- Vande Bharat Express the golden child of Indian Railways has finally started running commercially at the speed of 160 KMPH. This video features comparison of Vande Bharat Express at speed of 180 KMPH vs 170 KMPH (COCR Trial run speed) vs 160 KMPH commercial run speed and how Vande Bharat Express got approval of 160 KMPH commercial run!.
It all started last year in August 2022 when Gen 2 Vande Bharat Express (3rd rake of Vande Bharat Express) was sent to Kota to undergo COCR trials.These trials were conducted to test Vande Bharat Express at 180 KMPH. COCR (Confirmatory Oscillograph Car runs) are the speed trials performed by RDSO division of Indian Railways. These trials are conducted at speed of 110% (180 KMPH approx) so that commercially trains can run at the speed of 100% (160 KMPH) in case of Gen 2 Vande Bharat Express. Sawai Madhopur - Kota - Nagda section of Indian Railways is fit for 180 KMPH runs. so these trial runs were initially conducted on this section.
Till now no Vande Bharat Express was introduced on any section Indian Railways which was allowe speeds above 130 KMPH. But with Gen 2 Vande BHARAT Indian Railway Ministery came up with a plan to introduce a new Vande Bharat Express on New Delhi - Rani KAMLAPATI ( Habibganj) route which already has a train (Bhoapl Shatabdi Express) running at maximum permissible speed of 150 KMPH on New Delhi - Agra section. Therefore Indian Railways conducted a COCR trail on New Delhi & Agra sectio to test new Gen 2 Vande Bharat rake at speed of 160 KMPH. This trial was conducted successfully and therefore 11th Vande Bharat Express was given approval from Railway board to run the Rani KAMLAPATI Vande Bharat Express at commercial Speed of 160 KMPH. which makes it the fastest Vande Bharat Express in terms of Maximum permissible speed. Even, with 160 KMPH commercial run speed Rani KAMLAPATI VANDE BHARAT Express was not able to beat Varanasi Vande Bharat Express. which is still the Fastest train of train of Indian Railways in terms of Average Speed.

Gandhinagar vande bharat is not 180 for sure I guess you should use varanasi vande bharat trial run one it was 180 but seems to be like 200

This was during last year's 180 KMPH COCR trials conducted in August over Sawai Madhopur- Kota - Nagda section of WCR. After these trials this rake was handed over to WR for operation over Mumbai Gandhinagar route! Read some news before blaming other for false information!
