7:23 funfact: when hoshi was scouted after a dance contest, he first rejected the offer but the pledis staff offered to buy him an ice cream and he then accepted it and also went to audition to pledis and the rest is history.
I always say, that kpop and even the whole world will never have quite a group like Seventeen again. They just excel at everything: music, dance, variety, the relationship within the group is amazing. And their visuals like hello??? how does every single member get to be so freaking beautiful 😭😭😭

Yeah the teamwork and chemistry between so many members is amazing. They have a great bond. Also their talents are endless and they are one of the most naturally entertaining groups.
Edit: Also they pioneered the "super intense/difficult choreography but really synchronised and aesthetically pleasing" movement in the kpop industry. Their choreographies have been creative, innovative and beautiful since their debut. And their synchronisation is actually insane. And they have one of the best and most consistent vocal lines in kpop. DK and Seungkwan are arguably the best male main vocalists from 3rd gen. And I say that as someone who has been singing for years and likes multiple kpop groups. They are the best, even better than vocalists in more popular groups. Sorry not sorry. And Woozi? The control he has over his voice is unbelievable. Yeah there will probably never again be a group quite like Seventeen; a 3rd gen self-producing group where LITERALLY ALL members are very good/competent dancers and can play multiple instruments despite not being a "band" (piano, guitar, drums, clarinet, recorder, electric guitar, etc). I can't name a single other group where all the members are competent and synchronised dancers; there's always a big difference in skill between dance line and the rest of the group, or the main dancer always overshadows the other members in terms of dancing or live performances. But not with Seventeen. Even though there is a clear cut performance team, the other members can still keep up and hold their own. They perform as one on stage, no matter how difficult the choreography. No one really lags behind or overshadows anyone else on stage. And considering the fact that their singing and rapping are so stable even while doing hectic choreographies makes it even more impressive. And the fact that they are dancing to choreographies they had a hand in making and singing/rapping to good music THAT THEY ACTUALLY MADE (produced, composed, wrote, etc) and recorded themselves makes it even more authentic and showcases their talents. They hardly ever outsource for production (Bumzu works at Pledis) and most of their songs are credited to at least one member in Seventeen. That is mind blowing to me. Name one other group that produces most of their own music to this day, writes their own lyrics (including rap verses), has such a significant role in choreographing, and all members are good dancers. I'll wait. And I mean good dancers as in ALL the members have decent technique and actual experience and work together to synchronise well, not the stage presence some fans call dancing. One thing is for sure, there is no performance group better than Seventeen. Their synchronisation, stability, versatility, choreography and ability to make a performance a whole show even without a bunch of backup dancers is unmatched. And like I said, there is actual skill, teamwork and practice behind all of that and all the members are good dancers. They aren't here to just do the bare minimum or rely on looks, stage presence or fame/popularity. You can tell they are actually in this industry for the music and the art of performance - their passion - not for the clout, and that hasn't changed to this day. And I respect that so much.

Vernon was bullied start from middle school until he dropped off. so even though training was really hard and exhausting, even some member also have thought to quit (jeonghan, joshua, coups have thoughts to quit bcs of harsh training and how their debut always pushes back. The situation was like it feels like they can debut next month but also felt like they'll never debut)
But for Vernon, he always thought training days were really fun eventhought it is exhausting. But he think that days was what pulled him up from the middle school days and how he can actually want to learn something and be hard working on stuff he like and be proud of it.

Seventeen is called Theater kids performance. they always made a new instrument for 1 song for 1 performance, such as Left n Right in MAMA has different concept with LnR in the other Awards Perform. and they never have hesitation to perform their B-side on Award events. You can easily find out their B-side live version on youtube

Boy it was the fault of his english tutor. His parent wants him to learn english, but instead of teaching english. He teach lots of instruments instead, the tutor love music and has a band, he knows lots of instruments too. One day he introduce him to musical instruments and both of them was fall too deep in the lesson. So that what has Woozi become.

Yes Boo Seungkwan, the it boy of the industry of not just kpop but the whole entertainment industry.
He sings, dances, is good at sports like basketball, badminton, foot volleyball, volleyball, soccer, etc. I think he is the most athletic in svt (check him out on Racket Boys), he's so good at variety shows hence he won the rookie award before and this year, the best male entertainer award
He is friends with a lot of people in the whole industry like idols, comedians, etc.

that one time 97 liners (jung-kook, yu-gyeom, bambam, dk, mingyu, the8, jihyo, chae-yeon, eun-ha, yuju) were turning 20, so they made a special stage and the band WAS SEVENTEEN
First clip was in Immortal Songs where singers compete in making the best cover of different songs of an artist in Korea.
Wonwoo has potential in acting, iirc, he was considered to be the lead of My ID is gangnam beauty along with cha eunwoo but he was busy so eunwoo was chosen.

Ikr most of the members are literally street casted. Seems like fate, pledis got so lucky finding 13 gems. Woozi one of the few members who auditioned, said he was the only one accepted among 300+ trainees at that time. Talk about main character shit right there 👏😍

I really love it when they react to different groups and praise each talents without saying the same words over and over. They really dig deep with each group and reading comments.

i mean they dont just know how to sing, dance, etc. off the bat. most of them didnt even know how to dance at first. woozi had to learn how to produce songs step by step. they learn and train a lot, then ofc all those hard work pay off in the end like this
I think the reason why they're so talented just because of their hard working and never stop improving themselves, we can see their improvement every single time! So I really respect them!

but yeah dino and hoshi were scouted from dance contests, hao from his dance academy in china, seungkwan from a video his teacher posted of him singing in a school contest, joshua from a music festival he performed in(?) in LA, i think jun was scouted when his friend was auditioning. some of them were scouted for their visuals.
as for the all-rounder syndrome in these boys, i think its just rly in their nature and like yaknow tons of training. i think i read somewhere that coups said dk and hoshi were lucky they found each other (having the equal amounts of sunshine and energy in them) bc they helped each other survive the training process. seungkwan, dino, and vernon rly like watching korean gag shows so theyre well versed with what works and what doesnt. ig thats why theyre so sensitive sometimes in going seventeen when things arent going well bc they also want to enjoy watching it. i think it was mingyu who said seungkwan even studies variety shows to an extent just to hone his skills or sumn, but he rly enjoys it, and he's like besties with half the industry
thinking about vernon, jeonghan, mingyu, etc. as visuals who didn't do much in auditions but being aces and smart people. pledis is so lucky really.
Seungkwan is really an ace and yet so underrated!!! He sings, does variety shows, dances and is a great athlete!! But the truth is all of them have so much to offer that it gets difficult to chose one ace
