Dark Synevyr is actually located in Los Angeles California in the US. Even though their website and Etsy used to show Ukraine. I ordered this deck(the original linen bigger cards) and it never arrived It's still showing lost in customs in New York. When I contacted the creator he sent me this deck and it arrived from LA in 3 days. I contacted him again and he called this the second edition and then updated the Etsy shop with this deck temporarily. It was back to the linen version on the shop last time I checked. He's so shady. This is also not the only deck he does this with.
This is definitely very strange. I have the deck I bought from what was the official Etsy back in Sept 2021. It's linen card stock, no folk witch across top. Mine has green matt edging because at the time you could order with different colour edging of your choice. Then Ukraine was invaded and that Etsy account is now listed as being in Pennsylvania, USA and not Ukraine any more. I remember at the time they had a notice up saying they were fleeing and had no idea what was going to happen. Checked the listing for it on their Etsy and some of the customer photos have folk witch across the deck in their photos and others don't. It's a shame because the linen deck is so beautiful!
Thank you so much for sharing! Yeah, it seems like they must've been forced to change the printer and perhaps that also caused the changes in formatting. Sometimes that stuff can't be controlled. I just wish they'd change the item description on their website and on etsy because the decks they're sending now are significantly different from the old one in every way 😅 Anyway, totally jealous that you got the linen cardstock deck, it's so gorgeous
How weird! I've not seen this deck before but I really like the look of it. I went over to their Instagram and they have comments turned off which is odd but not sure if they always have done though. Something smells funky...
I know there have been some complaints about them here and there in the past, but I also know of people who never had issues with their decks and customer service. So it seems like it's a bit of a lottery - you may or may not get lucky. Either way, just figured I'd share this in case people want to order this deck but aren't sure what they're gonna receive in the mail 😆
This is very bizarre indeed. If it was me I would contact the creator to let them know and I'd be asking for a refund as it's not right 😕 and I also agree the writing at the top really kills the vibe unfortunately. I hope you find an original copy - over here (Australia) there is a great FB group that is well moderated and you'd be amazed what comes up for sale now and then, maybe there is something similar over your way 🤞
As i mentioned in the vid, I was aware that this was probably going to be the copy I receive, so I'm okay with it. But I thought it's only fair to share this so that others know what they're buying, too 😅 I trimmed my copy and it looks great now!
I've seen this deck and others by the same company pop up in a few european tarot webshop who distribute it. I like the illustration style too but I was hesitant in buying any of the decks because there seems to be no information on the illustrator at all. I get very suspicious about this, if the artist doesn't get any credit, it can be a red flag that the artwork was used without permission.
What’s going on with this company? I own another deck by them, and it was a good quality. I’m pretty sure they used like a spray paint to edge it in gold, lol. I liked it at the time - I like handmade. I feel like the production changed, and probably it was always an independent aka printed-in-the-basement publisher 🙄 just a theory
