I feel VERY fortunate to have come into this game at the end of 2023 or BT14-ish. Otherwise, it'd be tough to keep up. This doesn't stop me from enjoying the game, it just slows down what once was a steady advance of affordable products and cards.
The fact we have to make "budget deck" videos, when a year ago this game was praised for how cheap and accessible it was saddens me beyond belief. I feel like I'm being priced out of this game, with 50-dollar promos for every deck that means a damn.
To be fair, it is still by far the cheapest option of a good tcg. Pokemon is the only cheapest one, and the game is actually 2 solitary gameplays. At least here we have good interaction.
I believe it is still in the accesible side of things. However I will give you that a lot of key cards are behind the Promo/Secret Rare slot. But for the most part, most decks can get expensive only if you go for the Alt Art treatment.
are you sure red hybrid is considered budget still as old ancients are at $50 a piece and new ancientgreymons are at $10 a piece thats already $140 before we account for the rest of the deck

For sure. We should be ok

Not every deck has 50 dollar promo. But that why we try and avoid expensive
