I'm confused, I'm just hearing about this If they are right it doesn't matter what her music says it matters what is in her heart so far from watching this it tells me her hearts not in it. I have known and listened to Lauren Daigle starting when she wasn't yet really famous (in fact, I followed her on twitter back then, she followed me back and up until now), she's one of the first "Christian" artists I listened to along with Jamie Grace, etc. Actually before my dad shared to me this vid, I can already see that Jesus is getting out of the picture in her life.. This really saddens me, we need to be always aware of Spiritual battle.
We saw her several years ago in a small church with Mercy Me. She said all the right things and I fell in love with her voice. Sadly, it didn’t take long for her to forsake Christ.

I used to listen to her music and then I really started to focus on the lyrics and I realized she barely ever sings Jesus name or Christ. Here n there if we're lucky we'll get a God or Lord. It just feels very impersonal with faith and more like a love song to basically anyone.

Went to her concert in Knoxville last week. She is a blessed singer. She’s not a Christian singer. She never opened or closed in prayer, no testimony and never any kind of invitation. There so many young people there who may have not given their life to Christ. They do a world hunger adopt a child. I will pray and lift her up to fully know Jesus.

If you're not familiar with them, every figurine represents a Christian virtue or value, and each one has a related Bible verse. When Mr. Butcher described their business to me he said that he believed God called them not to be "Christian artists" or even a "Christian company." But rather artists who were Christians and a company run by Christians on Christian principles. He said that gave them greater access to a wider world of acceptance and allowed the messages of their figurines to reach many more people than if they had locked themselves into the niche of only being sold in Bible book stores and so on. I found nothing unChristian or unBiblical about that.

In the music industry when someone puts a title on their name they’re only expected to do that type of music. The issue with that is What if someone wants to write a love song because they’re married? What if they want to write a song that speaks on politics? What if they want to write a song that tells a story about someone’s life? People would no longer consider them a Christian artist but judge then to be otherwise. That’s the issue. When a Christian artist says that we have to stop immediately judging them. We should judge then on the base of their content and not solely because they say they’re a Christian who wants to be an artist. Apostle Paul was a tent maker not a Christian tent maker, Luke was a doctor not a Christian doctor. These artists are artist whose called to use their platform to talk about all issues, deal with all types of issues as long as what they’re saying represents Jesus Christ. Now I’m not an avid Lauren Daigle fan so I don’t know if she says Jesus or not as someone in the comment section says she doesn’t, if some of her songs did not say Jesus but we’re still scripture base in parable form is that not still the gospel? Jesus used parables all the time. For some artists who no longer want to be identified as Christian i believe they may have another agenda but for some there’s no agenda Christ is still their goal they just want to bring to light every topic.

EJT0002 that’s a good question! I often struggle with my past because I lived through the 80s music. I still believe that it was great music because of the different types that were available. Before I knew not to listen to that stuff I was really into it, so hearing it today when I’m shopping for groceries sends me back to those days and I’m still bobbing my head to it naturally 🤷♀️ when I catch myself singing along it makes me a little sad because of what most of it represents.

I am from Lafayette also!!! Lauren went to family life church where I often visited but I never got to meet her. I did hear some criticisms of her awhile back, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt before deciding anything. I have been saved 27 years, served as worship leader and I love GOOD Christian music BUT I also like many secular artists as well. So what? I have enough discernment to stay away from music that isnt appropriate. As messed up as the Christian music scene can be and is, there are still people who serve the Lord in it. Best place to be a witness is around the lost.. Is she a fraud? Is she pretending to be a Christian artist? Maybe.. We do need to pray that these young people be bold in their faith and NOT compromise the truth for popularity. Fame and money changes people.

How many times have you heard someone whine, "Judge not, that ye be not judged?" This verse of Scripture from Matthew 7:1 is often quoted out of context by people who are terrified at the idea of someone preaching against sin or pointing out any form of error in anyone, especially in themselves.

A righteous person will talk of judgment. He will not REFUSE to judge. He will talk judgment.

How can you hate the evil and love the good if you refuse to judge? You can't. You are SINNING when you refuse to judge.

Paul said in I Corinthians 1:10 to ". . . be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."
Why would Paul make such a statement if judging is wrong? In I Corinthians 2:15 Paul says, "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man." Judging is not a sin; judging is a characteristic of being a spiritual person! Satan has been lying to us, hoping that we will NOT judge, because he knows that the right kind of judgment PLEASES God and betters our lives and Christian service.
Someone says, "But should we judge PEOPLE?" Yes, we certainly should. Paul actually REBUKES the Corinthians for NOT judging: "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?" (I Cor. 6:1-5) If judging is wrong, then Paul needs to confess and repent for misleading these Christians! He clearly told them to JUDGE PEOPLE.
If judging people is wrong, how can we obey Romans 16:17-18? II Corinthians 6:17? II Timothy 3:5-6? I John 4:1? Friend, if judging is wrong, then God has contradicted Himself and His words cannot be trusted!
Notice Malachi 3:18: "Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not." WOW! Does that sound like it is wrong to judge?
What about Revelation 2:2? " I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:" Why would the Lord be pleased with these Christians if judging was wrong? Is it not impossible to find someone a "liar" without judging them?
If the Bible is clear about anything, it is clear about the importance of judging on a regular basis in order to properly serve and honor God. To ignore this fact is to ignore all of the Scripture just presented and also the rest of the Bible. God expects us to judge.

yes it is quoted by sinners funnily enough... that should tell you something. That verse in particular is referring to hypocritical judgment. Do not judge someone on something you're doing yourself. There are many other verses in the bible that talk about different types of judgment. If a christian says we are not to judge, they haven't read their bible and speak nonsense.

Videos like this, as a Christian, are embarassing to me. The Bible says to pray for one another, not bash one another. We can criticize and talk about people (famous or not) and what we see, but the relationship they have with God will always be unknown to us. I have been a true believer my entire life and have never seen a “Missionary” speak like this about any Christian singer at all. Videos like this one, give the rest of us, true believers, an awefull reputation of who we are and what being a Christian is all about. When as a Christian we listen to music that isn’t holy, the only person letting us know the truth about the music and the singer is the Holy Spirit. We are all humans, and none of us are perfect or holy enough for the Love and the Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, but it is only by his GRACE, that we get them. So, to the “Missionary” Spencer, be a true Missionary and make videos showing to other what as a missionary you do for Christ, not for you, make videos with the word of God given to you to minister and bless others. Lauren Daigle’s music has been a blessing to me in moment’s when I have felt like giving up. Read Mathew 7:1-5, and James 4:11-12 and maybe rethink what videos you make when talking about others. If you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything at all.

I don't see how this video is helpful, or beneficial to anyone that watches it. How is using sarcasm beneficial to anyone? If an unbeliever watched this how would they react? they wouldn't react to the content but the delivery. I completely agree. But also I understand why true believers get upset with people like Lauren. I have recently called out a "so called" Christian on her TH-cam channel. I became so angry because she was beyond hypocritical and judgemental. It was over her coverage of a missing woman. I felt like it was my duty to call her out and shame her. Then I realized my behavior was worse. I realized people probably looked at me and thought, yep just another Christian thinking they know everything. Yep, another accuser. I feel ashamed but I have learned from this. I think that it's wrong to go around accusing people. Bringing information to the surface is one thing but in all honesty, no one benefits from this behavior.
I can understand why he might not approve of her interview also, but using sarcasm and being condescending to prove a point? Jesus instructed people in a gentle and informative way, He didn’t try to dumb them down and make them feel stupid. If an unbeliever saw this, wouldn’t they get the message that Christians are stuck up and think they’re better than everyone else? That’s a horrible message.
Jesus used many different responses based on the character of the person/people he was talking to. You're 100% accurate that he was informative and gentle, but he certainly did not respond that way 100% of the time, at least not without also mixing in other methods. Whenever he said "Have you not read...?" (or similar) to the Pharisees, he was using sarcasm - they had without doubt read (probably even memorized) the Scripture Jeus was about to quote, but failed to understand it, despite their claims to the contrary.
That's what it seems Spencer is doing here. Despite Lauren's claim to be Christian, she, at least in this interview, when the door is kicked wide open by the questions, makes absolutely no mention of Christ. The Bible is clear on the necessity for Christians to proclaim Christ, so Spencer is rightly critiquing her, if she is a Christian, on her silence - in a sarcastically informative and gentle way at that; he really doesn't make her come across as dumb or stupid at all (he doesn't mock her tone of voice or mannerisms or anything like that), just as lacking integrity when it comes to preaching Jesus as the foundation of her talent and career.
To play devil's advocate, it's plausible that she did and it was cut from the video of the interview. I'm not sure how probable that is though.

Spencer was right in critiquing her failure to mention Christ, which is a big deal, and he was not too harsh about it. But I just couldn’t feel much compassion in his delivery of the message and it kind of threw me off...

Did it ever occur to you that Billboard interviewed her, asking her a bunch of questions and picked the responses they liked the most? If anything, I think Lauren needs our prayers as she is, all of a sudden, flung into mainstream popularity. Let's pray that she maintains her faith in God, her love for Jesus and has the strength to stand up for what she believes in. Let's stop picking apart her every move and put ourselves in her shoes. She needs support, love and intercession!

no way for us to know for sure, but I highly doubt they took footage of her saying "aretha franklin" and "amy winehouse" out of context. Like why else would Lauren be mentioning these women who were very rich and famous for singing secular music if she herself doesn't admire them? I don't think I've ever heard her say Jesus' name, not just in this edited video, but ever... It's not about picking apart her every move. It's about simply questioning how someone who is "so strong" in Christ can give so many responses that have absolutely nothing to do with the gospel of Jesus, which is what a "strong Christian artist" should be doing if ever given this sort of platform. Though let's be honest, a truly strong Christian artist would probably never be accepted on these platforms, because that Christian's biblical convictions would be so outspoken that no big name platform like billboard or Ellen would want to host them. these "Christian" artists who are let in are really contributing to the whole "coexist" movement that 100% contradicts the gospel that says that believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to know God and have salvation. And how can the masses who are hearing lauren sing and speak know this Jesus if his beautiful name isn't being audibly preached (Romans 10:14)? I don't know much about her very much only two songs I've heard before and I hope in God that he speaks to her. I just keep hearing things about her. I read that someone asked her if homosexuality is sin? and that she said that she didn't know, to look it up in the bible because she was still learning and some other stuff. Some are very much afraid to be hated by the world and to have people turn their backs on them and a person that is starting (a born again) I get that, but the holy scriptures speaks on that exact thing too. We should be more worried about what God thinks of us, then what the next person thinks. I'm a Christian who loves Jesus more than anything but if someone at work asks me a question that is totally unrelated to my faith, I'm not going to verbally inject my faith into the conversation just to please judgmental Christians like you. If someone asks me about a missing spreadsheet, I'm not going to respond with "Hey, Jesus just spoke to me and told me that the spreadsheet is located in the staff folder on the shared drive." That's ridiculous! I know a lot of self-professed "true" Christians who talk a big game about Jesus but are some of the most heartless people I've ever come across. They will smile at your face and spew venom at you when your back is turned. Being a good Christian has nothing to do with how much you talk about Jesus and everything to do with how you bring Him into the world. And Ms. Daigle's music is certainly spreading the good word. So what if she prefers secular artists over Christian artists? I prefer those artists as well. Nothing against Chris Tomlin or other Christian artists, but if I had to choose between him and Aretha Franklin, Aretha would win hands-down because I genuinely love her voice and style and I think she is far more talented than Tomlin. I'm not going to choose Tomlin just because he's a Christian. And I personally love the title she chose for her life story, "How to Live Like A Child in an Adult-Proof World." After all, didn't Jesus ask us to have a child-like faith in Him? I know this was long, but I just don't get Christians who tear other Christians apart. - As a teacher, I don't 'preach' Jesus every time I see my students but I do plan or look for opportunities to influence, if you get what I'm saying.
- I don't think Lauren should be expected to 'preach' Jesus every time she is handed a mic. But as a follower of Yahweh she should be burdened with the responsibility to share her faith to save as many souls as she can. Whether it be sowing the seeds or just watering what someone has already done.

I am a trucker and most of the time I talk about the work I do because it has priority, not because I want it to but because it’s a necessity. When God gives me opportunity to give testimony , I do.
When I can attend church, I do, but it’s not often because of my job. I don’t put my job before God but it’s no different than being a soldier, which, I’ve done that , too. I read my Bible daily because that was the only thing I could do.
How much do we need to give testimony, or attend church ? If you ever spoke to a Jehovah’s Witness , you would see the difference. All they talk about is their religion , but they are true hypocrites.

I do agree with your statement, I do. All Christ Followers, we should give the benefit-of-the-doubt, but, also careful and w/ discernment. When an Artist has been given a public platform and the opportunity to say or name "God" "Son of God - Jesus" "My Savior is the reason of my existence" and the artists' lips never give God the Glory, it is hard to keep up believing. If she thinks or believes that being gay is okay, then there is a major problem. BUT! That doesn't mean Christians should condemn her soul, no, Jesus does not want you to do that. Instead, preach, teach and heal. Conemnation is what Satan does, convicting and saving is what Jesus does. Be like Jesus.

Has the holy spirit ever prompted you to share your faith on the bus or on the subway and you haven't because of maybe fear.. if sometimes we can't do it in front of one person on the bus .. how much more in front of the whole world.
