I’m so glad you have others on the boat to help with sailing if there was an emergency. Of course this is coming from a mother, grandmother and a ICU nurse of 40 years. Let me know if you ever want a grandmother and nurse on board. I love what you do.
Hello Riley, Elayna, Lenny & Darwin. I love your vlogs, as they remind me, somewhat, of my 35 yrs and 22 round the world sailing. Like you, I also raised 2 children (girl n boy) on our boats, until they were about 18 yo, when they departed to finish their own uni degrees. A small piece about my boating life. At 25yo I sailed alone for 20 mths, when I returned to Aus, to respark my interest in a young lady, who I had corresponded with during all this time. She agreed to join me and "TRY" this sailing thing. Almost 30 yrs later, after travelling another 20 times around the world, raising our daughter & son, living on our 3 boats (a mono, & 2 cats), we departed company, due to my beloved wifes illness and eventual death. At the time I was sad, but as we all know, life must go on. Yes I have left out all the things we saw, did, how we worked and just made things happen. All is in my first book. After uni, my son did return back to our boat, to live, as well as his partner. Now at 62yo, living with an extreme disability, I am unable to sail, but my son and now wife are carrying on with my legacy. I am still living life to the full, with my new younger filipino wife n daughter. Land locked has not stopped me from enjoying my already fulfilled life, I am blessed and was always blessed with the opportunities presented to me in the life I chose. Vlogs were NOT a thing done when I started in 1985, but with my mountains of travel logs, photos and diaries, I am now writing a few books on boat living and boat life. Just my opinion, as each to their own. Raising 2 children on board boats, space is a must and an extreme necessity. I see the Rapido is a tri-maran, with only the middle hull used as walking / playing space. When we decided to move from a 34 ft "mono", to a 44 ft "cat", due to our 2 small children. The kids did learn balance, move around freely, with the more usable living spaces. As we "home skooled" our children, space was essential. This just my humble opinion, no more no less. I do trust you are making the correct decision for yourselves and for that I admire your drive. NOTE: you remind me so much of myself and my late wife, larakins and happy go lucky pair of young adults. Never forget yourselves and who you are inside. Bless all 4 of you and may your sails be filled with wind and the waters are gentle as often as possible.

Elayna, the blond is lovely! You are sooo pretty! Well done and thanks for the background story. Loving the video, particularly the stormy weather. as a Florida native, love the local thunderstorms for their beauty and how they refresh our whole environment. Lenny and Darwin are amazing little troopers! You and Riley should be very proud of the future they will present!

Hey guys! I am usually not one to post comments on TH-cam videos, but I gotta say a huge thanks for your content. I am a teacher in NYC and this year has been a nightmare to say the least, so I've been using my favorite creators like you to keep me distracted and give a little bit of sunshine. I've been sick as since Wednesday, my first laugh in days was the animated bit in today's video. Thanks for what you do! Sending love and smooth sailing to your fam! ❤
Hey Meg, sorry to hear you’ve had a tough year. It makes me happy to hear our videos have helped you get through some of it 💛 we’re always here for ya! Much love from the crew on La Vaga xx
If you get a wide pool noodle, cut a wide slit, you should be able to slip it on the sliding door and slide off when you need to close. Will give some cushion in case Darwin swings into the door. We did this to a couple of corners when our kids were little. Cheap and quick, should be able to find in any beach shop.
Elyna, your hair is beautiful as a blonde Watching Darwin bounce in his chair reminds me of When Lenny did, but that now seems so long ago. It’s so good to see you all so happy being on the water. Till the next, blue skies and fair winds
Lenny seemed to enjoy it as much as Darwin is now. One thing missing nowadays is the army of critics who claimed these bouncers cause problems with children's legs, etc, etc, etc.
Great episode. I’d like to hear about the challenges and rewards of having crew aboard. What’s it like to share your home with others for an extended period of time? I would imagine there is an adjustment period.
I love the south Florida weather. It's beautiful how such sunny days can produce such a dark and treacherous storm....only to pass within minutes and be pushed out by sunny skies.
Elay, I think the blonde hair looks great. Not all that different, truthfully, than how you look at the end of a sun-drenched season with those natural, sun-bleached highlights. Suits you nicely!
I have a few vague memories from when I was Lennie's age, but my life wasn't greatly documented and put up on You Tube. I'm also sure there is quite a bit that's filmed that is not included, but stuff that is just for the family. It will be interesting to see how much Lennie remembers of this part of his life in 20 years.

elena, it might be time for a big chop :) i think shoulder-length or a wild, layered bob would look smashing and will certainly help with the slightly botched coloring job. don't be scared, it grows back super quickly anyway. riley's hair getting stuck might have been a sign too, i think you're right ;)
My first thought about climbing the mast was that it would be a blast to be up there with all the increase in motion (when I was a kid I would climb trees when it was windy cause I love that feeling), but the cut to Riley getting slung around up there definitely tempered my enthusiasm! I'm sure I'd enjoy it still, but would be much more cautious. Also "Professor Riley's" physics lessons always make me laugh, they are both hilarious and informative! More please!
I enjoyed the "snoop" round the boat. . Let's be honest, isn't everyone that watches TH-cam a bit of a snoop? Lovely to see you All in good health and spirits! Love your new crew, they seem like family.
🌺. Love it when we get to see you doing lots of sailing ⛵️ I always learn so much about what it’s like when your expecting great weather & end up with rain, gusts of wind. Problems with rigging and having to climb the mast while out on the water, choppy weather at that. This is something that fortunately has never happened to us. It’s great to learn from these experiences so thank you & I’m so happy everything worked out. Elayna your hair looks great 👍. I need to get mine done. I have had blonde hair my whole life. Until my mid thirties and it started getting more & more brown. Now in my mid forties it’s mostly brown just blonde on the bottom 6 - 7 inches. It’s our dream to Sail in the Bahamas ⛵️ 😁
Oh boy, I loved seeing all the sunshine and blue water and also loved the soft jazz music in the background. Great show as usual, have a Merry Christmas everyone. Tom
If you wrap a sling around the mast and clip it to your harness with a carabinier then you will not swing away, so you will not swing hard back. If you use two slings then you can unclip one to clear an obstacle, then clip above, then bring the lower sling above the obstruction. In this way you are always clipped on with at least one sling.
20:25 - Kids book "Dear Zoo".......... what a small world, my kids had the same book when they were that age. Hope you guys are loving being back on the water as much as us keyboard warriors are watching your continuing adventures. Have a great Christmas and New Year from not so sunny Sweden!
Great to see how very well organised you are onboard La Vagabonde, Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and fair winds on your travels in to the New Year.
You’re not the only one, but truly, going up the mast, especially at sea, is not given enough respect. I’ve gone up on hot days, like it probably is down there, but I always wear long pants and closed toed shoes (and I usually tie a safety line too... as mentioned in your last video!), and I sometimes wear gloves as well if it’s particularly rough. I’m not safety police: do what you like, but putting out some ideas that you and others can consider when going up the mast.
So happy you are back in the bananas! Being land locked in Iowa - it is marvelous to see the clear water and sunshine. The blonde hair is beautiful, btw!
Get Lennie a white board and put it up on that wall at the bottom of the stairs - there must be whiteboard on a roll or something - so he has a big area to scribble.

The animation bits get better and better! Love following you "legends!"
I completely agree. The animations/animation style really suits their style and humor, making the videos all the better.
Who does the animation?
I couldn’t stop laughing at Riley getting decapitated when he was on top of the mast!!
@@fernandosibecas3492 But his head went back on! Amazing!

Love the tour and Lenny’s sneakiness. Lolol. Love the team work.
Elena, I love your new hair style! Thank you guys and gals for another great video.
I enjoyed the "snoop" round the boat.
. Let's be honest, isn't everyone that watches TH-cam a bit of a snoop? Lovely to see you All in good health and spirits! Love your new crew, they seem like family.
Yep, TH-cam subscribers are out-and-out stickybeaks!
Tom
Best animations ever. We laughed so hard with Riley swinging from the mast.
Simply the best! And looking forward to the new sailboat -> El Rapido
Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas & Happy safe Sailing for 2022 xx
The little animations are quite funny & rly well made, props to whoever doing it.
I must say, that boat tour wouldn't have been the same without that subtle yet ever so quintessential choice of jazz ;)
WE LOVE THE BLONDE. IT LOOKED GOOD BEFORE YOU REDYED IT
The animation is bloody brilliant love it
20:25 - Kids book "Dear Zoo".......... what a small world, my kids had the same book when they were that age.
Hope you guys are loving being back on the water as much as us keyboard warriors are watching your continuing adventures. Have a great Christmas and New Year from not so sunny Sweden!
Great to see how very well organised you are onboard La Vagabonde, Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and fair winds on your travels in to the New Year.
amplified standing waves are a key to the universe ;)
I can't be the only one who looks forward to these videos every week!?
Get Lennie a white board and put it up on that wall at the bottom of the stairs - there must be whiteboard on a roll or something - so he has a big area to scribble.
"Don't judge me !" Way to go girl.
