We don't know for certain if the Darkest Day happened in PoMa:EX canon, since Rose is apparently still "president" and Hop did not get Zamacenta until his Legendary Adventure.
But it would had been really nice if we at least got a letter about him in Peony's house during the DLC.

Most of the time, the characters we get for each region are from that exact region down to the events. (Looking at Alola and Hoenn.)

Otherwise we wouldn’t be able to have characters like Lysandre seeing as he died, Lusamine not being a total lunatic, or having the hisui characters recognize both player characters

His intentions are kinda like Lysandre fearing the future for the world. Not selfish ambition like Ghetsis.

I'd argue him being a villain felt kinda unnecessary. Yea, Leon didn't understand but he still agreed to help Rose out. What difference is the extra day gonna make when the scale we're talking about is 1000yrs? Hell, maybe if he waited, he could have recruited the protagonist to help him out too.
It just felt really ill-thought out tho I liked him as a character before then.

​@@13CrystalHeartbecause in the GF case they wanted to use the scheme of "leaving things for later and never really getting done" as a message and that's why rose acted, because he got tired wait leon as time went by, the problem was that it wasn't days, months, but a THOUSAND YEARS until the scarcity arrived, which made his whole plan at the end of the game extremely stupid.

The stupidest villain gets the most threatening theme. Legit, if he wasn't trying to stop something that will happen _one thousand years in future_ and had better reasons he would be great.

I would argue Team Aqua are the stupidest villains. I mean, I get where they're coming from, but there's no guarantee that covering the world with water will help in any way.

I mean, all children's game villains need to exhibit absurd levels of stupidity, otherwise their defeat by children wouldn't be possible for any of them, lol. Rose has definitely lost a dangerous number of San points though, but how about we think of the circumstances that could've caused that?
When would a person be worried about sth in the future (near or far)? Prob when they (or their loved ones) would actually be affected by it, right? Doesn't that mean his crisis/fear does (or did) affect him in the future? How could that happen? What if he's from the future? Cool, that's one wild mass guess that connects a bunch of those random dots and starts to make a relatively pretty picture.
So if he's future, now here's another wild guess: what if he can somewhat freely travel through time? Meaning multiple challenges against Eternatus after he failed the first time (but w/o the doggos; I guess that's the main point where you can call him stupid, b/c he didn't know how to recruit the doggos like Victor/Gloria did), which in turn meant multiple contact points w/ an eldritch-esque entity. Then his becoming gradually crazier until the point you first meet him kinda starts to make sense.
But after the events of SwSh, he finally learns the easy way to catch Etern, so he finally goes back to try one more time (after "going to jail"), and no one in your timeline ever sees him again. Oleana goes to the CT to search for him. Why would she bother doing that if he was still visibly in jail, you know?
