This is the best coffee roasting mod that I've ever seen on the internet.

I have exactly the same machine, I'll try all your tips. Especially like this mesh strainer. Kudos to you :)

Thanks. If something is unclear from the video LMK and I'll try to explain. Be sure not to go over 85 grams for light roasts and 60 grams for darker ones.

@@foundparts6301 60 grams even if glass chimney is added? The mesh herb container is already in the basket. Moreover, I plan to control the fan and heater separately.

@@3YAPA, feel free to experiment. I found my absolute maximum to be 85 grams. Above that the fan won't turn the beans efficiently and eventually burn the heater, wrecking the machine.
Separating the control is a great idea. I tried that but on my unit the fan and heater are connected to same line with a devilish voltage splitter and I didn't find a way to do that without taking the entire circuit apart. If you find a solution please let me know.
Having said that, even with a unified control the machine produces terrific roasts. Been using the same unit weekly for two years without a single problem. Once you understand the limits you get really nice medium roasts in 5 minutes.

No need to remove the thermostat on this one? Can you get dark roast?

    • @foundparts6301

Yes, you can get quite dark roasts without removing the thermostat. Try roasting under 70 grams and remember to agitate the beans every minute or so by shaking the machine lightly.
The glass chimney has a huge thermal mass, this improves the uniformity of the roast while making sure temperature rises in a more controlled manner.

@@foundparts6301 thanks friend, will try without chimney when mine comes in and then see if it's something to add. I am going to try air fryer roasting as well.
