    Those trails look like a lot of fun. Plenty of features to progress through.
