If the "This is not meth" scene doesn't count as one of the great TV moment of all time, I'm not sure what does, and it won't be this show's last contribution to that list.
True. This is probably the least crazy of those moments and it's still one of the best scenes ever.

Agreed. You know a show is amazing when one of the "greatest TV moment" scenes happens in just the penultimate episode of the first season in a 5 season series _full_ of even greater and more memorable moments.. basically this whole show is a 'greatest TV moment' 😂
And though it's an iconic scene.. it puzzles me a bit. Okay, so we see Walter throw it right at the ground in front of him.
Not straight ahead of him towards a wall, but at the ground a foot in front of him..
It doesn't gain much distance before going off, putting him even closer to the explosion.. So shouldn't he have been more affected than he was?
Or am I just overthinking everything?

This is the episode that hooked me(and still remains a favourite of mine from the entire series)! Well, if I'm being honest I was intrigued after 'Cat's In The Bag...'(Ep. 2) but still needed a BIG moment to reel me in and Walts confrontation with Tuco was that moment. Hello, Heisenberg 😊
Physics and chemistry are not really different Rick - Heisenberg's uncertainty principle is something you are introduced to when learning about very small objects, such as the movement of electrons - and that is something that comes in the realm of both chemistry and physics. There is no fine line.
I'm pretty sure I first heard the name Heisenberg in my high school chemistry class.
@@fakecubed yes but the Uncertainty Principle as proposed by Heisenberg is an important part of Quantum Mechanics which is Physics. In fact a lot of Quantum Mechanics dips into Chemistry which was the other guys point, the two disciplines are not as separate as people think they are

According to Vince Gilligan's commentary for this ep., the shot of the top of Walt's head peeking up above the stall was a re purposed shot from an outake from another episode, and in the original cut scene Walt was actually masturbating in the stall. When they found they were a little short on coverage of the bathroom scene between Walt & Hugo they just took that unused shot of Walt in the stall, switched up the original sound effects with the sounds of retching, and bam, got some needed clarification on exactly what the mess was that Hugo was volunteering to clean up.
I absolutely love your note taking! It's honestly created a totally separate thrill/challenge for me at the moment, because as a huge fan of Breaking Bad, I've actually started playing a game where I bet on what plot points cause you guys to stop for a second and take notes. Then I judge my score by how many out of the three of you pause to write some note about the scene, compared to the importance of the scene in the grand scheme of things in hindsight from someone who has seen the whole series. For someone who has seen the entire show multiple times, it adds a whole new dimension to watching reaction videos! I absolutely fucking love comparing when you guys start taking notes, to the actual major plot points in the series.

3:30 - Another reason on scene filming will always beat a fake set and or CGI, you can use takes that are naturally enhanced or added to by the environment or nature. Breaking Bad does it mostly in the time lapses and using the time of day and altering movements of the sun. But someone also made a conscious decision to keep that exterior vehicle take of Hank and Gomez in the parking lot souly because of the doves leaving their perch and flying in formation and settling back down.
Heiseberg uncertainty principle comes into play a lot when looking at subatomic particles. When one property is known for certain another or others change. The closer you look to see the spin then you cant see the position. And when you look to see the position the act of looking can change it. I think thats kind of the gist of it.

Funny fact about the throwing up scene right near the start, just take a look at his shadow in the wide shot, he’s not throwing up at all lol they had to redub it. Don’t really need to elaborate further, heard it on the audio commentary of the episode on the Bluray.

The reason the show uses Heisenberg for his street name is because like the uncertainty principle where the more accurately you measure a particles momentum the less you know about its position and vice versa the more you think you know about Walt the family man the less you know about Walt the drug dealer and vice versa.
