6:33 In my very last invasion I used the fire grease on my weapon and they got a screaming death noise, so it depends on what causes the death too. Nice little detail.
Awesome video as always Chase, I’m stoked to see you thriving so much during the network test, I can’t wait to catch the streams on release!! Also I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m totally happy with the change to backstabs; It allows players to be more aggressive and do more moves with a longer recovery. Honestly if they changed that, all of the new combat implementations would never get used because it would be so easy to punish them, it would just turn back into DS3. I find it weird how some people who were complaining about ER looking too much like DS3 during the gameplay reveal, are the same ones who are wanting them to revert all the changes they made.
One thing I think might be interesting to see would be different backstab animation times. So backstabbing with a knife might be easier than backstabbing with a longsword.
Well they need to have longer stun somehow, like ds3. Hope there is longer stun weapons or amulets or smthing... either this or just flat out restrict healing flasks in pvp... Only one hit and back up and heal, is no fun... and 99% of fights will be like this... hope the promised arena will be more structured...
Was starting to worry there won't be an upload today, glad to be wrong :) Also beat my first invasion today, 1 vs 3, thank thee for thy teaching master chase ^^
@redxpen no sadly even when trying to punish slow miracles and spells, if the player moves in any direction the backstab will fail. it definitely needs a rework to actually be used in pvp
I dunno if why there was such worry about backstabs in general, you can pretty much punish anyone spamming anything in ds3 aside from quick step and indefinite stun locks, but taking out all combos is a little crazy too. I’d like to see some stuns/combos, but getting rid of like a straight sword spam was kinda cool… but we could just parry that. I dunno we’ll play, but if they dont fix it its gonna be pve playthroughs, and we’ll resort back to ds3 pvp which is not what i was hoping for. But what else are we supposed to do if they make pvp that boring?
@redxpen obviously someone is a bit salty, but what chase is saying is: if you go for a backstab and the enemy turns their character even a tiny bit, the backstab fails. Some of the spells that look punishable w/ backstab are not because they can move while casting it or it moves their player… which has been proven between many different streamers
@@BlackSheepDeity backstabs should be better than they were on the network test but they SHOULDNT be like ds3 either in my opinion. We should be able to punish slow spells and parry spam but if its too good, jumping attacks will become much more punishable and combat will be as stale as ds3 in some cases
Small detail but I love that a ton of blood gets splattered all over the ground over the course of a fight. Its been a while since I've played the other souls games but I don't remember that to be the case. Very nice detail!
Hey Chase! I've never played any souls like before, but elden ring has got me hyped. So I purchased DS3 in prep and I found your channel aswell, have been loving the videos so far!
I personally found dual greatlances with the whirlwind stomp weapon art to be the absolute most bonkers good 1v1 PvP setup of the network test as it was a resulted in a high-damage true combo nearly every time. A close second for me was the dual bleed daggers with good spacing seemed to really surprise people with how quick the bleed proc came on when you got in close enough to spam R1. Also the weapon art is pretty good to force movement on the opponent and you could also get some pretty accurate shots off with it occasionally if you switched off target lock and led their movement in the direction they were running after they avoid the first shot. Was harder to do on hills but on a flat plane like the shallow lake where you fight the dragon it usually worked out pretty well.
Sounded like the bleed death made them do a cough sound like coughing blood. Lol which is a cool little sound to add to a bleed death. If bleed works in pvp like in a boss fight even blocking can cause bleed
My biggest take away from this vid is that R2 -> R1 makes you do the animation for the second R1 swing instead of the first one, making the animations flow nicer. I like that change a lot! Still not really happy with how dual wielding works, though. IMO Bloodborne still has the best mechanics for two-handing/dual wielding, where giving up your offhand gun makes your R1s and R2s use both weapons, and also gives you a third combo string on L2. I'm not a fan of the "R1 will only swing one weapon even while dual wielding" thing that started in DS2.
Can we somehow get them to move the compass to the top right of the screen or have it as an option? It just obstruct the view and it's a distraction in the midle of the screen most of the time on top of the enemy's health-bar.
Personally I think the light attack true combo was better. Having only 1 hit combo at a time definitely draws out the length of a fight. Also the fact that multiple people can stunlock you just makes it even more difficult to fight outnumbered since you do not get true combos to output burst damage.
@@IcaroWWW Not only that the fun of 3 and before was you could invade anyone anytime wether they were prepared or not so they had to fight or game end themselves or DC but now everyone knows what to expect
Not being able to mindlessly R1 spam is great, now you have to think and not just abuse latency to keep mashing down in an already simple combat system.
People take less damage in Elden Ring, makes for more drawn out and exciting fights with the incentives to do jumping attacks and weapon arts. That greatsword duel was a fighting brawl
Only because the network test had such limited stat and upgrade options. DS3 would have the same "time to kill" if everyone was stuck with +3 weapons and no scaling. We will likely see some pretty crazy damage in the official release at whatever level the PvP meta lands at. It also seems obvious that FromSoft will add backstabs back into the game after they were bugged all network test, which should further speed up the combat (and punish these long cast times and missed jump-heavies).
Pvp seems promising during network test, but people that are participating want to pvp. Bit worried to see the cheese strategies the ganks choose when trying to avoid pvp…
It's crazy that FromSoft can watch people PvP on DS for YEARS, knowing full well how often people emote and how important it is that the menu is accessible quickly, and they still release the UI as it is now. They definitely didn't think that through at all.
It's only hard to press because he doesn't have the emote equipped though. They did this so that people would stop complaining about emoting by accident through motion controls.
Not at all you can't tell but chase has phantoms overwise you can't invade you can't invade solo hosts so it's basically always being an Aldrich and most people aren't nice enough to fight 1v1
You can't force an invasion I just found out they added an item that allows hosts to be invaded 1v1 but it has to be used so no more surprises they know what they're getting in to
is this gameplay on ps4? because it looks like all the peoples who have elden ring network test owns a next gen console.I have only found one gameplay on ps4
Imagine invading and the host leads you to a beach all covered in blood
@EggTwoLegg Yep, and this is sad.
@EggTwoLegg ok but he said imagine.
It’s gonna be so cool when Chase gets to livestream this regularly :)
Yeah can’t wait for chase to try all the dual wield options
big fan of spinning slash on the scimitar, good onehanded damage, would be great on a battlemage build
6:33 In my very last invasion I used the fire grease on my weapon and they got a screaming death noise, so it depends on what causes the death too. Nice little detail.
I remember some non-player enemies do that too in Bloodborne. Some of them scream things like "It burns!" when killed with fire.
Chase duels like a scientist, and the corpse covered beach is his laboratory.

agreed 100%

I’ve been binging your videos mate, Elden Ring will bring a golden era of Chase
DS3 was golden era for him ER era will be platinum
I honestly feel like we just entered the golden age of chas content and it hasn’t stopped since.
Gotta admit, these fights were really fun looking, I love them, thank you chase.
Nice showcase. I wanted to see as many different things as possible and this one had that.
So far I love the pvp aspects. It just has MORE than the other games. Making it feel like a real fight

@@Zkarr87 Nah, unbased opinion.
@@jazzman7842 Yeah, I bashed too quickly. It might be great when we have the full game. But what game in the series do you think have the best pvp? :)
Your skill, your honor, and your friendly nature do you good credit sir. I tip my hat to you.
Something that could be fun to see is two identical weapons with different weapon arts. So you can quickly change which one to change up WAs
thats something im planning on, i generally really like to focus on one weapon, so being able to swap WA to mix it up will be nice.
Im late to reply but that’s 90% of my invasion strats lol. Different ashes on the same wep, no one ever sees the mix up coming
I remember first coming to this channel when chase was under 50k, I love coming to your videos to learn new tactics
Was starting to worry there won't be an upload today, glad to be wrong :)
Also beat my first invasion today, 1 vs 3, thank thee for thy teaching master chase ^^
Gravity weapon art is basically almighty push. So you are kinda able to show that your pain is far greater than theirs right now
I hope we get backstabs back, especially for a way to punsih the jumping attacks

Backstabs is boring in DS3, everyone just keep running around and around just for backstabs each other and not focus on the melee combats
Oh, thank you for showcasing Duel Straightswords vs Duel Axes!

adding jump made so much more possibilities it's insane

Without back stabs spear type weapons indirectly revived a huge buff.
The scenery makes every fight a marvel
Very Happy to see this game in motion,Respect as always Chase.
Probably wont play this myself but I am really looking forward to watching you play :)
the double double sword reminded me of someone but I couldn't remember.
now i know, it was grievous.

I can’t wait for this game to come out…
If elden ring is like this with some good back and forth trades instead of one shot death bs I think I'll like it alot more then in dark souls 3
I so hope the Farron GS makes a return... my favorite weapon... ever!
honestly i feel like they should make seperate animation for dual wielding and seperate attacks instead of keeping one weapon shiethed
Its RPG combat mechanics, movements, and camera seems odd in a PVP gameplay. Maybe I'm just used to For Honor, but I'd give this one a try
Ok
Great vid dude u cannot wait for this game
"Hehe i'm gonna invade some nubs" invades Chase
If you were waiting for his Elden Ring parries, then boy is this video a treat. Lmao.
Great vid Chase! Are you playing it on PS or PC? :)
i love the blood on the floor
Oh imagine three people with fire breath spell.
17:30 That's clearly a tortoise, Chase. Smh.
Chase can you give a brief description of differences, both good and bad in feel, from ds3 to elden ring?
Eldenring pvp looks so much like an Animi fight
Just the beginning
Love the content bro
Great content as always !
I hope people will appreciate and try shields more than that.

tbf this is not the final build for the game
true, but bloodborne and ds3 network tests had much different (and much worse) UIs than the final game so i assume they’ll fix this kinda stuff
Only thing I don’t like is that when you dodge, even if it looks like you’ve been hit, it doesn’t count
Can't wiat for Chace to learn the timing for all the weapons so we can get some sweet backstabbing action!
Chase, Guardian of the Turtles
YOO?!?!?! The spells and basic attacks look sickk
The lance has insane tracking if u didnt notice
That's because it's the Best Weapon! Most players commonly use Swords so that would mean most Lance Users have the advantage in skirmishes.
10:52 this man must've been the select few that experienced the pre nerf lightning from ds1, or was it ds2?
Never tried before, are the hit just like dks3? 2 hit guarantee?
So I’ve watched some pvp clips of Elden Ring, but I can’t seem to notice that the overall damage is pretty low, what’s up with that?
12:30 is the fire spell really called Oh,Flame!
WTF is this???
DUUUUUUUUDE! I'm gonna SO watch it now. I even have Pringles, Coca-Cola, Choco-Pie. LET'S. FING. GO!
I’ve seen bloody wolf and so many PvP videos lol.
Chase, how is PvP feeling? it seems like everyone dies very slow, or something...
Soy mexicano pero extraño tus videos por favor sube mas!!! 💞
The combat system don't look so bad. But it cam still be improved 👌👌
4:09 noo you're Pong Krell xd
They need to just skip my birthday and get straight to February.
How can you host for invaders without summoning help?
Will Chase ever get the backstab? lol
Let’s gooo, love this game.
Chase, look the channel Tática DS, please! The best Dark Souls channel BR.
Haven't seen anyone talk about it, so is there a way to get invaded without summoning phantoms?
They need to change the emote method
a chase video without a single backstab feels weird.
How cool it looks!
Will you please show us some Parys!
SUNSET DUELS ON A BEACH
The gameplay reminds me a lot of ds2
why does it seem like attacks don’t do as much damage in pvp compared to dark souls 3? (i’m new to fromsoft games btw)
are u sure thats double katana
it reminded me of sellsword
soooo...there is no true combo like R1 -> R1?
that is the case, as of the patch of the network test
See how much better it looks? None of that stupid runnin' around looking for backstabs.
Hold on, what? 1:24 Stamina only ticked down after the the fifth roll.
How balanced is the PVP when ganks are involved?
Not at all you can't tell but chase has phantoms overwise you can't invade you can't invade solo hosts so it's basically always being an Aldrich and most people aren't nice enough to fight 1v1
You can't force an invasion I just found out they added an item that allows hosts to be invaded 1v1 but it has to be used so no more surprises they know what they're getting in to
What Class are you using Vagabond?
Try the old Lord's mod for dark souls remastered it looks really promising go and try it on your next video
Chase what class did u play as?
Daggers look interesting
Chase with daggers and no hornet ring and worse, no back stab :-p
Yessir another upload…
Glad you uploaded some pvp love the content step bro.
