Wow, this brought back early memories, I was born in 92 so I vaguely remember the latter years of Boothferry Park but I remember going with my Dad as often as we could, was a feeling that you don't get nowadays with modern grounds like the KC. It was fun and family like, none of these stewards telling you to quite and I remember the ground being so empty that I could run around freely in the stand tapping seats as I ran by, so many memories I could go on for ages, also the open days were great!
I'm a Norwich fan but my mum's side of the family are all from Hull. Back in the day, my grandpa would take me to Boothferry Park over the hols and I followed them ever since as a 2nd club. Must have been about 8 times or so to that ground. Overall though, Hull, as a football club, are far better off now than they've ever been, I think and so the Kingston stadium does befit their Champ/Prem status than their previous Div 4 achievements.
Thank you for documenting this. It's a sad state of affairs, another classic English stadium bites the dust, just like my beloved Layer Road. Unfortunately I never got the chance to visit BP, but I'm old enough to have witnessed the phase of mass transition to new plastic all-seater bowls, and none of them are a TOUCH on proper grounds like this. RIP.
It does look rather forlorn, which is a shame. My Grandpa used to take me there in the 1980s. Lets face it though, the club will do better now than it did when it spent all those years in the bottom division even if these new stadia are a bit sanitised. I'm actually a Norwich fan but have a soft spot for Hull (family from there) and hope they go on to bigger & better (Norwich top, Hull 2nd. Ipswich bottom).
Bothferry park is now in the process of being demolished. I am going there in the morning to grab as much as me and my dad can shove into a Frod Mondeao

Great video, from a Cardiff Fan. Really glad we went up together on last game of the season! We're both premier league say we're both premier league!

I whole heartedly agree. I really do miss the place and the KC still doesn't feel like home yet.
