If you walk about 15 yards from the white tower (which is visible at 4.49) going down hill towards the sea, there is a compass rose carved in the rock before your feet. It is a delightful thing to see, and maybe could be made more visible to visitors and protected from the weather. How old it is I dare not guess, but such a pretty piece of work deserves protection.
