For the Baltimore day trip, note the (free!) Walters Art Museum is just a 0.8 mile walk from the train station. And Baltimore's Washington Monument is right there too (you can climb it for $6). The annual Artscape event takes place right outside Penn Station.
I would suggest the Hampton Roads area. You have Williamsburg the naval base in Norfolk and of course Virginia Beach. It may not make a great day trip from DC but I would say visiting there is well worth it.

Great tips!
@triphacksdc what is considered peak Spring Break? March, or April?

Always a pleasure to join your channel. Would you recommend Airbnb for wdc vacations?

I can absolutely recommend a daytrip to Gettisburg. I booked a guided trip from DC to Gettisburg. All included. Sad to hear its no longer running.
Do you remember the name of the company, Peter? I can't seem to find anyone running this from DC anymore.
