Sadly these light rail trains (type B80C) will be modernized soon and I think the traction motors will be replaced from DC PWM to 3-phase AC VVVF drive like the Dortmund U43/U44 low-floor-trams. The B100S (DC traction with resistor start) cars will be scrapped... you can find these trains on the line U42 and you can recognize it of the orange destination board.

As a matter of fact no, the B80C cars will KEEP their old traction motors, however, the old chopper traction control will be replaced by a new one.
With a little luck, at least one B100S tram will be handed over to the Nahverkehrsmuseum Dortmund (museum of public transport) in future.
I live in England and I have only visited Germany once. Like this youtube video I remember how clean everything was.

Also where does that track in middle goes to. Depot or is it another line? Plus did the tram crossed the main line. Where about is it!
@@Andrewjg_89 The track in the middle is used by the line U45 to/from Westfalenhallen which branches off to the right (the track is used in both directions). The line U49 goes on straight to Hacheney. (Also, these aren't trams (all lines except U43 and U44) because they have high platforms and most tracks are seperate from the streets. I'd call it Light Rail in English.)
The main line crossing is located near Obernette station (you can hear the announcement at 2:35). This main line is only used by freight trains as far as I know.

@@UntitledGoose These are trams - the definition of “light rail” is quite different in Germany. Actual light rails cross cities, Dortmund on the other hand only has a simple tram network with an underground tunnel in the city center.
The platform height and the fact that most of the trains are actually light rail vehicles still doesn't make it a light rail.
The official name is “Dortmund Stadtbahn” (Dortmund Light Rail), but this is wrong. The now wrong name goes back to the fact that in the 1980s the tram networks in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region were supposed to be connected to form a uniform light rail network (then it actually would be a light rail), however, these plans never came to fruition.
You can find real light rail lines in Düsseldorf. The line U79 for example has an exorbitant length and the line runs completely from Düsseldorf to Duisburg. Similar networks can be found in Cologne/Bonn. Dortmund does not have such lines.
@@arino253 Lustig. Genau die Düsseldorfer Stadtbahn sollte, finde ich, eigentlich auch Straßenbahn heißen, da sie hauptsächlich oberirdisch und häufig auf der Straße fährt... :D
Würdest du denn auch die Stadtbahn Hannover (die relativ ähnlich zu der von Dortmund ist) als Straßenbahn bezeichnen? Die dortige Linie 1 ist vergleichbar mit der U79, sie fährt sowohl nördlich als auch südlich weit über die Stadtgrenze von Hannover hinaus und in der Stadtmitte unterirdisch, die Linie 17 hingegen fährt nur innerhalb von Hannover und ausschließlich oberirdisch.

Yes, these are flipdots signs. The older roll-foil signs were replaced in 1998 - 2001.
Didn’t u forget the new metro train u can see it in the station of Kampstraße there are new trains u must go to the line heading Do Wickede

The maximum platform length is between 56 and 84 meters, that corresponds to a maximum of three cars. A single car has a length of 28 meters.
