  • Sidney is a beautiful seaside town located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Here are a few interesting facts about Sidney:
Sidney is home to the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre, a marine education and conservation facility that houses more than 160 species of marine life found in the Salish Sea.
Sidney is known as the "Booktown" of Canada, with over a dozen bookstores located within a few blocks of each other. The town hosts an annual Sidney LitFest, which attracts authors and book lovers from around the world.
Sidney is home to the Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa, which features a unique "Seaside Seaweed Soak" treatment in its spa. The treatment uses locally harvested seaweed to detoxify and nourish the skin.
The town has a rich history of aviation, with the Victoria International Airport and the Victoria Flying Club located nearby. The Sidney Spit, a popular local attraction, was once a World War II training site for the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Sidney is also home to the Sidney Museum, which showcases the town's history and heritage, including exhibits on the First Nations people, early pioneers, and the town's aviation history.

It seemed like a very nice, clean and quite town, at least in the evening we've been there. Enjoy your visit.

Sidney is so small, there may be a few people experiencing homelessness in the area, but the town is very safe

In Victoria yes. but not in Sidney! We go there about once or twice a week.
