Would you spend $5k to make $1k in a day? Literally one day, but it’s a lot of work.

      Not worth it

Yes, that’s a pretty good ratio however,I think trying to do that every day would become a real grind.

For smaller items that are easy to show off, display, and ship? Sure. For bulky clothing items, or larger items? Absolutely not.

    Should I do more unboxings?

Yes,definitely! I will stick to buying items one by one for a long time. I think buying pallets is a whole different business model.

I personally am not a fan of long unboxing video. This short 10min sum up video was interesting. Also I like the diversity of content and it is ok if some content I skip on because others will enjoy it.

$1000 is not enough safety margin on a $5000 investment. As you say, pallet quality could vary quite a bit. You would need an extremely consistent product in order to operate on 20% profit margin. As you said, the expectation is to double your money when buying a pallet. Anyone else would have gotten scammed because they would not have been able to get as much profit out of the pallet as you have. If you made $6000 they should definitely drop the price of that pallet to at least $3000 if the company you bought from wants to be a reputable liquidator.

I buy pallets everyday it is all about the supplier Tom at resale America has it right. Once you get a good supplier never let them go. They are to many businesses that in liquidation dropping there trash to everyone else.

We do storage units and cleanouts. (20' U-Haul at a time)
    Day 1) getting the inventory
    Day 2) sorting cash/trash
    Day 3) inventorying
Day 4- 14 listing and shipping

I've decided that I will not do mystery boxes any longer. I do so much better with sales when I pick the items out myself. I'm able to keep my COG's under $4, by taking advantage of sales & discounts at thrift stores. I basically do all bread & butter and they all sell. The ones hanging around are things I bought in bulk, or given to me for free. It just isn't worth all the effort to list.

Thank you for this video, Chris! I hope they will give you the partial refund! It’s just disappointing that they have given you something that are not as advertised. Thank you for your hard work!

I am highly interested in how the discrepancy of the items in the pallet will be reconciled by your contact. The way you are treated during this "mishap" is huge - because if you basically get thrown to the wolves that says to me and everyone else "its a scam, not worth it". You should mention the resolution in a future video!

Usually liquidation buying is "at your own risk", but I would say if the pallet is advertised as 0 in house brands and ends up being 90% thats blatant false advertisement and even if it is reconciled, severely damages the trust and reputation of the business. I've been burned on pallets before and don't really buy liquidation anymore but if you are considering it I would document the entire process and worst case scenario if you get burned really bad and its another case of false advertisement and the co is not willing to negotiate, you can just take them to small claims court. The only time you have pretty much no recourse is when its unmanifested and there are no claims as to what it contains, then that truly is at your own risk. Just be cautious I would say the majority of these companys just cherry pick the best items for themselves and liquidate the rest, unless you can find a truly reputable co. I'd avoid.

I think I watched some of your auction of this pallet. When I’ve been unhappy, I’ve reached out to the company as well. I’d take some of this to a higher end BST store or consignment shop for the things that aren’t worth my time to list.

I only buy a pallet if there is a manifest if I am shorted I email them and get credit. Checking against the manifest is the only way.

was this from NWOT Outlet? I bought a 50 piece box of no house brand nordstoms for $450 with coupon code. there were 20% Abound clothes. 10 % were damaged and unsellable.

  • @therealjenniferrr
    @therealjenniferrr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I would recommend finding a textile recycler for garbage clothes like that shirt. Please do not resell it to another reseller unless you are making a scrap box (which does sell, I've done it before). H&M takes clothing and they will also give you a coupon in return. I did this until they left my mall, however, never used the coupon. lol

Could slap on a colorful iron design like a dragon or something on the white shirt if you couldn’t get the stain out.

Hard to pass down $1,000 profit for a day, but I don't have the infrastructure to pull that off in one day, so buying this pallet would be a "no" from me. Don't have the space, anyway. Also...the mental and emotional real estate taken up by receiving something not as advertised and having to deal with that.

My comment is not necessarily pertaining to a pallet purchase, but my comment may help when finding items that are defective when thrifting. If you find 100% cashmere or 100% linen or 100% cotton with defects like holes, stains, dye color defects, excessive pills etc... ask for a discount then lot the same materials together to sell and use the terms "lot" "craft" "craft cutter" "upcycle" in the title. Crafting people look for these lots and purchase them. Just keep a pile of like material together until you have enough to have a listing. I've made $30 to $50 alone on listings of cashmere with only 5 sweaters that I got at the bins for under a dollar a piece. I puchased 6 old 1970's mens leather vests I found at the bins and got over $50 for the lot using these search terms. 🥰🥰

I deal in car/truck parts and have bought in bulk of pallet quantities. I only do it when I can see and inspect 75-100 percent of the items but for anything pallet quantity wise, it is definitely an undertaking. My items were good and I would definitely do it again. As always awesome content Chris!

I've got a couple thrift stores that have a bunch of non profits that are funded through them that I donate things in my pallets I find not worth my time. They give me receipts that I can then use to write off taxes at the end of the year.

Toss any clothing that is not salvageable. It ends up in 3rd world countries and people buy it can't sell it burn it and lose money. It's just better to throw it away IMO. It is an awful cycle and some credible TH-cam videos on the subject.

I appreciate this video. I would have no problem spending 5000 to make 1000 in 1 day. It would Be hard to find a source that could deliver profitable product every everyday to make this model Consistently profitable for me but it is certainly a way to pepper in some profits every week. Maybe that would be unrealistic as well. Lol

I am assuming it is about profit margins! my second question is did you buy the pallet from NWOT outlet ??
