The fallout of this from other wrestlers is one of the big issues I always have with this shit. You never hear people speak on somebody until someone else accuses them of something bad then suddenly everybody hops in and says that the person has always been a bad person and so on. Yet outside the world of rasslin', Jim's intelligence is average at best, and his honesty and consistency in his arguments is like that of your typical wrestling promoter. Corny tries to sound like Mister Enlightenment, yet there are clips with Brian Last where, if you didn't know anything about Corny, you'd swear he walks around with a "Re-Elect Trump" boater glued to his head. The thing is he's paired with Brian Last, himself not exactly a candidate for induction in Mensa--or to put it more crudely, a man who, if brain power were agility, would be a heavily pregnant elephant. Corny is at least clever enough to choose co-hosts who won't challenge him mentally, and will agree with his bullshit.

The fallout of this from other wrestlers is one of the big issues I always have with this shit. You never hear people speak on somebody until someone else accuses them of something bad then suddenly everybody hops in and says that the person has always been a bad person and so on. If they’ve truly always been a piece of shit then you’re also a piece of shit for allowing it to go on idly by for years until it became a PR convenience to suddenly stand up about how rotten they are. The negativities that everyone always are shocked went on for years is because of the fact that people look past things people do for years and don’t do anything until it’s a convenience to finally do so and then act like they’re heroic to finally speak up after condoning alleged bad behavior for decades.

I think I understand what Jim is trying to say. He is not knocking the wrestlers as human beings. He is knocking their wrestling matches. He is focused on how they wrestle and not who they are.
Yet he refers to Kenny Omega as "Harpo" (as in Harpo Marx). Now, I must admit, that's a good observation, yet being honest, that has nothing to do with Omega's wrestling. If Omega wrestled like Ric Flair, Cornette would never make fun of Omega's appearance. I know that appearance counts for a lot in wrestling, yet many wrestling fans, especially AEW-NJPW fans, would either be oblivious to Harpo Marx, or wouldn't watch Marx Brothers movies very often, if at all (talk to your average Comic Book Guy types, the ones who are normally AEW-NJPW fans: they know everything about Marvel and D.C., yet would be lost if they had to name all three of the main Marx siblings). Corny even makes fun out of Riho's name, which is just a stupid thing to do, and show Corny's cultural ignorance. You can tell that Corny does not hold the Japanese in high regard, give or take a Rikidozan (who was actually Korean).
Furthermore, Jim Cornette bashes Omega for doing Ultimate Warrior-like things in the ring. Well, I guess that means that Corny should hate any wrestler who wears face paint or runs to the ring.
I don't buy into the commonly held belief that Cornette is particularly intelligent. He has amazing knowledge of wrestling history, he has some logical booking ideas, and I'm a big advocate of what Corny calls "the name test" (i.e. the importance of wrestlers having names that look good on a marquee). Yet outside the world of rasslin', Jim's intelligence is average at best, and his honesty and consistency in his arguments is like that of your typical wrestling promoter.
Corny tries to sound like Mister Enlightenment, yet there are clips with Brian Last where, if you didn't know anything about Corny, you'd swear he walks around with a "Re-Elect Trump" boater glued to his head. The thing is he's paired with Brian Last, himself not exactly a candidate for induction in Mensa--or to put it more crudely, a man who, if brain power were agility, would be a heavily pregnant elephant. Corny is at least clever enough to choose co-hosts who won't challenge him mentally, and will agree with his bullshit.
