She is very sweet. So sorry this happened to you. No hunny don't worry because people who want the best and want to collect only authentic, they will always collect the authentic reborns. I didn't know better before, but I am keeping the fake ones for myself and the older girls in my family and friends who will be made aware they are not authentic. Sometimes people who are new, just don't know they have options. Collectors of reborns and artists do not talk about the stores where people can buy authentic kits and find artists. I had to figure out and find everything on my own. It was a long journey to where I am now and a lot of trial and error, but I am so happy I found this hobby.
Irressistables and McPherson are kind enough to do layaway and I have been paying for authentic kits. Just got my Arianna from Irressistibles, I bought Noah awake from McPherson, Maddie and Lottie, I was paying off Emmeline by Ping, but then they refunded all of our money because some company is producing her illegally 😭🥺 Oh I was so upset. I really loved 🥺Emmeline and wanted to paint her so much. I am paying off Tatiana now because I want to make Arianna and Tatiana to be twins in my nursery, I think that will be adorable. Yes, I love Reva Schick babies, LOL
it really makes it scary and hard to buy kits second hand these days! I was looking for a Vito sitting and in my searches I saw ads for him on Aliexpress! So if I buy off someone else I have to be even more cautious knowing that he is also a copied kit. Its so frustrating!
yes and they are so good at copying them. They even have numbers and names on the necks like the authentic babies, but if you have an authentic you can see the differences. The copies will never be exactly the same as the authentic kits either the arms are chunkier, or the faces and fingers and feet are a bit distorted. They are copies of copies of copies. I have compared them for myself when I started to buy authentic kits and I can see the authentic babies are prettier.
I still can't and won't tell people what to buy, I can advise someone and tell them my experience but these are very hard times and some people can't and won't be able to afford an authentic baby doll. I believe everyone deserves to be happy and have a baby to hug. There will always be plenty of women who will only buy authentic. People who don't care or can't afford it will keep buying the replicas. It is their money we are not paying their bills or feeding their family so we can only make sure we do what is right.
It is so frustrating! Especially when they are selling them for high prices, I've seen a lot of horror stories lately. One girl bought a blank Lou Lou kit for $750 and was sent a fake. It just makes buying 2nd market really scary!
