Karen Hilltribe Elephant Sanctuary

We visited the Karen Hilltribe Elephant Sanctuary for a couple of days. See the itinerary below. We had a great time visiting the elephants, visiting waterfalls. We stayed at a lovely homestay and had our private cooking class, where we made a three-dish Thai meal. The following day, we had a good breakfast. Afterward, we went on a 3-hour trek around the village and said goodbye to the elephants. Returned to the homestay for a nice Thai lunch. After lunch, it was time to take a bamboo raft down the wang river.
Two-Day - One-Night Elephant Visit
Day 1
1. Pick up from your accommodation and drive approximately 1 hour 20 minutes south of Chiang Mai.
2. Stop at the local market to experience local culture.
3. Arrive at Karen Elephant Sanctuary and change into the traditional Karen Hilltribe clothing.
4. Meet the elephants, feed, and take photos with the elephant in their natural life.
5. Mud spa with the elephants.
6. Walk with the elephants to the river bath and brush the elephants.
7. Enjoy lunch of traditional Thai meal (Pad Thai) and fresh fruit.
8. Waterfall sightseeing, relax and enjoy swimming in the waterfall.
9. Get dropped off at Karen Hilltribe Homestay.
10. Relax, cook traditional Thai food with your tour guide, and enjoy dinner.
11. At night, enjoy chatting and playing games with the tour guide.
Day 2
1. Have breakfast at Karen Hilltribe local people (Homestay).
2. Enjoy trekking for about 3 hours through the beautiful jungle with a relaxing break to enjoy nature.
3. Enjoy lunch of traditional Thai meal with fresh fruit and free drinking water.
4. Enjoy bamboo rafting.
5. Drop off at your accommodation.
